The couple who reads together, am I right? 📚💑 I'm finally starting my e-ARC of #Smoke by #DanVyleta and it is easily one of the most complex novels I've ever encountered. It's set in a dystopian England where your every sinful thought or action is marked by smoke that pours from your body. The upperclass does not smoke at all, proof of their right to rule, but the poor are constantly layered in soot and grime. There's clearly something dark happening, and three young people are about to find out that everything they've been taught is full of lies. The writing is beautiful and the story is SO strange, but completely riveting. So glad I made time to start this...big thanks to the folks at @doubledaybooks for sending me this e-ARC.
