To be able to post things on ao3, you have to have the picture already hosted on the web, like on Imgur. Then you create a new work, and in the collection section, you can search for Sanguinala!! Don't forget to indicate for wich user it's a gift for ;)

I fulfilled my request a few days ago but I think something went wrong? I never saw the assignment appear in my assignment section and Ao3 says it's been 'defaulted on' when I manually go find the assignment through the collection. But the gift is there!

We are delighted to see all the wonderful request that everyone has made so far!! In the hope to help to help you along, and because this might be your first secret Santa Sanguinala exchange, I decided to provide a lil tutorial to help out!!! You have to make a minimum of 3 request, but we encourage you to make up to 10! The more request you have, the easier it will be for the person that got you!!

Fandom:

This is where you put the fandom! Please only select one.

Characters:

This is where you put the type of exchange gifts you want!! Fanart or fanfic- your choice!!

Relationships:

This is where the REAL fun begin! You can add up to 20 pairing from the nominated list! You will also find singular name, or duo written like "Such & Such", both denoting of a platonic relationship if that is what you prefer! To go more quickly through the terrifying drop down menu, type the first few letter of your fav characters, all the options with them will appear!!

Optional Letter:

Are you very wordy? Do you have complex feelings for every ships you suggested?? Was the suggestion box too small??? If that's the case, you can put here the link to a google doc with all your complex feelings, ideas, DNW, hopes and dreams.... Don't forget to enable the "visible by everyone with the link" mode!

Description:

The actual meat of the request! Feel free to be as detailed, or as simple as you want! It can go from "Idk I just wanna see them happy!" To a literal essay on how you prefer their dynamic. To help you put, here are a few pointers:

Say the ratting you are looking for! Are you ok or not with NSFW?

Kinks? Don't be shy! Share them with us, tell us what make your heart flutter!

DNW are a necessity! Always include things that you REALLY don't want to read!!

While au are fine, please be general in you request. "Primarch maid cafe" is fine, describing all the events you want to see in it is not.

OC are fine, but do not go demanding people to write your own oc!! What you can do instead is basically ask "I want to see two Sororitas fall in love!" Don't start describing character's eyes color!

Be varied!! It's totally ok to have wildly different ship in one ask and just have a line or two about each!

You can always go read other people requests, to give you ideas! Or ask the mods for help!!

All in all, I hope this little guide was useful to everyone! So go get those request in!! And like always...

What a wonderful start to the exchange! We already have over 180 tags/character nominated!!

To help you out, I decided to explain to you, the Why of nominations!

Nominations: what you will want, later.

Before even registering, it's important to nominate what you will want to either create and/or receive later on! When you will register and say what you can do, you will be able to pull from this list! And when you create your request, you will, again, be able to get it from the list! That way, we can avoid things like someone personal OC, or crossover that you have no idea about.

That's why it's important to nominate the characters you love

I don't want a ship, can I nominate character as friends/family or just solo characters?

Of course! The exchange is for everyone!! For character that you want interacting in a non-shippy way, you can write them with a & between characters! For example: "Lucius The Eternal & Saul Travitz" if you want the two beat friends going on adventures, or " Mortation & Konrad Curze" for fluffy brotherly moments! Similarly, if you want a solo character, just put their name!!

I already submited my things but I got an extra idea! Help!

In the grim darkness of the future....

The Holiday season is still a thing!!

Do you celebrate Sanguinala? Are you a fan of Slaaneshmass? Praying fervently for the Great Horned Rat Day? Do you want to share the holiday fervor with other fanatics/heretics? Do you like giving and receiving? Then this exchange was made for you!

This holiday event is a fun, secret santa, mystery gift exchange, where you will be asked to create one piece of fanwork based on the prompt of someone else, and where you will receive one fanwork based on your own prompt!

While the theme of the exchange is centered around the holidays, the fanwork themself do not have to follow it! We request that all fanwork be centered around Warhammer 40k and/or the Horus Heresy, but you can certainly have the theme of them be as Grim and Dark as you wish!

The nominations are here and open!! You can enter any character or ship that you wish to see fanwork off. Be creative!

Schedule:

Oct 1 to Oct 15: nomination!

Oct 16 to oct 31: sign up and prompt creations

Nov 1: matchmaking and assignment out!

Dec 18: Assignment due, pinch hit go out

Dec 24: final pinch hit, panic

Dec 25: grand reveal, the gifts are distributed!

Dec 31: Creator are revealed

Feb 1st: Archive close, no more gifts can be added.

What we expect of you:

To create one (1) piece of fanwork. We demand a minimum of 500 words, or one clean fanart on unlined paper, both with visible effort and respect for the asker request.

To have an Ao3 account. If you do not have one but want to sign up, please contact the mods.

To request things that you will like. Don't go "awww I would have liked XYZ better!"

To respect other people, and have fun!! Any kink shaming, morality policing or general asshole behavior will see you banned from participating.

Type of content we allow, for requests and gifts:

We allow any canon characters, from the Warhammer 40k franchise + the Horus Heresy + TTS. We do not allow character outside that fandom (for example, no MLP character in the grimdark future)

We allow requests with OC, IF you leave the creative liberty to the person making the gift. For example, "An OC sororitas killing orks with a folding chair" is acceptable, while "please write about my OC, who is named XYZ and has [insert 5 lines description]" is not.

We allow every type of content and request, shippy or not, as long as they are properly tagged.

You can have Do Not Want (like say, genderbend or character death) to your request. In fact, we encourage you too! The gifter will be expected to follow those requests.

How does a fanwork exchange work, exactly?! Help!!
