Skellies Bone Structure

So please be kind as I am not a biologist or scientist by any means. Because of this terms may not be 100% accurate.

So! Skelly bones are quite a bit thicker and have a different composition to them than a humans.

Similar to the Na'vi from Avatar, they have naturally occuring carbon fibre internally between a narrower marrow cavity and the periosteum (or the outside of the bone) which reinforces their skeletons. This carbon fiber layer is thicker as is the outer periosteum making their bones bulkier in nature.

The outermost periosteum is softer than a humans (having the consistency slightly softer but stiffer than cartilge). When this surface is cut it can leak liquid marrow from a simpler vein system than a humans. This layer can also be tattooed with the use of thicker, stronger needles.

Skellies skulls differentiate in shape and size similar to a human face and have a movable mandable capable of opening, closing and frowning. The bone above the eye sockets is more malleable though just as stiff, making skellies capable of making facial expressions.

The ribcage has wider ribs so to create less space between them with a wider, longer sternum. This is all as a means of better protecting their souls. Unlike humans, skellies ribs are directly connected to the sternum. Because of this, there are no "false" ribs, but there are still floating ones that have rounder tips and are longer.

As for their vertebral column, each disc is thicker and larger in size with magic cushoning each disk in a similar manner to a human spine. The sacrum and cocyx also tend to be longer.
