😭❤️
This whole time, I thought changing the world was something you did, an act you performed, something you fought for.
I don’t know if that’s true anymore.

These are really good tips and I’ll be sure to keep them in mind when I arrive in Japan! Thanks! 📱
Purchasing Cell Phones in Japan: The Good, the Bad, and the Frustrating
Purchasing cell phones in Japan: a topic with lots of conflicting advice if you’ve done as much research as I hope you have. I just made my purchase on Monday, and I’ve seen quite enough contracts to make me never want to walk into a phone shop again, but alas, I will have to in order to cancel some extra apps that were added on (but more on that later).

Thanks to the person who asked for these tips because this was incredibly helpful, and thank you to YOU as well for kindly helping and giving these tips out! 🙏🏽
Hey there! I really like your blog! I was wondering how you started studying chinese/how you study it and if you have any tips for a beginner?
Hey there!Chinese was my major at university, so how I started studying was having 18 hours of Chinese class a week :’) Yes, I did cry a lot during that first year. How I studied/tips: filling notebooks with characters. Just write them over and over and over and over until they stick. Muscle memory! Also, learn the radicals, they make memorizing a lot easier. For example 口 (mouth) will be found in characters like 吃 (eat), 喝 (drink), 唱 (sing) - makes sense, right? When you see the radical for water氵(variant of 水) you may not know what the character means, but it’s probably liquid or has something to do with water, like 海 (ocean), 河 (river), or 沖 (flush). More examples:When you see 木 (wood), it’s something that is (or used to be) made out of wood: 椅 (chair), 桌 (table), 梯 (stairs). When you see 心 or忄(heart), the character likely has something to do with feelings/emotions: 情 (feeling), 愛 (love), 恨 (hate). When you see 手 or 扌(hand), it could be something with a handle or something you do with your hand: 把 (handle/hold), 打 (hit), 拉 (pull).I could go on and on, but there is actually a youtube video that lists the most common radicals and I highly recommend learning all of those! It’s over here. There is also a simplified version over here. Aside from that, remember those tones. I focused more on the characters and less on the tones when I started, so it still happens that I find out I’ve pronounced a word wrong all this time because I never remembered the right tone to begin with. My only other advice would be to not overdo it on the characters, start with the most common ones and don’t learn any specialized vocab that you’re not gonna use yet anyway. Basics first!I hope this helped a bit. 加油!

Helpful Chinese Words When Watching IDOL PRODUCER ✧
*To get a better understanding on how tones (the little marks on the letters) work when speaking Mandarin, HERE is a guide from Idol Producer :) 偶像 | Ǒu Xiàng = Idol 练习生 | Liànxí Shēng = Trainee *The show is called “Ǒu Xiàng Liàn Xí Shēng”. lit. meaning “Idol Trainee”
练习 | Liànxí = To train, practice 全名制作人 | Quán Míng Zhì Zuò Rén = National Producers 等级 | Děngjí = Rank, grade *eg. A Děngjí, B Děngjí etc. 准备 | Zhǔnbèi = Prepare 努力 | Nǔlì = Work Hard 舞台 | Wǔ Tái = Stage 编舞 | Biān Wǔ = Choreography 舞蹈 | Wǔ Dǎo = Dance (noun) 跳舞 | Tiào Wǔ = To dance, dancing (verb) 唱歌 | Chàng Gē = Singing 说唱 | Shuō Chàng = Chinese word for ‘Rap’. lit. meaning “talk sing”
表演 | Biǎoyǎn = Performance *Can be added to end of actions to describe the type of performance. eg. “WǔDǎo Biǎoyǎn” = Dance Performance “ShuōChàng Biǎoyǎn” = Rap performance
老师 | Lǎoshī = Teacher 导师 | Dǎoshī = Mentor *Both can be added to end of words to describe one’s area of teaching. eg. Jieqiong and Chengxiao are both “WǔDǎo Lǎoshī” (Dance Teacher) Jackson and MC Jin are both “ShuōChàng Dǎoshī” (Rap Mentor)
歌曲 | Gēqǔ = Song 歌词 | Gēcí = Lyric 风格 | Fēnggé = Style *eg. WǔDǎo Fēnggé (Dance Style) 团队 | Tuánduì = Team C位 | C Wèi = C Position (Center) 主唱 | Zhǔ Chàng = Main Vocal 主舞 | Zhǔ Wǔ = Main Dancer 队长 | Duìzhǎng = Leader 队友 | Duìyǒu = Teammate
担当 | Dāndāng = In charge of, responsibility *Often used in member’s introduction when saying their roles. eg. Vocal Dāndāng, WǔDǎo (Dance) Dāndāng etc.
对 | Duì = Yes, correct 对不起 | Duìbùqǐ = Sorry 谢谢 | Xiè Xiè = Thank You 开始 | Kāishǐ = Start 帅 | Shuài = Handsome 酷 | Kù = Cool 可爱 | Kě ài = Cute 性感 | Xìng Gǎn = Sexy 粉丝 | Fěnsī = Fans 投票 | Tóu Piào = Voting 排名 | Pái Míng = Ranking 挑战 | Tiǎo Zhàn = Challenge 任务 | Rèn Wù = Mission, task 出道 | Chū Dào = Debut 加油 | Jiāyóu = Go! Come on! etc. *Equivalent of the Korean ‘Fighting’ or ‘Ganbatte’ in Japanese. lit. meaning ‘to add oil’ 幸苦了 | Xīnkǔle = Often said at the end of the day. lit. meaning ‘tired’ ‘you’ve worked hard’ 前辈 | Qiánbèi = Senior (Sunbae, Senpai etc.) 后辈 | Hòubèi = Junior (Hoobae, Kouhai etc.) 哥哥 | Gēgē = Older Brother 姐姐 | Jiějiě = Older Sister 弟弟 | Dìdì = Younger Brother 妹妹 | Mèimei = Younger Sister *Gēgē etc. can be added to the end of names, similar to the Korean ‘-Hyung’. A more mature way of calling someone is to shorten it to just ‘-Gē’ ‘-Jiě’ etc. *Adding 们 (men) at the end turns these into plural form, eg. “Gēgē men” (the older brothers) “Lǎoshī men” (the teachers) etc.

I love this!
I think we need to talk about the under appreciated Window Seat fandom
I mean really? With the book shelves?
It’s like an alcove of happiness.
You want a whole row of individual seats? Fine, here you go.
Or how about a whole window bed for those snugglers out there.
Curtains.. Guys this one has curtains.
Seriously? This is basically a glass cube of bliss.
You can even get them with corners! Not enough corners? Okay.
Ba-BAM!! Corners for cocooning.
There’s also the Roman-esque themed seat for the historians out there.
If you don’t want to snuggle up in blankets with hot cocoa in this then I don’t even know why you’re on this planet. I mean dat stonework.
This one’s an entire rectangle. Just imagine all the cuddling that could happen in there. It’s practically a fortress.
This one’s fucking curved okay? it’s just chillin, up of the ground, and curved for your lounging convenience.
don’t like rectangles or square? Okay. Have a fucking trapezoid seat.
