There is another aspect of American womanhood that has been mightily well-served by the never-ending election of 2016: For the first time in America’s history, women politicians are acting the most powerful surrogates for each other. Sisterhood is on the march.

This, in the end, is probably how it had to be. A woman who operated purely as a feminist would have condemned herself to fighting a permanently outside fight. And a woman who never tested the limits of the role she agreed to play—tested it over and over—wouldn’t have built the thick skin and the savvy needed to keep going.

Same-day voter registration
If you did not register to vote, it might not be too late, depending on where you live. Some states have same-day voter registration, so you can register when you go to vote:
Colorado
Connecticut
District of Columbia
Idaho
Illinois
Iowa
Maine
Minnesota
Montana
New Hampshire
Wisconsin
Wyoming
If this is you, you’re lucky it’s not too late! Go vote, and show other states why it’s important to make the vote more accessible, not less.

Early voting reminder
If you still have your mail-in ballot, find your local board of elections and drop your ballot off NOW.
If you have your absentee ballot because you’re out of state for school, it’s probably too late, but send it in today just in case your state goes to a recount.
You have one last chance to vote early if you are registered in one of these states:
Alaska
Arizona (may vary by county)
Arkansas
California (varies by county, find yours)
Colorado
Illinois
Iowa
Minnesota
Montana
Nebraska
New Jersey
New Mexico
North Dakota (varies by county, find yours)
Ohio
South Carolina (in-person absentee only)
South Dakota
Vermont
Wyoming
Find your local elections office here.
If you can vote early, you should vote early. Polling places are often overloaded, usually as an intentional voter suppression tactic. There may be a line even now. If there is a line today, there will be a longer line on Election Day, so go TODAY and bring something to eat, drink, and read while you wait. Even if you can wait all day on Election Day, some of your neighbors can’t, so help them out by going now.
If you encounter intimidation or other issues, call an Our Vote hotline:
English: 866-Our-Vote
Spanish: 866-Ve-Y-Vota
Asian Languages: 866-API-Vote

If you need to register and you live in an early voting state, it’s especially important to go early, because you don’t want to encounter a problem that you can’t fix in time, or to hold up the line for other people.

My brothers are stubborn and wish not to vote for either candidates. What do suggest I tell them to convince them to vote for Hillary?
Outsource it to Bill Maher. Real Time is usually hit or miss, but it’s been savagely clear-eyed about this election, and Maher is such a contrarian himself I think he’s an effective messenger for recalcitrant voters.

[A] world in which Clinton’s agenda passed is one in which it would be the stated responsibility of government to ensure everyone can afford health care, child care, and college. It would radically expand the boundaries of the American welfare state, probably for good.
This is not incrementalism.

Quote
I have a lot to say about Mrs. Clinton that has not been said by others recently, and I think needs to be said. I have known her for 40 years. I`ve worked with her. I know her well professionally. I know her well personally. I know her to be a person of high moral character, a reliable person, and an honest person. However so much Mr. Trump may rant and rave to the contrary. So, I`m happy to say that, and people can make their own choices..... I`m here vouching for Mrs. Clinton, and I think it`s high time somebody did and I`m doing it based on my personal experience with her. I think she deserves to have people vouch for her, other than members of the Democratic national committee, so I`m here to do that.
Bill Weld, 2016 Libertarian Vice-Presidential nominee (x)

The Daily News again extends its wholehearted endorsement of Hillary Rodham Clinton.
We do so with faith that Clinton would be a transformative leader for the good, far beyond making history as the first female President.
And we do so with fact-based, fearful conviction that Donald Trump would lead a nation divided against itself, with catastrophic consequences at home and abroad.
Lost in a campaign distorted by Trump's ego-driven demagoguery is the indisputable truth that Clinton's instincts, skills and programs are an excellent match for the challenges of a uniquely frightening American moment.

Human beings change as they grow, but a person’s history speaks to who she is. There are millions who admire the tapestry of Hillary Clinton’s past: the first-ever student commencement speaker at Wellesley speaking boldly about making the impossible possible, the Yale law student interested in the rights of migrant farmworkers, the lawyer working with the Children’s Defense Fund, the first lady trying to make health care accessible for all Americans.
There are people who love how cleanly she slices through policy layers, how thoroughly she digests the small print. They remember that she won two terms to the United States Senate, where she was not only well-regarded but was known to get along with Republicans. They have confidence in her. There are people who rage at the media on her behalf, who see the coverage she too often receives as unfair. There are people who in a quiet, human way wish her well. There are people who, when Hillary Clinton becomes the first woman to be president of the United States, will weep from joy.

MJ: You've mentioned that this isn't just an anti-Trump message, but this is a pro-Hillary effort. Why is this pro-Clinton or not just about Trump?
JW: Because I think Hillary Clinton is vastly intelligent and good-hearted and extremely qualified. She's more in the center of things than I am, but she also knows how to work with the opposition, which is a necessary talent in politics right now.
"It's stunning how much they're playing from the handbook of the little mustache that isn't Chaplin. With Rudy Giuliani as Mussolini."
I think she's a goddamn stud for having put up with this shit all this time. Everything she's ever done has been investigated by a committee, and it's all smoke and mirrors. It's all deliberate attempts by the GOP to discredit her.
It's so offensive that we have a man that has been accused by more than 10 women of sexual misconduct, not to mention fraud and bribery and all the other things that he's being investigated for, and he gets a total pass. It has to do with people being tired of politicians, although unfortunately for Hillary she's a competent politician, which means she seldom says anything in less than three paragraphs. So people like the guy who just goes, "Nuh-uh, no puppet, no puppet, you're the puppet."
The double standard is beyond anything I've ever seen. Woman all live a double standard, but this is actually sort of a beautifully grotesque parody of it. There's a weird kind of joy that I have in seeing her trounce this essence of male bullshit.

There are a number of other motivating factors behind our decision. We believe that Clinton is not only the best candidate for the job, but the only candidate. As many endorsements have noted, she has the experience and temperament necessary to make a truly effective president. In fact, it’s hard to think of any presidential candidate with the depth of knowledge and public-service record she has.
Clinton has been spent [sic] her entire life as a social-justice activist, fighting for the rights of women, children, families, the disabled, farmers, veterans, and the LGBTQ community. She has taken on such crucial issues as climate change, racial injustice, and the epidemic of gun violence. She’s not “nasty” — she’s tough and unafraid to smash barriers, whether it was negotiating strict sanctions against Iran, or brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. She’s a global diplomat who has traveled extensively to forge ties with foreign leaders.
Likewise, in the industry we cover, she enjoys widespread support, having cultivated relationships with entertainment figures dating back to her role as first lady. At a time when the industry is enjoying tremendous growth across borders and cultures, she will understand and embrace the importance of international cooperation and the influence of soft power.
She has often talked about the strength of diversity in the American fabric, a topic that only recently has been given meaningful attention among studio chiefs, network heads, and industry organizations. We would expect her to continue this conversation from the bully pulpit of the presidency.
