First piece really focusing on realism and I love it, will definitely take what I learned from this piece and apply it to future art.

1. Don’t be scared of the texture of my brush. Allow it to not completely fill in certain areas of my art.

2. New shading technique! I’m very proud of the realistic shading on this one and I will do this technique from here on out.

I may make a print out of this piece as well!

Fallen on deaf ears.

This piece is inspired by a recent argument I had with my mother about her taking accountability for her abuse. Of course, she did not take accountability, and it triggered me to eventually snap and lash out. Unfortunately, I have not experienced this kind of episode in a very long time, so it was a relief to able to paint and include these big emotions.

Positively, I learn how to add texture to my canvas before and after I have finished. Edit: I played with the texture, and I thoroughly enjoy this texture more.

Notes: The ghostly figure in this painting is a wendigo representing bipolar depression and C-PTSD. Here, he is childishly draw in crayon because the trigger was the discussion of my childhood.

TW: Blood, mentioning of trauma.

This piece is a reconstruction of a drawing I did a very long time ago, only this time, I am hinting at the abuse I experienced behind closed doors.

Behind being called a “prodigy” and “artist” for the drawing on the left, I was going through many forms for emotional and physical abuse. I thought it was a cool idea to recreate the piece, but hint at my covered-up reality.
