Dick getting hit with a spell that seemingly did nothing to him, he gets checked over by all the magic users and then by Bruce at the batcave.

It’s not until Dick wakes up the next morning and sees his hallucination of Jaybin sitting on his bed next to him that he figures out what that spell did real fast.

Now Dick has to go around with a very clingy Robin who is so excited to finally touch him without falling through his body. Dick had no idea how he was gonna tell anyone about this when the blúdhaven news decided to do that for him.

So now he has a bunch of people texting and calling about how the second Robin came back looking like he did all those years ago and a very pissed off Jason trying to break in to “see” this imposter who dared to steal his face.

(side note: all of gotham is celebrating the return of their boy)

Dick being afraid of loving Jason because he’s afraid of that love being used against him thanks to Bruce.

He wants to so so bad, wants to curl up next to Jason on couch and read with him, wants to wake up next to him every morning but….what if Jason gets angry one day and uses his love against him? Or worse, take it away?

Jason is afraid to love Dick as well, he knows what a shitty person he is even if he’s gotten better, Jason’s afraid that Dick leave him once he becomes too much for him, just like Bruce did.

It’s a never ending cycle of them both wanting to love each other but too afraid of the unknown.

Unfortunately a girl reveals his new form on a live she’s doing, Dick suddenly finds his apartment invaded by heroes daily telling him they don’t care if he’s human or not, they still love him just the way he is.

Everyone: we love and support you, no matter what you are.

Call me delulu for this one, but the parallel occurred to me whilst studying for an upcoming test and now it’s all I can think about so of course I had to post it.

The two times Dick went berserk over what had been done to Jason and I’m all here for it.

The panel on the left is when Joker kidnapped Tim and made the mistake of mentioning Jason’s name. That famous moment that Dick *killed* Joker.

The panel on the right is Gotham War when Dick finds out Bruce kidnapped Jason and psychologically manipulated him.

Funny thing is, both times Tim stopped him, and the one he was a little late for. Makes me wonder how far Dick would have gone if Tim hadn’t been there to stop him beating Bruce.

[Im gonna put a little headcanon in the following, so beware.]

The parallel kinda occurred to me because I was imagining a scenario actually. Post Gotham war where Dick’s taking Jason away from Gotham and all it’s crazyness. So they’re in the car and Dick’s driving, looking out at the roadside and the sun’s beating down on lush green grass and he’s reminiscing about a forgotten memory buried deep in the treasure trove of his most cherished memories of a time long bygone. A memory of himself and Jason picnicking out near the manor grounds one day with Alfred and Bruce. And they were playing some game of chase or another that ended up in a bit of rough housing and lighthearted bickering and hearty laughter and—It turned out to be such a good day. A rare memory.

And what if they stopped on the way to picnic on the roadside, for old time’s sake? Because they’ve got a blanket in the back and they’ve already packed food for the road and basically they’ve got everything they’d need, and wouldn’t it be such a shame if they let that opportunity to go to waste?

So here they were now, stomachs full and lying on their backs, staring at a partly cloudy sky, playing a childish game of pointing out the shapes of passing clouds to each other. It’s a little stupid, and because it’s stupid they start arguing over pointless stupid details. A harmless argument that—ironically enough—develops into a round of rough housing, again. And maybe for just a moment they’d both allowed themselves to forget what they’re running away from. But a frown flashes over Jason’s expression for the barest of seconds and Dick just—stops.

They’ve ended up with Jason on his back and Dick over and above him, and Dick can’t help but caress his hair, touch the side of his face, checking his expression and body responses to make sure that Jason’s alright.

And Jason’s fine—Dick stop fussing, it was just a moment!

So Dick’s hand just drops and he’s moving away, not looking at Jason, not able to meet his eyes.

He’s holding himself in that way he does when his thoughts are chipping away at his soul, a sight that’s become recognizable to Jason over the years. “What happened?”

Nothing but the usual, he wants to say. Once again something terrible happened to you and I wasn’t there to stop it. To protect you. But I made sure to take out the simmering rage running through my vains out on the man responsible with my fists. Because that’s what I can do. Twice you needed me, and twice I wasn’t there. But I made sure they paid for it, right? I made sure of it.

Jason seems like the type of guy to want to bury himself in the body of whoever he’s obsessed with, wants to tear their rib cage open and become them ya know?

Dick getting like, concussed and he doesn’t know where he’s at let alone what day it is.

He’s so confused and asking for his Robin, Damian is right beside him but Dick doesn’t look for him, he’s looking for big greenish blue eyes and heart shaped bangs, looking for the beauty marks and the little bunny teeth.

Jason is over in the corner, watching Dick ask for him, ask for his younger self and Jason doesn’t know what to do because he could have sworn Dick hated him back then, so why was he calling out for him? Why was Dick calling out for a boy he supposedly hated?

(Jason’s memories are jumbled, he can’t remember if Dick actually hated him or not. He most definitely didn’t remember Dick was the one who gave him Robin, not Bruce)

Red Hood has an account dedicated to Nightwing photos, helmet cameras and the moon make for perfect pictures every time, Hood’s account is the only one with any good pictures of Nightwing because that man will make the ugliest face imaginable to literally anyone else.

The reason? Jason actually asked if he could take the pictures and post them.

Also, the nighthood fans freak out and point to this account as poof of their ship, Gotham is too afraid of the fans to correct them.

Stop playing dumb

Okay, so you guys know fanon likes to dumb down Dick a lot, he’s the “happy-go-lucky” guy that can’t fight his way through a paper bag.

So the usual fanon world but Dick is pretending and his little hallucination of Jaybin that came to life is not happy that his Dickie is pretending to be stupid and incompetent. They just so happen to get into a situation where the bat co. is trapped without their belts and gadgets, a bomb ticking away in front of him.

Dick is thinking about going down the same route he always does, try to disable the bomb and get it at the last second, Jaybin decides to say ”frick it” and hangs over Dick’s shoulder. He says he knows Dick can disable that bomb easily, that he can stop pretending to be slow or bad at fighting.

Jaybin would be so sad you see? So disappointed he can’t watch his hero save the day like he did in the past and everyone is watching, staring at this- this shadow creature version of Jason, they’re even more surprised when Dick sighs and replies with something sassy before disabling the bomb in a matter of seconds.

Dumb dumb act no where in sight, Dick gets to work taking the thugs down and freeing his family and then standing off to the side talking with Jaybin while his family tries figuring out what the fuck just happened and the police take very confused thugs away.
