I have enjoyed learning how to transfer photos to wood. Now I'm experimenting with a variety of wood species with different levels of texture. I'll post the outcome tomorrow. Now it's time to go to bed! #whitakerwoodwork #modpodge #photography #woodworking #diy #craftyhusband #craftydad (at Whitaker Woodworks & Design Center)

Finished my first corner cabinet as a belated Mother's Day gift. I learned the importance of owning or using quality measurement tools for precise alignment of doors. My only regret besides from using scrap MDF for the case is I didn't condition the wood before staining it. That's why there is an uneven coat of stain on it. #whitakerwoodwork #cabinetmaker #diy #mothersday (at North Carolina)

Still working on it, but I did learn you should apply the transfer medium evenly. My wife lost an earlobe in trying to get the residual medium off. Oh well, that's the ”vintage” look, right? #modpodge #diy #whitakerwoodwork #craftyhusband (at Whitaker Woodworks & Design Center)

Said goodbye to one of my first #diy projects. My homemade router table served me well but I’m in need of more precision. So say hello to the #kreg router table. I ready to give it a workout with some custom cabinets. #woodworking #whitakerwoodwork #router #routertable #customwoodwork (at Whitaker Woodworks & Design Center)

If you turn pens you’ll need a place to display them. Here’s my interpretation on some displays I’ve seen at wood turning shows. The pen holders can be taken out so other objects like knives can be shown off too. #penturning #turningwood #penmaking #woodworking #whitakerwoodwork (at Whitaker Woodworks & Design Center)

Next project before the next corn harvest is to make a lean-to shelter off of the corn crib. The wood was sawmilled from trees cut from the backyard.

How can you get your kids excited about woodworking? The answer - Make them a candy dispenser and let them eat as much candy as they want from it! Thank you Boy Scouts of America for the plans.

I learned how to make my own “barn wood” tonight. The bottom is the original stock and the top piece is the transformed stock. Fifteen minutes or less of work. Thanks @familyhandyman for the lesson.
