If a worker who isn't the owner says ANYTHING similar to "I'm not really supposed to do this but-" and then does something that helps you, under no circumstances inform the business, including through reviews. You tell them that the worker was polite, professional, the very model of customer service and why you like to go there. You do not breathe a word of the rulebreaking.

The thing that bothers me the most about this is she *negotiated that deal in the past*. She likely has no current control of the movie. There is literally no way to support this narrative that doesn’t tie directly back to the Illuminati or other antisemitic conspiracy theories. I’m worried about everyone. This is extremely, and I mean extra with a caramel sauce, cookie crumble, and double cherries on top, ridiculous. Stupid? I don’t know if there’s a word for this but whatever it is you certainly stumbled into it through the briar patch.
Just to check in… everyone knows that “Inside Job” was a fictional cartoon, right? Right????? Because the way people are treating Beyonce is as if the fiction cartoon and the conspiracies it’s making fun of are true and I am genuinely worried. Like… everyone delete your Twitter. Delete all your social media if it’s rotting your brain.

“… less as two points on a love triangle, more as two perspectives in the just war debate.”

the reason Iroh didn’t run the Fire Nation is because he felt so betrayed by what they did to his son (himself included) he was pro-burning the entire kingdom down with himself in it. Zuko became ruler because he was the only one at all equipped to handle it. Plus, that’s actually v common in world history when things go Very, Very Wrong and I’m not sure how anyone is saying it’s a moral reflection of the story.

I love it when fandoms forget the canon events because it’s been a while and they desire hot takes

My next unpopular fandom take is people would’ve been bothered by the foster sibling to lovers relationship in She-Ra if Adora and Catra were the same skin color.

genuinely, thank you for being so receptive. These are conversations people are having but the fandom is pretty toxic to anyone who points it out, so it’s usually not happening in public/mainstream spaces. It wouldn’t bother me, again, if people gave the text more meaning than it had originally bc people did the same thing with HP, but unlike HP, people are running away with the *canon’s* narrative. And that’s terrifying.
there was a moment when the people in the movie theatre and the capitol audience in the stands were laughing at the same things, having the same reactions to the games, to the deaths, to flickermans jokes, to the doctor's announcement...i wonder aren't we watching it for entertainment too
suzanne collins' books may exist in popular culture as "dystopian", but they have always been a meticulous and startlingly close social critique of our world. at what point does our own idolization of the movies and the books repeat that story? we watch just as the capitol audience does.
all dystopia eventually crosses a line from realistic futurism to current relevancy. how long will it take us to realize we've already crossed that line with these books? and the very people who need to realize this are the ones in that audience...real or fake, we're the same: consuming and consuming.

i said this is a Hunger Games hateblog, so I got punished with an *entire feed* filled with Hunger Games stans! I don’t care! I don’t think the series was well-written or realistic! I think it’ll fade into obscurity in the next twenty years or be outright replaced with a franchise who is better at world-building! Free me from the rot of people who think Collins is a genius, since it’s a sign they don’t have any background in any related field!

The funniest thing about all the speculation regarding the origins of the Bigfoot myth is that we know where it came from. It was a prank carried out by a guy named Ray Wallace who vandalised a couple of logging camps in California in 1958 while wearing fake feet to conceal his identity. They literally found his collection of giant wooden feet in his basement after he died in 2002, his involvement has been corroborated by multiple accomplices, and the timing of the incidents precisely lines up with when interest in Bigfoot exploded in American popular culture. We've known all this for twenty years, and everybody just quietly ignores it because it's no fun, I guess.

i think kids online should really get back to making internetsonas instead of whatever fuckshit this is with putting their entire real faces, names, ages, and such everywhere. you're not gonna realize how nice internet privacy is until you dont have it anymore and no chance at getting it back. make up a guy and a name and just be that online. make up conflicting details about your completely made up backstory. make a fursona or something

It’s really interesting to watch people go from “moral prescriptivism” to “no matter how bad things are or how they are portrayed” (as ‘necessary’ evils, as ‘moral goods’, etc) once their implicit biases are called out and evidence about it stacks up.
