Why, that’s just gorgeous! Mr. Fell’s shop looks positively stunning. And the lights? 💛💛💛

Spent a few happy hours on the Lego Whickber Street project today. The chinese restaurant is done. All the lights are working as well. I used diy-parts from Briksmax - not cheap and a bit fiddly, but it was worth putting them in. Also: Thank you to the person who made a map of the street (I can't remember where I saw it), I tried to figure out what the shop next to the bookshop was, but the sign was never in focus in the show (or my focus was off, that is also a possibility).

To me beloved fandom;
A lot of you know me as PhoenixRose314, Tumblr's fandom mom and ineffable author of Don't Fall Away From Me and There Is A Light & It Never Goes Out. This fandom has been such a source of joy for me and has kept me going through some really difficult and dark times, but right now my world is absolutely falling apart.
Tumblr media
Through circumstances beyond my control (health reasons - cancer and anxiety and depression), I was let go from my job a few months ago and my children and I can no longer afford to rent our lovely home in our lovely village. This has been incredibly hard for me to accept but once my lease is up I will have run out of savings and my kids and I will no longer have a place to call our own.
Tumblr media
I am famously awful at asking for help, however this amazing fandom has convinced me to start this crowdfunder to try and raise enough money to try and buy a small park home or caravan for myself and the kids. It won't be much, but it will be ours, and nobody can take it away from us. I'm currently in the process of selling all my collectibles, furniture and worldly goods to try and raise some of the money myself, but anything you could donate to give my family some stability would be appreciated from the very bottom of my heart.
You can read more about my story and donate here:
I hate that it has come to this, I feel so much shame and guilt for being in this position, but I better than anyone know that circumstances can change on a dime, and I hope that all the good and kindness (and fanfiction!!) I've put out into the world might come back to me now.
Tumblr media
Please share if you can, donate if you can, and thank you for reading.

New hot special at over at ‘Give Me Coffee Or Give Me Death:’
The Lightning Special; 6 espresso shots in a large cup, plain.
Priced at 12$ for the amount of caffeine and a hopeful deterrent to anyone who isn’t fully invested as I’m not fully sure if this is even legal. Though, the man from across the street tried it and was positively glowing afterwards. Literally.
No known negative side effects (yet,) and a deal that you can’t find anywhere else, no exaggeration.

Ms. Nina, I was wondering if you had seen Mx. Crowley around anywhere? I haven’t seen them in quite a while, and I know sometimes they talk to you or get coffee in your shop. If not, no worries!
-Muriel 🤍
I personally haven’t seen her around since whatever happened with @all-tickety-boo. Just drove off and hasn’t been by since, seemed all heartbroken. You seem to know Mr. Fell more than the rest of us, and if you don’t know much, with @certainly-not-nice off to god-knows-where, well; your guess is as best as mine. With both of them gone, you seem clueless. I’m busy, but ask Maggie across the street, she knew Mr. Fell a bit more than the rest of us did, she might be able to give you some pointers. I’ve just never seen a book come out those doors in the years that I’ve been here.

Mr Brown, how are you feeling about the sudden disappearance of Mr Fell?
I’m more than a bit surprised, we all are. His family’s been in that shop for decades- Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Fell, Mr. Mr. Mr. Fell, Mr. Mr. Fell- I can’t imagine that Mr.Fell would just up and leave as such. I haven’t seen the one with sunglasses lingering around in there either, only the nice one in the strange costume.
I tried to come back and get the chairs that I brought over for the meeting, but they said that they were under strict orders to not sell anything. Wouldn’t even listen to the idea that they were by chairs in his shop. They still don’t seem to be selling any books either, but I’ve caught them reading a few times through the window.
A real shame, he just seemed to be picking up activity in the Shoopkeepers and Street Traders Association; even hosted a meeting, even though I strangely don’t recall much. Tensions must’ve been a bit high though, nobody has told me what as discussed. I’m certain that the itinerary is somewhere.

@fumblingbuffoon, I have to be honest. None of us really know exactly how to get in contact with Mr. Fell. I didn’t even know that he knows how to use anything online, much less to sell a book. If you’re in the area, trying to talk to Maggie or Nina would be your best bet, I’ve seen them talking with Mr.Fell and his partner(?) a few times in the past. I would say to talk to his partner that wanders around sometimes, but he doesn’t exactly seem like the friendliest folk. If you can’t drop by for a visit, you can always try sending an ask to @all-tickety-boo though I have no guarantee he knows how to respond…

We’ll be glad to see you around! Friends of Mrs. Sandwich are always welcome to the record shop, I’m doing well enough right now that I might or might not even give a small discount on some records. Just don’t go around telling others, we’ll be out of everything but the stack of ‘Everyday’ records in the back; those never disappear.
-Maggie
Notice: We are aware that there was an earlier incident that has affected business recently on Whickber Street.
We must assure you that sudden strikes of lighting are a highly uncommon event, and that the chances of being electrocuted or stuck in one of our many shops on the street is highly unlikely. The man circulating online (yes, the one dressed in sunglasses and all black) is completely FINE. He is actually a regular around Whickber street, and has been seen around since the incident. A shockingly nice lad, and is completely unaffected by the incident. Please continue to shop at Whickber without worry, we hope to see you soon!

This is Nina on behalf of the rest of the Whickber Street Shopkeepers and Street Traders Association; I usually don’t like to get too involved but I finally convinced them to all go online with the idea it may attract more business (which we need after people got weirded out by the couple over at the bookshop. Specifically the lightning one that should probably be dead after that.)
All members of the Association can answer: Myself, Maggie, Mr. Brown, Mrs. Sandwich, Justine, Mr. Arnold, Mrs. Cheng, and Mutt. It really depends on who’s around, or if you have any specific questions about our shops. Mr.Fell is technically a member of the association, but none of us are quite sure if he owns a computer, much less knows how to use one. We figured it’d cause much more trouble than it’s worth, and he seems fine despite the lack of customers that come through his shop (and I don’t think I’ve ever seen one actually leave with a book.)
We’re happy to answer any questions you may have, and hope to see you in SoHo soon!
