There was a challenge going around on Instagram called Dream Week, where the goal was to create seven illustrations over the course of a week using prompts from the prompt list.

Because I’m Extra, I decided to make a story out of it. I planned this comic (and developed the characters) in a day, so for as little prep as I had, I’m pretty pleased with it.

I’ve really been pushing myself lately in terms of backgrounds and full body poses, so this piece was pretty self indulgent in nature. 

The idea stemmed from the concept of neon hoops wrapping around a figure, and I decided to play around with the clothing she was wearing, since interesting clothing is very much a comfort zone thing for me.

As per usual, I’m shit at keeping platforms that aren’t Instagram updated, but I’m back with some character sheets I did for a cyberpunk comic I’m currently working on planning out. If it’s not clear, these two are girlfriends. Sexuality notes that weren’t mentioned; Tora identifies as demisexual and Ava identifies as lesbian.

I’ll try to put up more illustrations I’ve done very soon.

After drawing Bakugou from My Hero Academia in a “stop wasting oxygen” shirt a couple of weeks ago, I was inspired to draw a series of Haikyuu!! characters in graphic tees that fit their personalities. I’m kicking off the series with Kenma, since he’s one of my (many) favorite characters. I’m thinking Tsukishima will be next.

The 2019 Pantone Color of the Year is called Living Coral, so I thought I’d use both the color and name as inspiration for a new piece!

This took my entire life (read fifteen and a half hours) to draw, and I am incredibly happy with the way that it turned out. I love these characters so much and ultimately couldn’t choose who I wanted to draw most. Thus, you get all three.

Honestly, this entire drawing stemmed from coming across this t-shirt while exploring Pinterest. I immediately associated it with Bakugou, then decided to style it into A Look, featuring a choker and eyeliner.

Some work in progress photos from my most recent attempt at fanart. I recently caught up with this anime and I couldn’t decide who I wanted to draw most; as such, I decided to go with the least time consuming option and went for all three of them. I’m currently at about 12.5 hours logged on this piece, and there’s still a little ways to go. Luckily I’m having fun with it.

One of the most encouraging things about process videos, at least for me, is that we do get to see all of the mistakes artists make along the way. Very rarely do I (or any other artist I know) get everything perfect the first time around and there’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, we actually need the mistakes in order to learn. Sometimes it’s hard to get over that, but once we do I think there’s a lot of value in it.

However, since it’s pride month, I decided to draw up my bi fave, effectively putting a face to one of the characters I’ve been writing about for years.
