But if the show hasn't told us what the fuck it is Blitz sees in the man he spent all of Season 1 being repulsed by, why should we ship them all of a sudden?
I hate to be rude, but are you blind?
S1 E5: Blitz fumbles and stumbles over his words a lot trying to explain to Striker that "It's a transactional fucking, you see.", and there's also the fact that Moxxie and Millie share a knowing look in this scene, giving us our first hint that their relationship is more than just 'transactional' fucking.
S1 E7: The biggest hint that's it's more than just 'transactional' fucking to Blitz, Blitz secretly took a picture of himself with a sleeping Stolas, showing us even more that Blitz cares for Stolas. Plus, just look at Blitz's face in that picture.
And there's also the fact that in the memory sequence in ghostfuckers, it was revealed that Blitz pulling away from Stolas' hand at Ozzie's was considered one of Blitz's worst memories, one of Blitz's worst regrets, proven by the fact it shows up there at all.
The show has always shown us that Blitz cares for, has feelings for, and sees something in Stolas that makes him have those feelings for Stolas, it's just that YOU haven't been bothered to pay attention to what the show has been showing you.

Since Ghostfuckers came out, I've been seeing a lot of takes that just... confuse me and leave me wondering a lot of things. Some more lighthearted questions I end up with are, have so many people never been in love? Have they never known someone who was?
And then on a more serious note--have they never struggled with mental illness, or had a close friend who did? Have they never been poor? Have they never been disadvantaged? Have they always had privilege and health? Have they never had to overcome hardships by doing things that weren't pretty?
Have they never developed a strong sense of empathy or compassion?
What I've been learning is that there seems to be an expectation that love is something that should only happen to the virtuous, that love is only for good people. That those who have done questionable things, those who are imperfect, those who are struggling, don't deserve love. That no one who is morally gray deserves love, no one who can't perform it to exacting standards deserves love--to receive it or to feel it.
But here's the thing.
Love isn't perfect. Love isn't logical. Love isn't a measure of virtue. Love isn't just for the beautiful. Love isn't just for the whole. Love isn't just for the 'well.'
To love someone doesn't automatically redeem someone, and it doesn't need to. A character doesn't have to be flawless to deserve to be loved, or to love others. The love of a bruised and battered heart can be just as meaningful as the love from some pure, innocent, sheltered soul who has never suffered or had to make a choice that hurt.
Love is a force, and a series of choices. Love is messy and flawed and can get ugly and illogical. It's not an aesthetic. It's not a thirty-second restock video where everything always looks perfect and it's easy to believe there's nothing but perfect lives attached to it. Love can be horrible. It can hurt. It isn't something that only perfect people deserve. It can also be wonderful. It can be redemptive in that it makes you want to be better for someone else. It can be so many things... but it isn't a measure of morality. It isn't just for the blameless. It isn't just for the perfect.
Perfect people don't exist.
Love does.
And fuck. This show is set in Hell. Love might well be a fucking miracle there.

Radiodust headcanon
Alastor is always hot. He runs hotter than most demons naturally.
Angel is constantly cold. He's super skinny and that's part of it but another part is just years of abuse has left a mark.
When they first get together Angel is almost shocked how warm Alastor is and he's honestly desperate to cuddle with him all the time especially during winter.
Alastor usually isn't one for touch but he finds the coolness of Angel keeps him from feeling overheated.

A commission I recently finished for the ever lovely, ever fantastic, @fleshgerm
Given the prompt of Alastor attempting to be caretaker at Angel Dust when he's feeling sick and gross and feeling totally inept. Poor baby.
Commissions are still open! I'll be getting ready to do a new batch soon~

who would propose first, Zuko or Sokka?
Oh Sokka, definitely and enthusiastically.
Unfortunately also elaborately, so it involves a lot of sneaking around and reports of the Fire Lord’s consort being seen in the capital’s finest jewelry shops, so by the time Sokka gets around to proposing Zuko has become concerned he’s embezzling from the treasury.
Sokka: Babe, I have something to tell you.
Zuko: I already know.
Sokka, deflating: Aw man.
Zuko: You weren’t subtle.
Sokka: Are you excited at least? You don’t seem excited.
Zuko, alarmed: what about me screams tax evasion

Kataang having such 'nonlinear' relationship progress is one of my fave things about them.
Like I love how they're friends, how they have romantic moments and don't immediately change each other's persception of the other. Like I get tired of mainstream media romances having a very predictable linear plot with set "phases". I like Kataang's slow progression, i like the romance and friendship blurring, I like that after they kiss in the Cave of two Lovers they don't immediately become a couple. I like how the world around them stalls their romance.

