I can’t even explain how proud I am of this gorgeous woman right here. This isn’t about her being nude, it’s all about the fact that she had the courage to take off her clothes and do all this. She had two eating disorders and body image issues when she was just a young girl. I want to let you all know, things always get better.

Last night pictures of Demi Lovato posing naked for Vanity Fair were released on the internet for the entire world to see. Now, this may not see like that big of a deal to the normal person because what celebrity hasn't posed nude nowadays? and hasn't Demi Lovato had nude photos leaked before? Yes, she has but that's not what this is about.

Demi Lovato has been very open about her struggle with eating disorders, self harm, addiction and mental illness in the past and that's what is significant about this photo shoot. Demi didn't do this photo shoot to shock people or sell records she did this photo shoot to empower other women who might be struggling with the same things she has struggled with in the past and I couldn't be more proud of her.

Demi Lovato is the perfect example of how recovery is possible. You can go from of a place of self hatred and covering your body in layers of clothing to baring it all in front of the entire world. She is the definition of the word "brave". No clothing, no makeup and no retouching this is Demi Lovato all natural, stripped down and raw and I think its so beautiful.

“If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the past day, it’s that life is too short,” she said. “I’m about to launch an album that finally represents who I truly am. How do I embrace this new chapter in my life? How do I really walk the walk? What does it mean to be confident? It means letting go, being authentic, saying I don’t give a fuck and this is who I am. I want to show the side of me that’s real, that’s liberated, that’s free. What if we do a photo shoot where it’s totally raw? Super-sexy, but no makeup, no fancy lighting, no retouching, and no clothing. Let’s do it here, let’s do it now.”

 Demi Lovato recently said:

‘’I considered myself a feminist before it was cool. Now everyone’s claiming it’’

and we should definitely talk about this. 

People called her a ‘’white feminist’’ but Demi didn’t lie when she said that. Feminism is becoming a fancy word that people like to use just to look trendy but they don’t know what it means.  We should not be happy because everyone’s claiming it because, claiming it, and knowing what feminism is actually about, are two completely different things. 

Now this is what Demi was talking about:

but let’s take a look.

Everyone’s claiming it, but not everyone knows what it means and what it stands for. So before you attack her, Internet feminists, think about the situation and ask yourself, do 70% of these Internet activists actually care about the issue? And is Demi really a white feminist because she called out white feminists? Y’all are constantly talking about her tweets about makeup, but did she lie? Was she wrong because she said that girls don’t need makeup to be beautiful? Did she say ‘'Stop wearing makeup’’ ?? No, she simply said ‘’You don’t have to paint your face like a clown to be beautiful’’  Also, before talking about her ‘’Fuck your thigh gap’’ post, read this. 

Demi has her own Scholarship program where she pays for other people’s treatment, she’s openly tweeted about wars, religion problems and lgbt community, she’s always telling girls that every body type is beautiful and you want to discredit her just because you misunderstood her tweets/quotes?

I have 5,519 friends I have 5,519 friends but i cant think of a single person who i could sit down with and hold a conversation with for over an hour. I have 5,519 friends but ive never felt more alone than i have in this very moment because i have 5,519 friends but those are 5,519 faces that i have never seen. Those are 5,519 voices i have never heard 5,519 people that i have never experienced anything more than 140 characters with but i feel a connection with them i dont feel with the real human beings i come in contact with everyday. And its funny because we live in a world where 140 characters can mean more then an endless amount of breathless i love yous and the amount of likes my selfie receives is more important then the someone looking me in the eye and telling me how effortlessly beautiful i look today. And its funny because those 5,519 people i probably wont ever meet and we spend every waking moment together documenting our actions but we’re never really together. I have friends in countries ive never been and they speak languages i will never learn and i have 5,519 friends but i feel everything but social as i sit curled up in my room on social media. Social media is a funny thing because my best friends are usernames and song lyrics and profile pictures and i dont understand it I dont understand why human interaction is so hard to find and i dont understand when this all changed because it feels like just yesterday i was playing man hunt outside and all of a sudden i have every person in the whole world in the palm of my hand and its overwhelming and i have all these 5,519 friends so i shouldnt feel so alone But i am alone

Demi Lovato, the girl who recovered from an eating disorder only to be bullied for her healthy weight gain. Demi Lovato, the girl who created a program to help pay for people to get help if they cant afford it. Something that no one has ever done before. the girl who gets hated on for being a recovering addict The girl who uses her story to speak out and talk to other people who might be going through something similar to what she went through. The girl who went to Kenya with Free the Children for her 21st birthday instead of getting hammered like most people do. The girl who donated $1 million to Japan in 2011 and has donated several other charities The girl who has been honored by NAMI for her work in mental health The girl who is one of the biggest advocates for body positivity, equality and anti-bullying Now, lets talk about the fact that the most common replies to anything she tweets are degrading and awful. Yall could hate on anyone on the whole planet and you chose someone who’s main goal in life is to help people. Somewhere that doesnt add up
