{♛}-- Blue eyes widened in surprise before they whipped away, refusing to meet Mikasa's gaze. She wouldn't allow the other girl to see the guilt loosely hidden beneath the cold mask she liked to sport.

"It was necessary." And it was cruel. And the guilt of just leaving everyone to worry, especially Armin, had torn a hole somewhere Annie had thought long dead. It wasn't fair that she snuck back to make sure Reiner and Bertolt knew she was safe, and instead she ended up speaking with Armin. Not to any of them. "Does it really matter anymore?"

{♛}-- "The queen always conquers, Armin." She insisted, resisting the urge to smirk. "To destroy my things, you'll have to sacrifice your own. You'll be destroyed before me."

When Armin clutched her hand between his own, a small tinge of pink colored Annie's cheeks. Her fingers were a bit cold, but they warmed up soon enough with his help. It was a nice sensation, this small amount of intimacy.

"It's a better gesture than finding something the color of my eyes." She mused. Krista had that problem with Reiner quite a bit, and the seemingly endless hordes of suitors she had. Annie much preferred the sentimentality of Armin's gift, though it was a bit hard to express the feeling.

"I didn't think you'd forget my voice so quickly." Annie murmured, dropping her hands from his eyes, and covering his mouth instead so there would be no shouting. There was no need to alert anyone to her presence. (I WAS WEAK AND GOT ON MOBILE)

He could only stand there wide-eyed and speechless. He had to be hallucinating—maybe his head wasn’t healed after all. As it turned out, his inability to form any words didn’t matter because a hand came up and covered his mouth anyways.

Oh god she was actually here.

Without another moment of hesitation Armin jumped forwards and pulled her into the tightest hug he could manage. It might mean his death, but it would be worth it.

{♛}-- Thin lips pursed together at the anger tinging Mikasa's voice, even if it was understandable. "I had to leave." It was a simple statement; it was only half of the truth. Annie had chosen to take the assignment given to her without hesitation, there was no need for her to do anything. Shadis could have found someone else easily enough.

"... I'm sure my disappearance was over looked more than noticed." She was a loner after all, even if people knew she was gone, surely they wouldn't really care.

{♛}— Slim shoulders rose in an uncaring manner. "Are you complaining about my presence?" It was a possibility. To disappear, then show up randomly without any real ruckus... Annie couldn't say she wouldn't be frustrated. She probably would have reacted much worse than the raven haired girl. Especially if she had covered her eyes. Perhaps the blonde subconsciously wanted to start a fight in the hopes of returning things to normal.
