this is just a cute little au i thought of. well actually funny story, i have 2 yttd hk au'z. this one is where they are just bugz in the world. and the other one is them actually as the hk characterz. but i don't wanna ramble abt it now.

sara- vessel bc the main character in hk is a vessel so why not. she wieldz a keymaster key instead of a nail as a weapon

joe- actually was gonna make him a firefly but then i forgot lumafliez exist (which are basically the hk versionz of firefliez) so he'z based off those

gin- a bee bc i had the cute idea of making his fluff shaped like cat earz

keiji- moth. got inspired by looking at poodle mothz bc they are just the cutest

kai- ant, not much to it but he does look like a prince so

q-taro- beetle. but he'z built like one of the large beetle enemiez in the game except he wieldz a bat instead of a nail

shin- butterfly. idrk why but

kanna- mosskin (in game speciez) bc, well i mean come on

alice- spider. him and reko are spider siblingz

i've complained about using the literal words wife/girlfriend/etc as the only measure of whether something is explicit rep, but in steven universe's case its particularly dense because like... steven calls rupphire his favorite couple. ruby asks sapphire to marry her. hello? that's literally the exact same level of obviousness as saying wife/girlfriend/etc, its just that literalness in a different context.

just. its right there. why did this become a thing. why do even people defending SU on twitter make it out like its this ambiguous "step" towards "better", more explicit representation. a marriage is as explicit as it gets, even if it was on a freakin' silent film. y'all are just being dumb at this point.
