10 Tips to Become a Chess Master
The game of chess is one of the most ancient and popular logic games. The goal of the game is to checkmate your opponent, who is the other player. In this article, we will provide several tips for beginning chess players to improve their game.
 Plan your strategy
If you move recklessly, you might win a few games but will have little chance of winning consistently. You need to study the game, learn how each piece moves and develop an understanding of the strategies involved in playing well. You can find many books on chess that can help you with this.
 Learn notation
In order to improve, you'll need to be able to record the moves of your games so that you can review them later. Learning how to record the moves (called algebraic chess notation) is quite simple and helps you keep track of your games. Also, if you want to learn from better players, it's essential that you understand algebraic chess notation.
Learn to live with your mistakes
Unfortunately, mistakes happen in chess, even for grandmasters! However, don’t beat yourself up over them – learn from them and then let it go. If you spend too much time dwelling on what went wrong in a game that has already been played, you won’t have time left over to focus on what matters most – winning!
Keep at least one piece of defense throughout the game
Even if it means sacrificing a pawn, don't let your opponent get an open lane for a checkmate! If you're about to be checkmated, give up something else instead of your king... even if that means losing a queen or another big piece.
Practice Against A Variety Of Opponents
When you're practicing, it's important that you play against different opponents so that you can develop strategies for dealing with different styles of gameplay. The more experience you have playing against different people, the easier it will be for you to determine what move is going to be the most effective in any given situation.
Study endgames
Endgames are often neglected by players who enjoy the tactical battle in the middlegame. However, there are many interesting endings and it's important for every club player to learn them well so as not to spoil their hard work in the middlegame by blundering away a won position. Endings with pawns and endings without pawns should both be studied extensively in order for a player
Watch Grandmaster Chess Games
Another great tip is to watch grandmaster games and pay attention to how they play their openings and how they proceed through mid-game and endgame stages of gameplay. You'll get an idea of how they think about strategy and tactics as well as how they plan out their moves in advance.
Never forget about the king!
It may seem obvious, but beginners often make mistakes with their kings that cost them the game. When your opponent is threatening your king, do not ignore it! Make sure your king has safe squares to move to as well as pawns or other pieces that can protect it.
Be flexible and adapt to new positions
In order to succeed at chess, you must be able to adapt to new situations. When your opponent makes a move that changes the landscape of the game, you must be able to respond accordingly. Even if you have a plan when starting the game, realize that things could change at any moment and make sure you are ready for anything!
Play for the win, not for a draw
Don’t “fake out” your opponent by trying to draw games or just playing around with them – play every game as if you expect to win! Avoid taking too many risks because it could lead to your defeat instead of victory, but don’t be afraid of going all-in when necessary

Brilliant Ways to Develop Your Communication Skills
People who speak English often feel that their language skills are not perfect. Very few people can claim to have a very good command over the language and this becomes very prominent when they have to communicate in English. They feel that their communication skills are not as good as they should be, especially if they are communicating with foreigners. However, it is important to understand that in order to improve your communication skills, you need to take active steps towards it. It does not happen by itself and you will have to put in some effort before you can reach the level of fluency that you want.
Good communication skills are very important in life, not just for students but also for teachers, managers and corporate professionals. It is a fact that people who can speak English well have more opportunities than people who do not have this skill. While there are many ways in which you can improve your language skills, we offer you some excellent tips that can help here:
Make an effort to learn new words every day and use them
One of the most effective ways of improving your English language skills is to make an effort to learn new words every day and use them whenever you get a chance.
Reading
The number one rule is to read as much as possible! Reading books, magazines, news articles, or even blogs can help you learn new vocabulary and take in new information. It will also help you with your grammar. You could get some audiobooks, so you can listen while you are doing other things like commuting, exercising etc.
Watching movies and shows
Watching movies and TV shows is another excellent way to learn English. Most movies have subtitles that display the text on the screen at the same time as it is spoken. Start out with a few movies or shows in your native language (with English subtitles). As your skills improve, try watching them with English subtitles first, then eventually turn off the subtitles altogether. This will help you get better at understanding natural spoken English.
Listening to podcasts
Listening to podcasts is a great way to hear native speakers talk about a variety of subjects that interest you. They are also good because they are mobile – you can listen to them on your smartphone or tablet while doing other

Tips On Improving Your English Communication And Personality Development
There are so many tips on how to improve your English communication and personality development but the most important tips are "practice" and "be yourself".
Tip 1-  Always be polite, respectful, and honest.
Tip 2-  Practice makes perfect. Practice at least 20 minutes every day in front of a mirror or video recorder to improve your English communication.
Tip 2- Watch English movies, listen to English music and talk with friends.
I believe that understanding the culture of a country is very important because you can't force yourself to change someone's culture. If you want to understand a culture you need to spend more time with people who live in that country and learn about their history, language and customs by talking with them.

