I watched Shaman King Flowers and oh man, I am so glad the creator of this wasn't hired to write Boruto, because compared to Hana, Sarada has it so good. Her parents didn't bring her to a warzone when she was a baby and then leave her with family friends while they fucked off and did other things for her whole life. Holy shit, no wonder Hana has anger issues.

But all in all, Shaman King Flowers is lit, I really enjoyed the story and humour (I gave up on understanding the power system, it stopped making sense way back when they all started resurrecting in the first series). The kamikaze pilot Sakurai is so cool. 9/10 please continue

I'm trying to get back into writing. Cooking up a dark Itachi/Izumi fic and continuing Stolen Sakura because I miss writing SasuSaku and ssmonth is coming soon. I looked if there are any prompts for this year, but didn't find any. So I'll just try working on my WIPs.

I came across the some of your Naruto fics and I really loved “Man in the Picture”, but I noticed it hasn’t been touched since 2019. I’m not sure if you will continue but I wanted to know if you knew how it was going to end?

Yes, I know the ending - I have a clear picture of it in my mind. I made an outline for the story. I expect if I wrote all of it, it would be easily double the current length. Probably more, knowing my tendency to overwrite.

I like to say "Never say never" when it comes to finishing old fics. But my current work schedule is draining enough that I rarely have mental energy to write :(

Seasonal anime recs for Spring 2022

So it’s time to expose my taste again, lol

The Good

Spy x Family

Wholesome and amusing story of a spy adopting a little girl and unknowingly marrying an assassin to fulfill his new assignment. In the process they become a real family. I believe this is the kind of show that is a good fun for everyone.

The Funny

Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu

I read the manga and I’m enjoying the adaptation. A guy is reborn in a otome game world that he was forced to play and has a bone to pick with most of the braindead characters. Heh.

The RomCom

Koi wa Sekai Seifuku no Ato de

This is what happens when you mix lovers on opposite sides with Power Rangers. Pretty fun couple. Desumi is best girl.

The Sports

Ao Ashi

I already posted about it, basically a football anime. I’m enjoying it so far, the main character is endearing with his confidence, grit and desire to improve as a player. And the plays actually look good (unlike coughDayscough).

The Edge

Tomodachi Game

A group of friends is kidnapped and forced to play games with the stakes of very high debt. The games are designed for them to start distrusting each other and break their friendship. It’s interesting and I like the Drama. Heh.

The Shitshow that I still like

Baraou no Souretsu

This isn’t anime, it’s a slideshow. The first episodes were so rushed too. But I can’t help but keep watching this show, because I like the characters and their Drama. The plot follows Richard who has gender issues and it’s basically anime version of War of the Roses in England based on Shakespeare plays. Don’t expect historical accuracy. After the show ends, I’ll probably try reading the manga.

I can’t believe a guy on YT was seriously recommending F91 as a starter Gundam for people. That’s a terrible choice. Just start with the first one or anything else that looks good. Order doesn’t matter that much.

I started with compilation movies of the first Gundam because I wanted to see if I liked it enough to watch more and that was enough. But I think other series can be starting points too because every series is its own story. Even Narrative movie is a separate, complete story and quite good actually. Unlike F91 which is too underdeveloped both in story and characters. All it has going on is pretty visuals.

NGE is obviously a Victory Gundam fanfiction, it took too many ideas and characters from it.

Honestly the impact Sasuke has. Anytime someone describes an anime and there’s an angsty serious character they always go “they’re like the Sasuke of the show”. Sasuke is an adjective. A whole adjective. If you think your fav is different. Just know they’re not. Sasuke did it first. They can never be Sasuke.

Ashita no Joe has a love confession “Thank you” scene that’s almost the same as Sakura’s confession scene.
