Beauty pageants had never been Annabel’s cup of tea. She had been in the spotlight before and it wasn’t something she liked to see come of little kids. Even when it came to adults, beauty competitions rubbed her the wrong way, even though everyone else around her seemed to be ogling the guys. She tried to keep her distaste to herself and away from being visible on her face. When the person next to her spoke, Annabel put a smile on her face. “I find the crowd’s reactions much more interesting, to be honest.”

 Taking stock of what the female next to her said Veronica nodded, “That is always enjoyable, people watching is the best.” Even then, with all her love for people watching, the pageant drew her in for some reason. Maybe because it was mind numbing, and involved no effort from her part. “Even if you do, the spectacle is wonderful, worth watching if only for the ridiculousness of it all.” It was certainly amusing her enough, an occasional giggle leaving Veronica's lips when someone made a specially ridiculous figure.

“I can’t complain,” Ross said with a slight smile. He was just beginning to feel the buzz set in – he’d been drinking for a week straight. Any business that he conducted was strictly over email or through his assistant. This was Jake’s birthday week and all his SnapChat filters reflected that much. A solid week of drinking and shenanigans. It was a good time, and this party was something that had been unexpected but great nonetheless. Once the week of drinking was over, Ross was going to get another tattoo. “I’ve been mostly out of office,” Ross said with a wink and then took another drink, eyes peeled for Jake while he spoke. 

“Are you entering the pageant?” Veronica was joking, Ross didn’t seem like the kind of person to do something like a pageant – even if she didn’t know him that well, they were only occasional business partners–Veronica could thought he wouldn’t join. A small hum left her at his words, it was surprising, he always seemed to be working, “How so? Searching for new talents? Anyone I need to look out for?" Even if her tone was teasing, Veronica was still looking for gossip, “Or is it personal?” That was what she was curious about.

AREA 2. Main Stage

The whole party seemed pointless to her, and fishy, what it the whole not knowing where it was, it made her uncomfortable. But once the whole nasty business with the bus and the blindfolds was over, Veronica had started enjoying herself, watching the crowd, drinking her mocktail, (the drinking was getting slightly out o hand and she needed to reign it in). And most of all, paying very close attention to the Mr. Green contest, after all, everyday was a good day to look at the spectacle that was currently happening on stage. Turning to the person next to her she smiled, “Enjoying the show?”
