Rolling peaks of green that speak of things that seem so avoidable - treetops higher than mountaintops - nothing stops them from topping the tallest. Above all, they paint life, a quaint life as they acquaint life around. Like trees, we stand atop all, branded to this land that granted us our life. Candidly, it commanded me, standardly abandoned me - slandered and mishandled me, expanded, and supplanted me - until it handed me you. A hue of blue, not quite a true blue, but a view to pursue greater than true... Before I knew it, it was you that drew it, you to brew it - no way to subdue it. You grew it. I've been through a lot, there is always a cost, I did draw my lot but life did accost. A fingertip, soft word of lip, a moral slip, abhor the grip. I board the ship and ignore the script. I didn't know you and didn't show you all that I am. I saw you, the Shaw you, unperturbed "the law" you. Your true self, propped on a shelf, the selfless and the flawed you. The hurt and the laud you, and the fraud me, the one that clawed me. It sawed me and gnawed me, and you accepted me - not expected me - but respected me. I rejected a dejected me, and you protected an infected me, you detected the neglected me and corrected the effected me - you inspected the uncollected me and stepped forward to intersect and connect with me.

The First First
Let life fade, all that made this infinite braid
For words not brayed to fray this perfect weave
Then all that could - should, would, exist,
No thing left that does resist.
Not left to desire, I require more to re-fire yore.
The log that burns with flames that turn
And a heat that spurns all that we yearn.
A yesterday, no lesser say
It's always there, now - then - and when
What we've felt is what we weave -
Frayed and 'Fraid this braid that stayed
Is all we've made, all we've laid,
Like bricks we lay to help us stray
From lone path that once repaved.
A moment's thought, not one that's taught,
It comes and stays, and can't be bought.
It hums and prays, refuses sought.
A fray or stray, imperfect perfections
Create the ray that shines through day
To grant you light unknown to all
But known to all - just not felt,
until you fall.

From Stone to Home
Shadows play and sway along the gray beneath our feet,
trees bob and weave against the breeze on this eve
where our hands meet to weave a deep reprieve so sorely needed.
Her lips retrieve what once made me grieve, I can finally breathe.
White light paints the sky and pales to her radiance
as her smile lights up her eyes -
pure blue stars bright as day that warm my heart and form my art.
From the start she tore apart a perception of dejection
I had made my own - sewn into bone,
she clipped the threads that made me stone
and rewrote the story that made me lone.
She called me home and now we roam
with love that's grown from seed to flower.

Eternally Infinite
It started with her smiles,
for miles and miles
they lined the aisles
within my mind.
She defined love for me,
and from above
realigned a broken mind
that was resigned to settle.
Cold metal slides from my wrists,
and balled fists release their grips
on the brokenness of a past's twists.
She persists as I insist,
and mutually we begin to exist again,
and finally I'm kissed again.
I tried to abstain,
but like champagne at a celebration -
resolve wanes. Now she reigns,
and like the arcane -
through my veins she is ingrained.
And for forever, I will never
Want to sever our love together -
So through infinity, blessed by divinity
We will love each other eternally.

A Dream Come True
When embers ignite,
I will fan the flames of passion
that spring forth -
that they may burn away
all that's turned away, our love.
I yearn the day that I learn
the way in which you raise
the name we have prayed for.
We are what we've stayed for,
what we've strayed for,
and what we've paid for.
I laid awake, waiting to take
what makes me stake my life
and break my strife -
to have a wife that
drives me to describe
love as bright and not as ice.
A choice, not nice,
but a choice more wise
than continual demise.
And while we rise and fall -
As our sleeping chests -
We do what we must to survive.

When you love me,
loads and loads and loads and loads -
I can tell it's the absolute mostest.
So when you yawned and it dawned on me
That I am more than fond of you - I knew
That my love for you was just as big
As your love for me and I see that we
Experienced everything we had to
In order to become who we are for each other.
You're my lover, you're my friend, you're my world
And I'll forever tend - until the end -
This love we share, this perfect pair.
So when you tell me, you love me
Bunches and bunches and bunches
And my face scrunches into the smile
That metaphorically punches your heart
I know I will see magnificence again
As your lips part and your teeth bare
To show me the smile that I live for.

Sparks
Like naked fire I see desire dancing in your eyes
Voracious and flirtatious it takes us ever higher.
I can't deny her and now she's wired through my soul,
The sole owner of my whole, the sealer of this hole -
She holds me tight, so bold and right
all through the night to wake me with her light.
I see her smile and for a while I cannot find my thought,
Amazed and dazed, her lips ablaze she watches what she caught.
Then lips lock, and bodies rock, and sparks begin to flock
As the clock ticks and we talk, time begins to stop.
She's right there, with lovely hair - I just can't help but stare.
Gracefully she makes for me, to take from me
The love that she deserves - my love for her reserved.

The Last Beginning
I see divinity, and through infinity
The consistency of my affinity
For you will become antiquity
As our love goes down in history
And not just as his story -
But her story too - don't worry,
For without you by my side
There is only one side to my story
And that would be fine, but lack glory.
You are glorious, and I am curious
To see you furious, and victorious,
Even imperious because you make us.
Us is what I want, in a font that says
"Envy them" in bold letters as I write
Letters to you that unfold with your heart
And we break apart from our past and into our start.

Life 360
Your simple reassurance, like water and sunlight
To withered crops, revitalizes my soul.
The barest communication, light as a feather
Acts as a tether that brings us together -
Full circle - three-hundred and sixty degrees
Becomes my body temperature as you reignite
The fight inside me, I'll burn bright tonight.
You might not know, the light that grows
Beneath what shows is what guides this prose.
I suppose until I can't, I'll hold this pose,
Hand outstretched, heart exposed - this, I chose.

