How to follow a DNI! Because apparently y'all don't know how!

Step 1: locate the DNI. Most of the time it'll be in the person's bio or pinned post. But it'll also be in the tags and sometimes the post itself.

Step 2: read the DNI. See if you're on the list, if you're not, then you're free to interact.

Step 3: if you do find yourself on the DNI, SCROLL AWAY! even better, BLOCK THEM!

Bonus: how to filter tags!

Go into your blogs settings and find the "content you see" section. There's a space to add tags you wish to filter out. Fill that with all the tags you don't want showing up on your feed. This is useful for both small comforts like filtering out an aesthetic you don't like, and for bigger issues like filtering out triggering content!

AND you can use this to filter people's DNI tags! Simply add "----- DNI" into the list and boom! All posts you're not allowed to interact with will automatically be filtered!

Having and respecting DNIs is basic boundary setting and respecting!

Its curating your internet experience to your own comfort. If you don't want to come across any potential triggers, or people blatantly discriminating against you, filtering and DNIs are the best available way to go about that.

Will there be people that ignore this anyway? Yeah, that's just the internet. But that's what the block button is for. If you can't respect basic boundaries then I won't even read your comment or rb I'll just delete it and block. Boundary pushers don't get the time of day.
