A couple photos from my Scanlan shoot yesterday. Had a ton of fun goofing off with a vuvuzela and tree climbing. Also we realized that with correct placement of the hood you get this lovely phrase ;)

Ottawa Geek Market

We now have a deadline. Ottawa Geek Market is in October 4/5th. We're gonna do two different outfits for each day. Of these four cosplays, 1.8 are done (the missing .2 being the still-to-be-styled wig which should come in this week) Two weeks to do two cosplays. Bring it.

problems with making a neptune cosplay: what the fuck is all that shit

Some progress made this week. This Neptune jacket will be the death of me. Spent all day trying to get the back panels and the swoopdy woop, these-better-not-be-pockets-Neptune-designers-so-help-me-god wrap around bits to not be stupid. I managed to partially succeed. The front and collar also need to be done still so yeah, that part looks extra bad. The one half-finished Sun bracer can't actually be properly completed until we get the gloves, so that one's just gonna sit here until we get them. The tail frame was actually the first thing that was done. I just made the mistake of growing attached to the Sacrificial Puppy that will become the actual tail (I named it. That was my downfall) so I've been finding excuses not to finish it. Week by week these things will get done.

So, while working on Pyrrha, my sister was like "You know what would be cool" and then I had jean capris in my drawer and now we're doing genderbent Sun Wukong and Neptune Vasilius. Also from RWBY. (I wasn't kidding about the "needing a separate closet for RWBY cosplays"). So now I have a female Sun! I still need to do the arm armour (which I have a pattern for) and the tail (for which I have the sacrificial puppy for materials. His name is Moon 3). Gotta do them and get the wig and it's complete! Neptune still needs the jacket, goggles, wig/contacts, and the leg padding. But there's a base. I still need to work out how to do the jacket, but shhhhh.

Paaaaaterniiiiing! We're both still pretty new to this, so of course we're doing a stupid project. The outfit for Pyrrha Nikos from the series RWBY is 50% armour, so we're working out some patterns. And by "we," I mean my sister. Instead of doing the cling wrap/duct tape patterning we're just taped newspaper around her legs to get a type of cast. And then it's just a giant try/fail cycle until it's right.

Ayy a Tumblr page

We don't have much yet, but there will be things to come. It's a lot of pattern drafting at the moment. We're currently working on a Pyrrha and Jaune cosplay from the series RWBY. It's one of our favourite shows right now, and there will probably come a time where we'll need to have a separate space for just our RWBY cosplays. It will be an adventure.
