Is talking about personal matters really necessary? Hey, we get it. Teaching is not easy! Moreover, you brave soldiers that do venture into it are often met with a hectic schedule and unmanageable students. So naturally, some of you may feel like sharing your frustrations with your class. Perhaps, you’d just like your students to listen to you talk about your family and the experiences you have.
But to what extent is this acceptable? I think we can all agree that talking about personal matters in class is generally not encouraged. However, you may sometimes need to cite examples from your life to illustrate something for your students. I think it’s safe to say that talking about your private affairs should only happen under certain specific circumstances.

How did this teacher reward his students for acing their exams?
27 July, Vishakapatnam: K. Venkata Srinivasa Rao, a teacher of Zilla Parishad High School promised his students that if they did well in their exams, he would take them on their first air trip to Hyderabad. And guess what? He kept his word!
Two of his students who got perfect scores on their exam accompanied him and his wife to Hyderabad. They visited all the usual tourist spots: Golconda Fort, Charminar and the Nizam’s Museum and had a blast from 19-22 July.
Mr. Rao says that his goal was to encourage students to do well academically by gifting them with slightly expensive incentives, a tool usually limited to private schools.

Students will respond positively when a teacher is enthusiastic and passionate about the content they are teaching. Excitement is contagious! Introducing new content enthusiastically piques the interest of the students. They wonder behind the reason for the excitement and therefore are more interested in learning about it. If you are not excited, why should your students be excited?

Teaching is a tough job to-do and all teachers have some effective teaching methods and strategies. This fact cannot be ignored because turning a bunch of misfits into what we can call civilized personalities is surely near impossible. But this impossible job is done by none other than teachers and educators. When it comes to being a role model, we always try to reflect the best image of ours so that the coming generation looks up to us. Teachers are the role models of their students and they must ensure they get nothing wrong. A teacher is someone who understands and teaches accordingly to the students. Hence, the teachers must also ensure that they give their best to the students so that they can learn easily without being terrified of anything.

Every kid loves a teacher who is lighthearted and has a good sense of humour. Everything becomes so much more fun and easy! Kids love a good laugh, especially if it happens in a classroom in the company of their friends. If teachers are able to loosen up, abandon their strict book of rules, and seek humour as a tool to make a point, it becomes more effective. Additionally, it’s received better than demanding something. However, humour does not mean mockery or sarcasm. Here, it refers to sharing an educative joke or transforming a concept into a meme. This will definitely link fun and education!
