Orion: It's not that, honestly she'll probably like to travel the stars.
Orion: Yeah, they are. They just need to fix Oppy for me, and making sure they are okay.
Orion: Or y'know bring Oppy back to earth so she can be maintenance before being sent back to mars.
Teagan: Well aren't you lucky then.
Teagan: I hate to break it to you but I don't think Oppy is getting a rescue mission, my friend. She had a fun run though.
Teagan: I think it would be less expensive to just make an Opportunity 2.0 Rover.

Throwing her head back, the princess sighed loudly. She had so much to do and yet she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a small break. “Fine. I’ll go with you. Promise to have me back by six?”
“It’s called an adventure for a reason and you’re going.” Kamaria said with a definite tone in her voice. “It’ll be fun, I promise, and if you hate it I won’t bother you again.”

Orion: Hypothetical question, but how much will it take to send someone to mars?
Orion: Y'know just to check on something, and maybe y'know fix that something?
Teagan: If you don't like your betrothed, I'm sure you can find another way to avoid them.
Teagan: It all depends though. Are "they" coming back? I'm pretty sure that all the government missions went well over $1000M.

“I think I’d give just about anything in the world to have some kettle corn. I’d love to keep you company, if you don’t mind.”
“I’m taking Akari for a walk, does anyone want anything from town while we’re out?”

The more they connected, the more obnoxious Eliza felt. There was a possibly that she’d read him all wrong. They had some similarities and writing him off so quickly was not something she was proud of. People passed judgement without a second thought and now, even she was guilty of doing so. “I don’t think you’re such a bad guy. You want people to think you are, so that’s what they see. We all have our defense mechanisms.” She shrugged off the latter part of his statement. Being committed was not her strong suit. She was far too egotistical to have a longterm partner and be faithful. On the other hand, she’d never actually put forth the effort to be a good girlfriend. If she had to prove herself to Aksel then it was only fair that he do the same. “So you expect me to just be unconditionally and irrevocably devoted to a man I barely know? How do I know you’re worth it? What’s in it for me?” The princess crooned before she could everything through in its entirety. The words spilling from her mouth sounded foreign even to her, an indication that she was undoubtedly drunk. In hindsight, it wasn’t such a good idea to drink her weight in aged wines tonight. “You’re joking right?” She giggled, gazing up at him with doe-like eyes when she realized he wasn’t. Eliza abruptly propped herself up with a hand on his knee, fingers reaching up to brush against his neck. “You poor baby. It happens to the best of us. That’s what they say right? I always leave before I’m left. At least that way, I’m the one who decides.” Maybe they both had their minds made up to make this arrangement burdensome from the moment they saw each other. She wasn’t ready to be married and it was becoming more apparent that neither was Aksel.

the princess was no stranger to seeking comfort in eduardo, but this need for validation was like a dull pain in her side. it was fleeting, usually passing just as quickly as it washed over her. the idea of not being enough for someone was mind boggling. she took a swig of the golden colored liqour, and another, and then another until she finally felt the bubbles coursing through her veins. it was depressing, watching everyone else fall in love like fools while she was stuck trying to prove herself to a man she didn’t want to be with anyway. “is this what other girls feel like? undesirable, i mean. he looked at me like i was the most pathetic person he’d ever seen.” she rambled on. eliza wasn’t fishing for sympathy from the male, however, she knew she had it. they had a way of seeing things from the other’s perspective. shifting her body to face him, the blonde extended her hand for him to take. “are my parents really to blame? perhaps i really am insufferable. i know that i can be opinionated. maybe i am a bit bossy, or entitled or whatever. it’s just not fair. he wants me to jump through hoops and i’m stupid enough to actually fall for it.”

“I think the point is to burn them...or to not burn them? It’s hard to be certain.” The princess spoke up, glancing away from the book she had her head buried in. Eliza was never one for small talk but it was better to have more friends than enemies. Sticking a piece of chocolate into her mouth, she turns toward the other woman. “I take it that you’re not really a party person either.”
Scarlet wasn’t exactly a fan of large events like a bonfire, but she knew if she didn’t show up her brother and Claudia would assume something was wrong with her which was something she was trying to avoid as much as she could. She wasn’t exactly planning on being there for long but she did decide to make a marshmallow as she sat near the fire watching carefully as it turned brown

Eliza was inconspicuously spiking her mug of hot chocolate with irish whiskey when she spotted Lilya. Somehow, she had managed to complete forget the young princess was also being held here. It seemed a bit odd not running into each other until now. Approaching the princess, she offered the small bottle that was hidden in the pocket of her cardigan. “You look like you’re having just as much fun as I was until I found this. Maybe it’ll lift your spirits.” The blonde suggested.
Getting in even a small disagreement with Sasha was soul crushing for Lilya much less anything larger than that. However for some reason the recent one weighed far more heavily on her and she had hidden away from everyone she usually surrounded herself with only to come out for the bonfire because she felt as if she had to. Instead of being near the fire though she decided to hang by the outskirts of everything trying to not bother anyone.

