Akira: They sound like great parents! I'm sure they'd be delighted if you replied to them.

Cain: Well, I'm not good at writing letters… 'Guess I'll go pay them a visit soon.

Akira: Did you say you were a single child? You seem like the type to have siblings…

Cain: I'm their only son. But I always had people around that were like my siblings. Which were my friends from my hometown and the order,

Akira: So that's why you're reliable like an older brother. 

Cain: Talking about this really takes me back. Guess I'll go drink at my regular bar in Central tonight!

Akira: You're really active even though you don't reply to letters...

Cain: Haha. Well, I was never good with deskwork.

Cain: When you need me,  I probably won't write you a reply, but I'll come right to you.

Akira: According to the Sage’s book, wizards who have to stay far away from their Mana area have an amulet that resembles it.

Akira: Do you have an amulet too, Shylock?

Shylock: Yes. This wine glass is my amulet.

Narrator: Shylock gestured towards a half-empty wine glass on the table.  A dim orange light reflects on its delicate curve.

Akira: I thought all amulets were like good luck charms, but you seem to use yours normally.

Shylock: This is a beautiful glass, It’d be a shame to simply let it sit as a decoration. You may say that this is my wine-drinking partner.

Shylock: My mana area is a winery. When I need to think of it, the wine glass in hand naturally becomes my amulet without fail.

Shylock: Even if I am temporarily unable to go to the winery, I am instantly reminded of its humidity and scent when I put this glass to my lips.

Akira: I see... So amulets are just items that make you feel as if you’re immersed in your mana area…

Shylock: Please feel free to consult me when you choose your amulet, 

Shylock: It sounds pleasant for myself to introduce items that may potentially become your friend.

Akira: (It smells really good too… It’s a strange scent that makes you feel comfortable and sleepy at the same time…)

Akira: Thank you! Now, I’ll- Shylock: Master, please wait. This is undrinkable, to tell you the truth.

Akira: What?

Shylock: This is just a drink you enjoy the scent of. It uses honey from a deadly flower that charms it’s prey with an alluring scent.

Shylock: This honey is often diluted and used as a sleeping pill.

Akira: This is too dangerous!!

Shylock: That was a lie.

Akira: What!? Then, is this drinkable?

Shylock: Yes. I wanted to see you surprised and just could not resist scaring you.

Akira: (That did NOT seem like a lie at all.... It can actually see him using the poison....)

When I was about to leave the table, I felt my fingertips catching onto something.

It was a coffee cup.

Kenja: Wah…!

Arthur: Ah…!

Arthur: … I’m glad I made it in time!

Kenja: The cup is just floating in mid-air…. Thank you, Arthur, it was about to break.

Arthur: I’m glad you didn’t get hurt.

With a delicate and gentle movement, the cup politely returned to its original spot.  Suddenly, Arthur let out a small chuckle.

Kenja: What’s wrong?

Arthur: This reminded me of the first time I used magic.

Arthur: I used to play pranks on the maids when I was in Central Castle. I’d always stop when they were about to drop the tableware.

Arthur: I was told that I was a busy child. I’d often drop things and almost break them.

Arthur: That may have been why I am now able to cast magic quickly.

Mitile: Yes. It was easy since Riquet is really kind, friendly and similar in age.

Mitile: But there were some parts of him I found really strange. Even though he’s polite and seems very wise, he doesn’t know how to read or write.