FIXED VS GROWTH: THE TWO BASIC MINDSETS THAT SHAPE OUR LIVES
It is a fact that what we think is what we become. Our thought process can be our biggest cheerleader or our biggest enemy. Our mind plays a very powerful role in what we believe and how we think. Being the basic kids spoken-English classes Dehradun, The Talk Room strongly believes that what we think about ourselves and our abilities decides how we act and lead our life. If you imagine less, less is what you get or deserve! If you dream big and constantly work on it, you will surely get the results. Our belief systems about our own abilities and potential fuel our behavior and predict our success!
How do you face failure?
Some may accept failure and live with it, and some may constantly work hard to do better and to improve. Yes, failures can be painful but how we deal with them and come out of them is in our hand and our mindset. A ‘fixed mindset’ assumes that their character, intelligence, and creative ability cannot get better with time, persistence, and efforts. They give up easily with the fear of failure and a belief that they cannot improve.
Basic kids spoken-English classes Dehradun, The Talk Room says that a ‘growth mindset’ on the other hand, finds freedom in their thought and beliefs. They constantly believe in improving, and they are flexible with changes. They take their failure as an opportunity to develop new skills and grow. Out of these two mindsets, which we manifest from a very early age, it greatly influences our behavior, attitude, decision making in both personal and professional contexts, and also becomes the reason for our happiness.
Kids start showing the sign of a fixed mindset or growth mindset from a very early age. Having a growth mindset is much better than a fixed mindset. A fixed mindset restricts and is not flexible to influence us to make changes which may affect the entire mindset and personality of a kid.
A growth mindset will continuously motivate them to keep learning and doing better with a positive attitude. A growth mindset helps to be successful and to be okay with various new situations in life.
We all have different sentiments, triggers that can activate a fixed mindset. Shifting from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset is not a cakewalk. To imbibe a growth mindset within us, we need to do some research and development within ourselves. Examples are mentioned below.
Instead of telling I cannot do, try saying I can do better.
Instead of telling it is frustrating, say it is okay to fail.
Replace this is hard, with I don’t know yet.
We can bring the change, within us which we wish to see. It is never too late to learn, our brain is highly adaptable to new changes. When we come out of our comfort zone, we give permission to our brain to accept and adjust to new changes. To promote a growth mindset within yourself or kids or any adults, start praising & loving yourself, be open to new opportunities, have the frequent urge to keep learning something new, face your failures come out of it with great learnings. Carol Dweck has very beautifully explained this in her book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success.
The Talk Room, basic kids spoken-English classes Dehradun is the that grooms all the students right from the scratch. It helps them to gain the confidence which they require to spark up their personality. We also conduct online classes for both kids and adults. To get more information get in touch with us! Vantika Agarwal’s Thriving Chess Journey
Ranked 1st in India, 3rd in Asia and 17th in the world in FIDE rankings, Vantika Agrawal last year became a gold medal winner in the Chess Olympiad in which India and Russia were the joint winners.
Woman International Master at the age of 14, and gold medal winner at the age of 17, is a really astonishing thing to achieve at this young age, but this is how you will describe her incredible chess journey. From her very fast rise in the ratings to her consistent hard work as well as dedication, she is definitely on the fast road to being a great chess player.
This young girl has achieved a lot in this short time as her achievements are speaking for themselves and also she has been even awarded by Hon’ble Former President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee as well as Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Her crowning glory was the part of the Indian team for winning Olympiad gold for the first time ever.
Vantika Agrawal’s Successful Journey of Chess
Her journey of chess starts at a very early age as she won the gold medal in U-9 girls, Asian Schools Chess, 2011, Delhi. From there she has been winning one competition after the other.
Participating in Olympiad, Vantika was lucky to get a place on the Indian team. Her strategy proceeding into the competition was to just give her greatest performance and contribute as much as she could to the team. She did that pretty well by getting 3.5/4 in the league stage, where India ended first, taking down a robust Chinese squad.
As the Indian squad started into the playoffs, Vantika remained calm as well as confident. And when there was a tie in the final, all the players were happy and for Vantika it was really a dream come true. Even though it was online, but it was her first Olympiad. She even says that playing with her team has made her even more motivated.