“If you try to slip out of here I promise you I will make the biggest scene.” She warned only half joking. Though the invitation out to the bonfire was proposed like a suggestion, it felt more mandatory than anything else. It was a good excuse to get out of her head for once but she was growing annoyed with the large crowd of people. “If you leave, who will I complain to?”
Juliet would much rather be in her room away from what she was sure to be a night of people trying to figure out who was better than someone else. Honestly the only reason she had even shown up was in the hopes of seeing Jack otherwise she wouldn’t have, or maybe to spend time with one of her siblings. “Do you think I can leave after an hour without anyone noticing?” She asked curiously.

It was an interesting way of dancing around the question but she wouldn’t complain. Aksel was her senior so it was safe to assume he’d thought this through at least once. Still, he proved that in the right setting he would allow her to make her own choices. “Maybe you aren’t so demanding after all.” The blonde confessed, though it was unclear how much it would all last. She took the opportunity to sprawl across his lap until she was comfortable, her hand propping up her head so that she could still see his features. Regardless of the dim lighting he was still striking. “A palace full of marabou trim robes would make me elated.” Her sentiment was intended to be teasing and hopefully it would be decoded that way. Her fingers trailed over the arm of the chair and onto his leg, taking her time to find the right words to convey her feelings. “I haven’t really decided yet–about any of it, really. I never really had to. The majority of my relationships have been....casual. It’s always been easier that way,” She flipped over onto her back before continuing, “What about you? It may be a strange thing to ask now that we’re supposed to happily ever after or whatever.”

With hopes of a truce on the rise, the air in the room changed. Perhaps it was less difficult to be placid in each other’s presence. The princess’s gaze fell to her lap as he went on dictating the terms of their so-called relationship. Parading around carelessly with her old lover didn’t seem to be an option anymore. Mateo was someone she loved dearly and that wouldn’t be so easy to let go of so soon. They were the worst people for each other but in the palace walls her mind began to wander and keeping her hands to herself was impossible. “Yes.” She nodded then, the white lie slipping through her teeth. The promise was already broken before she uttered the words. “That makes perfect sense to me– except the pregnant part. What would you say if I said children are a nuisance? Better yet, what if I said I wanted to have ten?” The questions were posed to shift the subject matter. Of course, this was an important conversation to have in the long run anyhow so trading one controversial topic for another was fair. Eliza had given little time to contemplating having children in the first place.

In the night, they loved like the sun would never come up. But each time it did, she uttered those all two familiar words. What they were doing was completely childish and they both knew it. Tangling themselves up in the sheets and in each other wouldn’t change their fate. Behind those large doors to the prince’s bedroom, there was a whole world outside. They both had obligations to fulfill that they’d never asked for to begin with. Moments like this made it easy to forget how much pain they’ve caused one another- both intentional and unintentional. With her lip embedded between her teeth, she gazed at him with both admiration and longing. She missed him so much already and she hadn’t even left. Her eyes urged him to suggest that she stay, as if one day together would change anything at all.
A small sigh escaped her lips as she caved into his wish. Her azure orbs looked toward the ceiling and then back at him, studying the stubble across his jaw. The intimacy made goosebumps appear down her back. How could loving one person be so wrong and so right at the same time? “Mais j'aime quand tu mendies.” She mused then with her usual playfulness. Her head fell back onto his chest and she clung to him like an infant. Eliza was never this needy. She chuckled as the French rolled off his tongue almost as easily as a native speaker. “It’s okay to miss one day.” She repeated with a weak smile. The princess told herself that they weren’t hurting anyone, yet.

“That’s the thing,” Eliza took a swallow from the bottle before continuing, “I think his problem is me. He went into this big lecture about how he’s not just going to hand me the world. Something about earning it or whatever. If he doesn’t let up I’m putting in a petition to trade.” Her confession was facetious. She was almost positive they were stuck with each other so learning to live together was the only option.