No one has ever thought about Blitzo's perspective and I think that's the problem: a tiny analysis/essay
I was rewatching season 2 episode 6 when something kind-of rubbed me the wrong way, and it was how Fizzarolli described the fire.
He states:
And I'm a fizz lover- dont get me wrong- and I understand he was angry and obviously not in the correct mindspace at this point in time-
But this type of comment seems so unfair considering how unfair the circus life for Blitzo was. He mentions how he's angry at Blitzo for being jealous of him- but he never addresses why Blitzo is jealous. Fizz has never (on screen) addressed or even acknowledged how unfairly Blitzo's father treated him and how Blitzo had it harder in life because of that.
I feel like it would hurt so much if your best friend was so blatantly favored by your own father, the father that abused you (I think selling your kid and forcing them to steal without a care for the child's safety counts as abuse), and your best friend never acknowledged that situation and held your jealousy against you?
Barbie does a similar thing on a more extreme level, only thinking about how the accident, the fire, losing their mother, was hard FOR HER. And if you look at Barbie, she doesn't really seem to have any scars (besides on her tail, and the tattoos on her body). Therefore we can assume that Blitzo sustained more physical injuries than her - in addition to losing their mother. Yet its all about how hard it is for her.
So far no one in the series has really ever looked past Blitzo's hard persona and think about maybe why he does the things that he does.
this obviously results in Blitzo blaming himself for the fire- besides the one "You have no idea what I lost in that fire" Blitzo never ever brings up how hard the fire was for him. He never ever allows sympathy to be directed his way in relation to the accident, not from himself or anyone around him. He's convinced he's the monster, the villain of the story. It's why, every single time the fire is brought up, he is solely focused on apologizing, on taking the blame, taking the blows from Fizz/Barbie. He never defends himself. Never once does he try to seek any comfort for himself, not once does he make it about him.
My problem is that everyone lets him.
Everyone sits back and watches as he takes the blows for everything. As if its all his fault. They place the blame on Blitzo because its easier, easier than acknowledging Blitzo's pain too.
Which brings me to Stolas.
In this current Stolas situation, where Stolas goes wrong is by repeating this same behavior that Blitzo was faced with when it came to Barbie and Fizz after the accident. Something happened, people were hurt, Blitzo was hurt, Stolas was hurt- but of course it's all Blitzo's fault - it's always Blitzos fault. Stolas takes very little blame for what happened, even though he very much is equally to blame as is Blitzo.
Also note here: Blitzo has his flaws and he does make mistakes that he needs to take responsibility for. This is not to say he is 100% innocent, he's just not 100% to blame either.
Its always Blitzo who needs to apologize, Blitzo who ruined the relationship, Blitzo who broke Stolas' heart, Blitzo who ruined Barbie's life, Blitzo who destroyed Fizz. This pattern happens so much that Blitzo's turned it into a core belief: when something bad happens, he's at fault. He's the reason behind all the bad things that happen. He's the common denominator.
Which is how we got to today: he doesnt believe he deserves love, sympathy, or comfort: because he believes hes the sole cause for all this pain: therefore why should he feel happiness when all he does is take other's away? Why should he allow himself to be loved by Stolas when he hurt Barbie so badly? When he ruined Barbie's chances at love? At a good life?
It's like he's constantly punishing himself for something he thinks he's responsible for. He thinks he deserves to be miserable as some sort of pay-back for ruining everyone's lives.
And you can see as he desperately tries to act the opposite now. It's subtle, because he has to keep up his hard exterior, but its there.
Every single one of his relationships (besides those from childhood) were created because he wanted to help. Adopting Loona to help her escape foster care, befriending Moxxie and helping him escape the abuse of his father and the mafia, befriending Millie (which we don't know their back story yet but i assume he also helped her out of a bad hole, maybe by offering her a position at IMP? We will see!).
I just think he doesnt get the credit he deserves.
I think if just one person acknowledged what happened to Blitzo, allowed Blitzo to be vulnerable, allowed him to express his feelings, allowed him to grieve and mourn the things that happened to him: he would be able to move on, and improve.
It's even worse that some of the people who are the worst offenders are also the ones to claim they love him. Verosika, Stolas, Fizz, etc. They like him for the fake persona he puts up. This enforced Blitzo's belief that he must repress things, that they wont love him if he were anyone else- if he showed his true scars and trauma and if he showed how soft he really is. They love him for his fake persona, not really for him.
So he lashes out. He's shitty. He pushes them away.
And when he does let some of that vulnerability slip? He's shit on for it. When he expresses it to Fizz, Fizz covers up his words with "Glad you could admit it, want a medal?" The only small reprieve Blitzo got was when Fizz said "I guess you didn't really ruin my life."
When he expresses it to stolas "Treat me like one of your butler imps!" Stolas's response is "You think that little of me?"
Which isnt an invalid response point to bring up (and definitely needs to be addressed, which I think Blitzo is getting to bc he's becoming very aware of his other shortcomings), but at the same time Stolas has the responsibility of thinking about why Blitzo would think that. Stolas has never really listened to Blitzo when Blitzo doesnt fit into this mold that Stolas made up of him. When Blitzo gets angry and expresses how Stolas makes him feel:
"Dont act like this is anything more than you wanting me to fuck you" "You can't just throw this feelings bullshit on me" "give me a second to think!" "Oh, sorry, this entire time I assumed the worst because I was convinced a prince could never love someone like me and I've let my self hatred stop me from apologizing to anyone I could ever care about!" "How could you ever actually care for an imp… Me? How could anybody?"
He's always faced with Stolas bringing it back to...well.. anything else. He either ignores the comment all together or he goes into what he wants.
And Blitzo isnt perfect either, but I feel like we all know that. I think that everyone is well aware of how shitty Blitzo can be, but no one really addresses everyone else. Which is why i'm not getting into Blitzo's flaws, because those are a lot more obvious.
So yeah, thats why I wanted to post this lil analysis. Also because its fun to break apart their relationships and wonder why they said the things they said, get a better understanding of the story and the characters. I could be totally off with all this but I had fun writing it lol.
This is not a blitzo/stolas/fizz/etc hate post AT ALL. I love everyone and think that the story will show us who they are.
Let me know if you agree or disagree!

