Kalapi grinned, happily taking her hand and giving it a firm shake in return, beaming. "Marcella. Ah will mind! Tis gey nice tae mak yer acquaintance, 'n' a'm happy tae be o' hulp in th' future!"
"Ah, gosh, I didn't introduce myself, did I! I'm Marcella." She offers a hand to shake. "Nice to have a friend around here."

Amelie was about to hurry out of the Institute's front door when they nearly bumped into someone. How many times did that have to happen until it learns??
"Ah!¡ apologies!¡ I might have gotten too caught up in my own head."
Fae says. Its voice is light and sweet, with a distinctly posh accent.
Walking into Kalapi was like near hitting a wall, the small individual quickly waving apologetically.
"Och! Na! A'm juist haunless. Ye a'richt thare? Ah ken a'm kind o' sturdy fur mah size," they replied earnestly to it, giving Amelie a grin.

Kalapi beamed. It was rarely smiles around the office, anyways. The only time they did see any sort of smile anymore was when they were with Grandpa Simon.
"Ye seem lik' a crakin' gal. Dinnae think ah caught yer name, bit, a'm happy tae mak' mukkers," they offered, before pausing. "Er... Friends."
"Thank you," she says, smiling earnestly. Kalapi isn't sure they've ever seen Ren smile, much less multiple times in one interaction. "I'm sure I'll figure it out."

"Nae in ony important sense. Ah juist run errands. Mah real profession is pilot. Bit thare hasm't bin a need tae fly a'body anywhere, juist yit. Pity, tae. Ah lassy th' air," they explained, reaching the doors of the Institute. Carefully, they unlocked the door, giving a grin as they let the stranger in. Was it okay to see them as a stranger? If they were family like she had said, then Ren probably trusted her... Right? Though they hadn't seen one another in a few weeks.
"Ah wis gonnae see if anythin' wantit cleaning. Juist holler if ye dae need me, okay? Ah love helpin'."
"You work there?" It comes out curious, but inside, she's rewriting her whole plan. Of course Ren would work there. And of course she couldn't just get a normal set of directions from a normal person who didn't have anything to do with the bullshit she's found herself entrenched in. Just her luck, really.

"Ah sure dae! ah run coffee, mostly, bit ah an' a' git affice supplies, pens, paper. That sort. Lea th' paranormal stuff tae they wha ur mair th' experts. Nae tae say ah haven't encountered anythin' spooky, masell," they hummed happily, gladly leading the way.
"Sort o' late tae be getting intae th' Institute, bit ah kin let ye in? Ah dinnae think Elias wull mynd. Atween ye 'n' me, dinnae pure trust him."
It's probably easier to lie and pretend she's a stranger to the city looking for a motel. Although, now that she thinks of it, there is a cot in the Archives she could probably snag... It isn't as though Jon knows her in this reality, of course, but her key should still work. It'd be easy enough to set up shop in the back shelves.
Christ, who has she become? Sleeping in Archives and talking to her dead sibling's coworkers? She really needs to get her shit together. And that starts with getting home.
"Actually, I'm here for an academic thing," she says. "Do you happen to know where the Magnus Institute is?"

"Och! A'm Kalapi. Pleasure's mines. Sorry, again. Didnae mean tae stick mah hooter in yer business," they replied, giving them a softened smile. That seemed to be a sore subject. Best to avoid it for now.
"Sae, foremaist time in London? Touring, A'm guessing?" they asked softly.
The girl's face shutters, as though someone's turned off a light switch. "I'm their sister," she says curtly, politely. "What's your name?"

"Anno a few places, sure," Kalapi replied, giving her a friendly nod.
"Ah dinnae wantae seem mooch, bit ye remind me o' someone. Ren, yin o' mah co-workers. Urr ye related? mibbie fowk?" they asked as they walked, trying to keep things casual between them. Maybe a bit too casual, as the Scottish accent could be a bit thick.
She smiles gratefully. Something in the dimples of her cheeks reminds them oddly of Ren.
"I don't think you can help me with this," she says, sweet but cryptic. "But if you wouldn't mind looking up motels near here I'd be so grateful! I lost my phone and I'm not sure where I am."

Another long, quiet but confusing day of running back and forth from the Archives, umbrella overhead to keep any stray rain from hitting them. Kalapi tilted their head, noticing the stranger, giving a shrug as they approached with a soft smile. "Hey, you a bit lost?" they asked politely. "I could help you, if you'd like. At least, find the way to where you're headed."
A young girl is wandering the streets of London, looking for a way home. She won't find one. But she will find someone interesting.

"Noting that down for future reference. I am happy to get anything else we need. Also, any advice? I got some, but... Some of it seemed odd. Like, a corkscrew was suggested."
"Hey! Eilir, right? I'm Kalapi! Pleasure to meet you. New intern at the Archives. Was wondering if I could get you any office supplies or a coffee this morning?"
-@vastblueskies
Oh! Yes, um, thank you! Welcome to the Archives! I’m not much of a coffee drinker, however I do like peppermint hot chocolate.

"You can see some beautiful things out there, in the wilds. Helps clear my head, seeing just... the expanse of nature, you know?" "Sorry if I'm carrying on. Not many people are into hiking and extreme sports, here."

"Don't think I can keep a ferret. Got a Corgi, but I don't think Jon would let my little guy wander the Archives." A soft shrug.
"But, what kind of worms need corkscrews?..."
"So. Took a gander at that list you sent me. Do I really need all of that? Seems to be a bit... much? Like, extra office supplies, maybe some mace, sure. But, a corckscrew?"
-@vastblueskies
I felt that one was self explanatory. Worms are a very real concern.
The ferret is either for emotional support, or to create a diversion if necessary. Depends on your ethics.
