Today marks 10 years since the release of the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. That means it's a good time to revisit my last exploration of the iconic franchise.
To mark the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy X-2 in 2023, I did a one-hour deep dive into the entirety of Final Fantasy X, Eternal Calm, X-2, Last Mission, X-2.5 and X-Will to answer one question: Why does no one seem to like FFX-2?
I look for the answer to this question and so much more in Final Fantasy X-2: The RETROspective!

Today marks the release of Star Wars: Dark Forces - Remaster. It might be just me but I'm quite content to continue playing my classic version of Dark Forces. However, to help you continue playing it, I found some source ports and community updates to make Dark Forces playable in 2024....

With Le Mans Ultimate coming out today, now is a good time to see what I did while waiting for it to come out. The last time the Le Mans 24 Hours had its own dedicated game, we got some very different versions across consoles and console generations.
So to celebrate the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, I looked at the PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 versions of what we North Americans called Test Drive Le Mans but the rest of the world called Le Mans 24 Hours on this episode of RETRO Versus!

Recently, I've taken up a task of trying to find the quintessential games of the 1990s. I'm looking for games that described the culture of the 90s or had massive influence on gaming or pop culture. While Duke Nukem's jump from platformer to shooter is definitely influenced by Doom and its clones, it's attitude was all 1990s counter-culture.
So for my first time, I play Duke Nukem 3D...

If you haven't subscribed to the channel, you've been missing out on me completing another Resident Evil game. This time out, I've been playing the oft-forgotten Code: Veronica.

A little late with posting the annual Christmas special to Tumblr but I went back to looking at the weirdest, wackiest and worst of gaming on Steam by looking at the user reviews.
What was the game voted as the worst new release on Steam in 2023 and was at one point the worst game in the whole platform? That would be Overwatch 2.
I looked into why the reception was so dire and examined if it should be named the worst game on Steam...

To mark the College Football Playoff Championship game, I took a look at a modded version of the most recent EA Sports NCAA Football game. It started life as NCAA Football 14 but has been continuously updated into College Football Revamped!

It wouldn’t be my channel if I didn’t play a little Star Wars and what better time is there to play a Star Wars game than... well, all the time. So as a fan of The Force Unleashed, I thought the 10th anniversary was a good time to play TFU2. AMD’s graphics drivers disagreed but there’s not much you can do about that.

What else did I do to mark four years on YouTube? I went back to Doom for the first time since Doom 2. Continuing my journey through the idTech 1 games, I played Doom 64 on the new PC release.
My full LP included every level, including the secret levels, the Lost Levels pack and the Fun Levels. Between Doom and Diablo, I’m okay at defeating the forces of Hell.

Sometimes, you gotta go back to where you started. That why I marked four years of making videos by going back to one of the original franchises I played on the channel and played FlatOut 2.

Wasn’t the last Diablo 2 video that I posted here my start of Nightmare difficulty? Now, I’m on to Hell difficulty and it’s living up to its name. It’s probably not helped by switching from Poisonmancer to Bonemancer.

What’s new on Wide-Open Wednesday? We’re heading back to Formula 1 with Codemasters’ first F1 game. You may not have heard of this one because it was only on the PSP and Wii. From a transitional year for F1 and its video games, it’s F1 2009.

I’ve played through a good portion of both the Doom and Half-Life franchises so it’s time to start another classic franchise. So let’s get started with Halo!