The whole "katara's motherly to Aang, she was coddling him" posts are so dumb because Aang doesn't need a mother and we're never given any indication of him lacking a "mother figure", this kid was raised by monks. You all are just imposing this nonsense dynamic on a kid raised in a different culture
Let alone that Aang is the only character in the gaang who traveled around the world before the genocide and its said and shown multiple times throughout the show that Aang is wise for his age, he doesn’t need a parent 🤦♂️
Katara does have motherly traits with the gaang because it was a response to the TRAUMA of losing her mom at such a young age (and she doesn't like to be seen that way, rewatch the runaway) but she’s not their mother and she’s not an exceptionally mature girl and she doesn’t really act motherly towards Aang, she’s caring and empathetic because she can fully relate to him
It does such a massive disservice to both their characters to keep pushing this narrative. Aang didn't lose anything by not having a traditional mom and dad family structure nor does he need one and Katara is such a multi-faceted character, stop adultifying her :/
One of the reasons Katara is so immediately drawn to Aang in their first encounter is because she could act like a kid again. She even says so in the first episode “he brought laughter back into the village."
2024 and we are still running in circles with these bs. The gaang mischaracterization (for shipping reasons oh boy) is insane

It's okay to be emotional over a ship.
It's okay to be emotional over a ship. It's okay to be emotional over characters. It's okay to share grievances over a ship as much as it's okay to gush over a ship. It's okay to feel so overwhelmingly negatively over a ship just as much as it's okay to feel so overwhelmingly positive.
While it's always going to be better to focus on positives, it can also be just as good to let out any negatives you might have about something rather than bottling it in and, for some, feeling alone in your thoughts about it.
It is so, so, SO OKAY to be so heavy in emotions concerning a ship whether negative or positive because it means you're invested in the characters and their relationships. When spaces seem to allow only positivity when some people might have some negative thoughts on a ship, it really negates any conversations about it and even understanding sides of why someone may or may not ship something.
While understandable, there is a double standard between being negative and positive about ships (or portrayal of characters). If you feel overwhelmingly negative about something, "you need to go touch grass". If you feel overwhelmingly positive about something, "go at it queen". I would personally argue we all need to touch grass.
It is NOT okay to harass others. It is NOT okay to let your emotions dictate that you should attack somebody for LIKING a certain ship or DISLIKING a certain ship. Your emotions DO NOT dictate how OTHERS should feel.
It is okay to be negative about a character or ship as much as it's okay to be positive about them. Neither side of being for or against a ship is more virtuous than the others. It's okay to have some fucking emotions regardless if their positive or not, because it means you CARE about the media and the characters in it.
No, you should not revolve your whole online experience in negativity. Find positive in things you DO enjoy. But to brush off people who vehemently might dislike a character or ship as "losers with no lives" is to disregard a person's emotions on something. And if you do wanna think that mindset, congrats, people who obsessively love a character or ship are just the same by your logic. Obsession is obsession, regardless if it's negative or positive.
TL;DR, If it's okay to be overwhelmingly positive in liking something like a ship or character, it should be just as okay to be negative in disliking something like a ship or character. Just as long as it's not the ONLY thing you focus on and no one is actively being bullied, attacked, or harassed about it. And of course, either way, positive or negative, it is all fiction, and a real person should not be attacked or harassed for it. And if you don't want to indulge in negativity you might have, 100% valid. Both sides always need to take a step back into reality.

One underated aspect of Kataang that nobody talks about. But probably should:
It's the fact that Katara was the only member of the gaang who completely trusted Aang from the very beginning and never really saw him as neither a threat, an obstacle , nor a prize to obtain. All she saw was a boy trapped in an iceberg for who knows how long. And being the compassionate girl that she is, immediately jumped in to help him the minute she realized that boy was alive.
By contrast, both Sokka and Suki didn't really trust Aang when they first met him. Assuming he was either a spy or a trespasser respectfully, Toph was ready to fight Aang the moment he stepped in the ring and was doing everything she could to avoid and distance herself from him after their fight, and we all know how long it took for Aang and Zuko to get to where they are by the end of the series.
