@mythos321 While it’s not clear yet whether new dangler characters have been made for these boxes, there is some very interesting wording in the descriptions of Tsunami, Glory, and Sunny:

“Will it be another Dragonet of Destiny? Or someone entirely new?” -Target (Tsunami)

“Whether it’s another Dragonet of Destiny or a new surprise” -Target (Glory)

“Whether it’s one of her Dragonet friends or an entirely new character” -Target (Sunny)

I’m not really sure why these are worded the way they are, as they could’ve easily said something along the lines of ‘Will it be another Dragonet of Destiny? Or a villainous foe?’ since Morrowseer, Scarlet, and Blister are the only ones in Wave 1 who fall outside of the DoD category.

There’s only one review so far for these boxes, and it’s from someone who got Glory’s box, they said they got Starflight, so we’ll have to wait and see what others get when more reviews are posted!

I’d love to see Peril with Clay, Riptide or Anemone with Tsunami, Deathbringer with Glory, and Thorn with Sunny! (And if the others ever get boxes, Fatespeaker with Starflight, Scarlet with Burn, Blister with Blaze, and Morrowseer with Battlewinner!)

I wish I had enough room for one of those! And I LOVE your dragon figures! It’s so unfair all the merch is only in the US, I really hope when the Netflix show comes out there worldwide merch will release because everyone deserves it! But these figures are such cute alternatives!! Are they any characters in particular? The sitting blue one reminds me of Glory and the rest remind me of Tsunami, Starflight, and Sunny :3! The big bookend dragon is like Darkstalker or Morrowseer to them haha! I especially love the golden one’s pose, they’re so feisty! Also how long/how many times was the German version of The Flames of Hope delayed for? I feel like I remember hearing other German readers complaining about that a few years ago. I don’t really collect the books but I am a big fan of the original novel trilogy so I have them on display in the back! WoF Item of the Week: Photo Op

Type of Item: Cardboard Standee

Info: These standees were sent to the five main 2025 Fawing Fest locations as well as to bookstores and libraries hosting smaller Fanwing Fests during the summer. Attendees were encouraged to take photos in the middle to commemorate their time at the event. The standee features artwork of Clay, Tsunami, Glory, and Winter, all taken from their respective book’s cover art.

WoF Item of the Week: Tribe Info Sheets

Type of Item: Fact Sheet, Cardstock Paper

Release Date: 2020

Currently Obtainable: No

Info: These info pages were given to Barnes and Noble employees at the 2020 Fanwing Fan Fests. (Note: These were small local fest’s of the same name, not the large ones that took place in 2025).

Once fans arrived at the bookstore, they could choose to be one of five tribes: a Mudwing, Seawing, Rainwing, Nightwing, or Sandwing; these sheets were then used to inform both employees and attendees about said tribes. Only one sheet per tribe were sent to participating locations and, while they were not intended to be given to attendees, many stores gave them away once the event ended.

The info on the sheets were limited to arc 1 knowledge and included an image of the tribe, an image of their kingdom, a general overview of the tribe and their alliances in the war, a physical description, a list of abilities, their continent and kingdom, and their queen.

While there was a sheet for all five tribes, only three have had images surface online, leaving the Rainwing and Seawing pages lost media for now.

WoF Items of the Week: Un poster Les Royaumes de Feu

Info: These posters were given out for free with the purchase of Wings of Fire novels in France. They were first documented online in 2022, however it is unknown if this was the first time they were handed out. The posters portray the full cover artwork of books 2 and 5, it is unknown if more posters exist depicting other covers or if the poster you received correlated with the book purchased.

WoF Items of the Week: Un gobelet Les Royaumes de Feu

Info: There is not much documentation online surrounding these cups. According to the promotional sign in the first image, they were given out at certain locations for free with the purchase of a Wings of Fire novel. It is unknown if these were distributed in any other ways. It is also unknown if you would receive a cup correlating with the book you purchased or if they were given out at random.

WoF Items of the Week: Porte clé Les Royaumes de Feu

Type of Item: 3D Plastic Keychain

Release Date: ? - 2021

Currently Obtainable: Unknown

Info: There are currently three of these keychains documented online: Clay, Tsunami and Sundew. All three are striking the pose’s seen on their respective book’s cover art. These keychains were produced by Gallimard Jeunesse, the publishing company for the French versions of the novels.

The Sundew keychain was released alongside the French version of the Poison Jungle in 2021 and is the most well documented of the bunch. “It was sent to some bookshops and given out to people buying a book of the series” according to user nautilpixelpom.

It is unclear when the Clay and Tsunami keychains were released or their method of distribution.

There is also a small misconception that there is a Sunny keychain seen in the image below. This is untrue, it is actually just Clay. His paint gives him a much more yellow look that closely resembles Sunny (not helped by the fact she’s right behind him lol). It is unknown if there is actually a Sunny keychain. I wanted to add this part because I initially believed it was Sunny as well and so older versions of this post referenced it as such.

As of writing, only one image has surfaced online, however there are multiple of these cups in existence as Dan Milano, the original poster, stated “just proof our crew got mugs from us for xmas.”

It is unknown if the production team for the Amazon Prime show have received something similar to commemorate their efforts.

WoF Item of the Week: Fanwing Fest Tour Shirt

Info: An exclusive shirt that could be purchased at the GitterBazaar at seemingly every Fanwing Fest except for the one hosted in Virginia—it is unknown why it was unavailable at that location. The shirt's design features the Fanwing Fest 2025 logo on the front as well as the fest locations and dates on the back. On May 28th, 2025, the shirt was made available online at The Red Balloon Bookstore site for two weeks before being removed. It was never made available on Amazon unlike other WoF shirts.

To note the explicit mention of the shirt not being available at the Virginia fest, I was in attendance and there were no shirts available to be purchased, not even the ones on Amazon. If you were at another fest and the shirt was also unavailable there please let me know so this post can be updated!

The special edition of i think book 12 came with trading cards of each tribe. I had them when I was younger but don't anymore unfortunately

I have these in my archives ready to post one day! Thank you so much for reminding me of them though! They’re such classic pieces of WoF merch, I love them! :D

I also have the Fanwing Fest Scavenger Hunt Cards as well in my backlogs (they look similar to the book 12 cards but there are subtle differences), however I only have images of the Rainwing, Icewing, Nightwing, Leafwing, and Silkwing cards, so if anyone reading this has photos of those I’d greatly appreciate them sent my way! ^^

These pieces also doubles as a board game called “Wings Over Pyrrhia.” The game itself is 2-7 players, and the goal is to collect all 7 kingdom tokens; read more about it below cut. As for the map, it features the queens, landmarks, and landscape from Darkstalker’s era.
