WE WERE ALL RIGHT. IT WAS BECAUSE HE WAS A LITTLE BITCH ABOUT IT. And then the cut at the end to Will acting like an exasperated boyfriend. Much to discuss.

{Text on screen: We were really excited to give Macklin his award}

Sharks admin hands Mack his award: "Most Viral Moments".

Mack, still sweaty and in gear, tries and fails to give a fake smile, then gives it up to look disappointed and shuffles. "Alright. That's." (grimaces down at it)"...So I was...like. (puts his hand on his hip) I dunno. That's fine."

{Text on screen: And he hated it 😞}

Admin: "What did--what did you want?"

Mack: "I dunno." (swipes his hair back and bares his teeth) "Just--" (looks down at award again) "I'm kinda disappointed."

{Text on screen: So we tried again!}

Admin hands Mack a new award: "Most Tablet Time"

Mack, in the same outfit (plus jacket) he wore to film his 'Coach says not everything is a two person job' tiktok with Will, looks at it, heaves a sigh and smiles incredulously. "Are you serious? I don't like this one either!" (He turns to the side to show the paper to an off-screen Will. Will says nothing.)

{Text on screen: And again}

Admin (who clearly expected this): "Alright, what about this one?"

Mack: "K."

Admin hands Mack another award: "Chocolate Chip Cookie Enthusiast"

Mack turns immediately to Will again, smiling slightly: "This is a little bit better." (turns back to admin) That's a little bit..." (shows the award to the camera)

{Text on screen: We're getting somewhere...}

"Chocolate chip en--" (seems to forget it, looks back at the award to read it) "Chopo--chop--" (takes a breath, turning red and smiling) "chocolate chip cookie enthusiast." (shuffles, tries and fails to put his hand in his pocket and sniffs) "So that one's fine."

{Text on screen: And again... until}

Admin hands Mack a final award: "Multi-sport athlete"

Mack, nodding firmly, clears his throat, "This one I can get behind." (Looks over at Will, gearing up to tease him, and then back at admin) "This one I can get behind."

{Text on screen: We had a winner!!!}

Mack looks down and begins counting sports off with his fingers. "There's sewer, football, golf..." (seems to forget to list hockey, looks at Will)

Will, quietly from off screen: "That's not actually it, right?"

Mack, showing him the paper and excited to engage in chirping. "Yeah--"

Will (incredulous): "Shut up. I hate that."

Mack: "--multi-sport athlete."

Camera pans to Will, in the same outfit from the aforementioned tiktok, leaning against a barrier with one hand on his hip. Deadpan but trying not to smile: "Okay, let's burn that."

(There is an extended pause wherein Will smiles fondly at an off-screen Mack, clearly waiting for him to chirp back)

Off-screen, Mack: "I'm better than you--

Will (shaking his head): "--no"

Off screen, Mack: "at golf--"

Will (laughing): "--nope"

Camera pans back to Mack, counting sports off his fingers again: "--soccer, basketball--"

Off-screen, Will, abruptly: "Let's cut the video."

Mack stares at Will, unsure, but incapable of stopping "--football, like..." (looks down at the award again, grimaces, and trails off)

Will, off-screen, beginning to sound genuinely annoyed (or making a very good pretense of it): "Now we're lying."

Mack shrugs, looks back at Will to try to figure out if he's seriously mad and where the chirping crossed a line. Looks back down at the award, makes a confused 'well okay then' motion, and then repeats the motion in a much bitchier 'it's not MY fault' way.
