HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCE AND FIVE WORDS COMMONLY USE
WHAT IS HUMSS?
The Humanities and Social Sciences are the study of human behaviour and interaction in social, cultural, environmental, economic and political contexts. The Humanities and Social Sciences have a historical and contemporary focus, from personal to global contexts, and consider challenges for the future. The Humanities and Social Sciences subjects provide a broad understanding of the world in which we live, and how people can participate as active and informed citizens with high-level skills needed for the 21st century.

COMMUNICATION -  a process by which information is exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols, signs, or behavior.
EX.
During this time, Rader was bold in his communication with the authorities and the media, going so far as to call police to report the murders, sending the media letters
 INFORMATION -  the communication or reception of knowledge or intelligence. The attribute inherent in and communicated by one of two or more alternative sequences or arrangements of something (such as nucleotides in DNA or binary digits in a computer program) that produce specific effects .
EX.
The settlement is set to be announced next week and will be the largest ever fine imposed for violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule by collecting personal information from kids without parental consent.
BEHAVIOR - the way in which someone conducts oneself or behaves .  anything that an organism does involving action and response to stimulation.
.EX.
  In a move that mirrored something his character Tony Stark might do, Downey Jr. started his remarks by hilariously apologizing for some of his past behavior.
INTERACTION -  mutual or reciprocal action or influence. an occasion when two or more people or things communicate with or reactto each other.
EX.
she guessed from the friendly interaction that they were close to the other parents in the organization.
UNDERSTANDING -   the power to make experience intelligible by applying concepts and categories.  a mutual agreement not formally entered into but in some degree binding on each side.
EX.
He has a thorough understanding of the subject.
She has a basic understanding of the process.
