Something that Gold Star Lesbians™ really fucked up and made that much harder for questioning girls is this idea that lesbians cannot and do not find men attractive in anyway. I get questions all the time asking “can I still be a lesbian if I find men aesthetically pleasing?” “I feel like a fake lesbian because I find guys hot sometimes.” Finding someone hot is not the same thing as attraction, and even if it was, you are not obligated to act on an attraction that you don’t want to experience anymore. I totally find men attractive all the time but that doesn’t mean I want to date them or be with them, it just means that I can appreciate an attractive person. Finding men hot, sexy, attractive, whatever! doesn’t make someone a fake lesbian and we need to stop pretending like it does.
