'Confident in being confused' Armaan | अरमान 40 min, India/2016
This documentary takes us on a whimsical musical journey through the eyes of three musical proteges. Engulfing us in their efforts to be one with music, be it through their crazies, their ambition or their vision. The unifying power of music that brings together a national award winner, a confused guitarist and a reality serial rejected aspirant.

Notes on Quarantine
When the future is vulnerable, the present becomes valuable. You practise so much with observation that you start thinking in images. The same happened in the starting few days, the comfort in the thought of not moving anytime soon made me meditative in the practise of observing mundane daily moments and actions through an evolved gaze. This new gaze allowed me to unlock the locked inside me. The pandemic politely explained my privilege to me starting with the haunting politics in the image of migrant workers walking miles and miles on foot to reach their own land. I started questioning the idea of institutionalised structure of community living. When the state proved that viruses do not discriminate but society does, I felt the birth of new locks inside me which might take a lot of pandemics to find a key to those extremely uncomfortable locks. The observation of chaos around you develops an aesthetic acceptance of the little remains of virgin beauty left around you, spending a lot of time with world interpretation of truth in the form of sight & sound I realised how spiritually rejuvenating and healing cinema can be. Instead of taking you few steps closer to the world and the eco system you are existing in, it has the power to take you little closer to yourself. In the end it is all about the fascinating idea of time and I would like to end this with a short excerpt I read during quarantine about the idea of time.
Stavrogin: . . in the Apocalypse the angel swears that there'll be no more time.
Kirillov: I know. It's quite true, it's said very clearly and exactly. When the whole of man has achieved happiness, there won't be any time, because it won't be needed. It's perfectly true.
Stavrogin: Where will they put it then?
Kirillov: They won't put it anywhere. Time isn't a thing, it's an idea. It'll die out in the mind.
— F. Dostoievsky, The Possessed
