Daydream Hour are sketch art books from mangaka Ryoko Kui. First picture (05) is from some extra pages that she wasn’t able to fit in her latest book, Volume 3, and was published in the Harta magazine volume 74 that released May 15th 2020, while the following 5 pictures, 4 from (15) and 1 from (21), are from the book, this are some of my favorite picks from both sources. All pictures are slightly edited to conform a better composition (that’s why Kabru and Rin are missing a leg)

Tuesday Tip - Beat Boards / Storyboards It can be a daunting task to just “start storyboarding”. Because there’s so many things to think about when storyboarding, we all need a roadmap to know where we are going. Beat boards are not even the first step to creating a story, but it’s often the clearest way to pitch an early concept to someone. It’s also very useful to plan out the larger beats of a large physical sequence (action, chase, etc.). This way, you don’t have to go on a limb for a week or two and have to redo it all if it doesn’t work. They’re sort of like your Key Poses in animation, but put on a story scale.
