it refers to all weapon types! some people like using Book of Worlds on characters that get buffs from waiting, such as Alfred or Mauvier, and they definitely don’t use tomes.

i admit i had to do some research because i’ve only paired Veronica with Ivy in my playthroughs.

Hey @vindy-vindingmachine, I'm experimenting right now and I'm thinking about pairing my Swordmaster Alear with Emblem Veronica.

Sure, the Engage Weapons won't be useful (at SM Level 9, my Alear has 17 Strength and 10 Magic with the Veronica equip buff), but I initially thought about it since any unit summoned will have Dual Strike from Emblem Lucina since SM is a backup unit class.

But my question concerns Book of Worlds. It only says "Reverts to base stage of unit triggers the effect." Does that only apply to tomes, because they're books, or does it work for all weapon types?

I feel like there's something important about Alcryst that most people miss

While there are moments when Alcryst is out of his comfort zone, every time that's happened, it's Alcryst's choice

His supports with Boucheron and Hortensia revolve around Alcryst's low self-esteem and are initiated by Alcryst himself. He reaches out to them first for support. Even his support with Pandreo, which has him way out of his comfort zone, clearly states that he chose to be there. No one forced him

For all the memes about Alcryst being a sad wet cat, he still has full agency as a person. No one forces him to improve himself based on their standards. He is never forcibly dragged out to be fixed. Every time Alcryst is working to better himself, it is an active decision he has made for himself

In general, Alcryst's problems are treated as something that he is allowed to address his own way and everyone else supports him based on his decisions without imposing their own on him against his will

thanks for the tag! i have a story relating to my username:

so, on all platforms i have an account on, i’m Vindy. that was just a little name i came up with because it sounded nice, but it’s also not my first online name.

i used to cosplay on Roblox and stuff (although i might buy a cosplay i made lol) so i would just call myself online the character i was cosplaying. for example, i had a frisk cosplay during my undertale phase, so i was frisk.

eventually, i got into splatoon and started playing that obsessively. i changed my switch username to “GreenSpore” because i was wiped out by a random person called “WhiteHawk” (it was the time when i wanted to be just like the pros yknow?). i did change my name to something else that i don’t really remember in that era, but i remember going back to GreenSpore because i wasn’t recognized by the people in my friend list.

then, i started drawing and making ocs. i had just made a big move across the country very suddenly, and drawing helped me cope. (fun fact: my oc Greenie was based off my nintendo username GreenSpore) Fanto had already existed, and i liked her, so i decided to just call myself Fanto. my Pokémon Scarlet and ACNH save files are still named Fanto because i didn’t reset them. i even used to sign my drawings with Fanto. crazy times.

then i discovered what a persona was, so i drew my sona for the first time.

eventually, i became the Vindy some of you know now! it took a while, but here i am! (also vindingmachine is a pun on vending machine because Fanto likes soda and i used to be Fanto lmao)

For my name it was a nickname I was giving back in middleschool! One of our teacher had a system where we worked with 'wifi' eachtime we talked in class we lost a bar of the "wifi" (was a weird joke and we never held count on that) All the kids usually joked if they needed 'wifi' , they would borrow mine if they wanted to talk more. (I was incredibly shy in middle school, I only talked to like 3 people at school;^;)

They called me Ms. Wifi because of that. I just thought it would be funny if I put 'miss' instead of 'ms' because of my terrible actual wifi connection I have at home lol.

i’ve been doing an engage challenge run for a while now (i’m doing some grinding before chapter 21)

the premise is that i am not allowed to use a unit’s intented class or repeat any classes, it’s also a bit of an experimental thing so i can see growths in action. i have it set to normal mode only though, because i didn’t think i would get very far in hard/maddening.

i’m gonna list some of my favorite units below, and the best is last!

Sniper Framme + Emblem Lyn: one thing i noticed when looking at unit growths is that Framme’s speed growth was very high. i wanted to make her a covert, but i wanted to make Lapis a Thief because Framme can use Radiant Bows as a Sniper to make use of her magic growth. overall, she’s great at taking care of flying units of course, she actually gets kills and makes great use of Astra Storm. this performed better than i expected.

Mage Knight Hortensia + Emblem Micaiah: i mainly wanted to boost Hortensia’s killing potential. it’s definitely an investment because she couldn’t use her personal skill without Micaiah, but she performs pretty well! she’s able to run up to someone and heal them with Mend from 2 spaces away while dishing out good damage during the enemy phase. although don’t put her near big groups of enemies because of her low hp stat (she’s gonna get chain attacked to death)

Wyvern Knight Céline + Emblem Chrom: did you know that Céline’s strength growth is better than her magic? this was basically me capitalizing on that. wyvern knight also grants a bit more bulk alongside Céline’s already decent bulk, mainly in defense. Chrom also gives her access to Brute Force so I just handed her a Killing Edge and told her to go crit or something. also she can still use Chrom’s engage weapons while benefiting from the stat boosts he grants.

Martial Master Yunaka + Emblem Eirika: i kinda copied the MM Chloé build but I feel like Yunaka does a really great job at it. She has enough speed to quad most of the time, enough magic and strength to do good damage, and the added bonus of more resistance alongside her own really great personal growth. well-rounded and reliable.

Sage Chloé + Emblem Camilla: no it’s not for thirst. honestly, this surprised me the most of all my units. she has the massive speed growth alongside really great resistance and magic, so she can dodgetank while hitting back really hard. Camilla gives her the flying movement so she can ignore terrain and get more kills, also the fire vein is one of the best ways to crowd control. surprising, one of the only units to get mvp that isn’t my best.

Griffin Knight Fogado + Emblem Corrin: remember how everyone said Cupido hits like wet paper with anything else that isn’t the Radiant Bow? i decided to try his performance with Levin Swords. spoiler alert: it’s good. he always doubles, dodging and killing pretty much everything that attacks him (unless it’s like… another griffin knight). he also now has some staff utility, i mainly use physics or freezes with him, and he can also do healing vein for aoe heal. my second best unit currently, he has also gotten mvp sometimes.

Wolf Knight Alcryst + Emblem Edelgard: remember that wolf Alcryst met in the Alear support? well it’s come to join him on his journey from chapter 8 to where i am now and the wolf has given him the power to have an enemy phase. seriously though, i don’t know what i gave him to be this good. he dodgetanks, attacks and kills, dodgetanks more, attacks and kills more, you get the idea (it might be because he’s overleveled because he’s the only unit i’ve level 20 second sealed OR i made good use of his growths). i gave him axes alongside knives so he can do a bit more damage if needed. then Edelgard just gives him more strength. he’s gotten mvp for like… 90% of the chapters excluding the ones he wasn’t there for yet. in conclusion, ALCRYST STOP KILLING EVERYTHING I NEED TO GET MY OTHER UNITS LEVELED UP-
