I had something else planned for this but it wasn’t working out so it’s a screenshot redraw instead! I really like how Sandy came out specifically!

Thank you for everyone who participated! It’s always really fun to see what others do with the prompts! And it really helps me stay motivated to make it through the whole month!

Wukong and the brotherhood! For some reason I decided to be really really ambitious with these last two days and do multi character pieces. I’m not entirely happy with this but I think parts of it look really good!

Journey tober day 29! Monk!

Wukong getting converted to Buddhism and promising to become a monk. I have him use of his arms just for posing purposes because I wanted to. Also it’s funny because I drew something similar for Monkey May and had such a difficult time with the stone. Meanwhile in traditional I can just…make it look good so easily.

Screenshot redraw of the scene in Monkey King: Reborn where Wukong first comments on his lack of soul. “A soul, it’s not worth shit.” I love that movie, and its Wukong design is one of my favorites!

I love that “__ was here” or something similar spans every culture and all time. So I just had to draw Wukong drawing in Buddhas finger. It’s so funny.

This one is based on Black Myth Wukong Guanyin temple, also inspired but how much I loved finding the meditation spots because that’s genuinely the prettiest game I’ve ever played.

They’re blaming each other for their latest scheme failing. I don’t know which one started the slap fight but it’s not gonna end any time soon.

Journey tober day 23! Shadow/light

“What’s that, bud?” “What? Huh? Oh nothing! Just my shadow, nothing to see here!”

Decided to do this one based on my Guard Dog AU where Macaque decides MK deserves better than Wukong during the shadow play episode and tends to hide in MK’s shadow so he can help out and protect him. Wukong definitely isn’t jealous that Mac is someone else’s warrior now. It’s not shippy but Wukong definitely acts like he lost the kid in the divorce meanwhile MK just wants them to make up.

The scene in the 1996 JTTW where they’re walking around WCC and the Bull Demon King is ranting about his wife while Wukong just kinda nods in amusement is so funny to me. I decided I needed to draw it for this prompt.

Wukong causing some chaos at the Guanyin temple by fanning the flames. I actually really like this which is kinda surprising because it’s been a really low energy day for me and I actively had to try and build up the energy to do this.

I’m really gonna have to revisit some of these when I’m not under as much of a time constraint. Also I’m all caught up now! Which means I should be able to start finishing them off a little better with the line work again.