Sweet Dreams
I'm up at 2:05 in the morning,
Waiting for words that won't come
Just like the sleep that I need.
Sleep that is gone because not too long ago
You told me hello, you told me goodnight
And sweet dreams and when your head leans
Against my shoulder it means that you're comfortable
Within my arms, and the scars and the harms
That have been inflicted remain but are calm.
When the palm of your hand is the balm of my heart
And the smile on your face is what occupies its space
I write until 2:22 in the morning,
Mourning a loss whose cost has been embossed
On my soul which is lost, and with my heart that is crossed
And my hope to die, a thousand needles in my eye
I plead on my knees to a God that won't heed what I need.
That's you, the you that you don't see - the you that is to me
The easiest to view, the easiest to see, the easiest to breathe
At 2:39 in the morning while I'm awake dreaming
Of the meaning of us meeting, of both our hearts beating
And chests with heavy breathing, a sunset smile gleaming,
And sky blue eyes beaming, those eyes that seem to see me.
They make me want to be me, it's like they want to teach me
It's like they want to reach me, its like they want to breach me.
Dive behind my own and remind your heart what's known -
Deeper than to bone, the feelings that have grown
And the love that has been shown will never be alone.
So at 3:04 in the morning, I hope for a goodnight
As I end what I write and recite one more time -
"so I'll blow on the embers beneath rain soaked wood
In the middle of a storm until fire catches."

Her breath takes mine away and I sway
She pulls away and I press to stay -
Right against her lips, mine play.
A stray glance to say, "do you feel me?"
Her eyes ignite my own, and I bite
Now I write to burn the sight -
With all my might - into that night.
Her voice is lost she makes the choice -
A bared whisper as I kissed her -
"I want you."

I'm jealous, overzealous -
I want to spell "us" on a trellis
so no one can tell us
what the hell is right.
I'd add bright lights so night eyes
can read between the crossed lines
to find that our love combines.
It's not right, but it's not wrong -
what we found after so long
shouldn't end with "so long"
like the end of a sad song.
It's too strong, in your arms I belong
and though life can be long
I'd charge headlong
into something that could be lifelong
With you.

When your lips are ready,
I will kiss them.
I will kiss you.
When your lips are ready
Let slip the words
That will sound the beginning.
When your lips are ready
Welcome me home
into the arms found only in my dreams.
When your lips are ready
Lock them with mine
For they have been ready for you.

Whisper Thought
A still heart beats again; sound returns first, drinking in the world around as the river rushes and the wind blows between leaves once halted in time. Sight ignites right before his eyes shut tight, too bright, a sight beheld too light to be held back by night or felled by sleight. Smells seep through the rue, and food tastes true once more and not like roux - a few more breaths right side her neck, so close to peck - so close to wreck. A deck of thoughts to trek across as her arms cross his back and he feels her cost - coin tossed to wish this frost dismissed - all he missed returns as the mist dispersed and he was her's, even if only for a moment.

Cascade Serenade
The time will come.
Days will fade, as nights grow darker.
Nights will sharpen, as days grow starker.
Sights do change, as time exchange -
A minute paid, a minute cost,
A fair trade, a coin tossed.
The time is coming.
Days still blend, as nights do pass.
Nights still phase, as days do mass.
Sights arranged, as minds estrange.
Ten minutes paid, a minute cost,
A fair trade, a check embossed.
The time is close.
Days shall sink, as nights breathe deeper.
Nights shall shine, as days breathe weaker.
Sights deranged, memories unchanged.
Your life is paid, a minute cost,
A fair trade, a fortune lost.
The time has come, you hear the drums,
Rhythmic beats as strings do strum.
A chorus hums, as life succumbs.
The time has come, and all shall fade -
Save what's shared, and loved ones made.
The gates do bade, be unafraid -
Your love cascade, a sweet serenade.

Growing Pains
It's the small things,
They rest in the background
Of the most immaculate image.
They blur in shades of grey,
Mere whispers among a chorus
That are drowned out amongst
The most vibrant rainbow.
"You could have done better,
I've seen you do better -
I could tell the nerves got to you."
"I'm here for you
And I always will be,
until I am no longer. "
They bleed into normality
Seeping through the cracks
Of broken households
Spurring envy into action.
Where your feet are grounded
Mine have no traction.
Of stories told and praise sounded,
For me, it's just redaction.
I cannot see the words
That rang hollow in your ears
As day after day they accumulate
Like fallen leaves upon your lawn -
One and two, three and four,
Until they blow across your door -
Just more work to look upon
As dusk turns light and moves to dawn
Another day where you're the son,
And I am just the lawn.

When I was young, I had this illusion.
The best country ever - a forgone conclusion.
I was taught to have pride in our flag
To stand and recite, and always to brag;
"One nation, under god, indivisible,
With liberty and justice for all."
One nation, under fraud, inadmissable,
Forced delivery, and just us that fall.
In my short time I have seen the colors
That we brandish turn from red, white, and blue
To red, black, and blue, as they warp what is true.
This is domestic violence, we're all in the queue.
One step forward and ten steps back
They dont want us to be on the right track.
They want our submission and full division
They force our admission, no need for permission.
They play at magician while we sign petitions
And hope for transition away from "tradition".
Now your physician can push their position,
"An act of contrition" is your imposition.
Now you're in position to bend to their vision.
