Would you scoff at an infant who knows no evil, smiling at their mother who has worked so hard to bring them into the world and wants nothing more than to make it worth them? How much agony must you experience?

Emma is no devil. Emma is not you. Emma is underdeveloped and mistreated by everyone and everything she has experienced. You act as if she has sinned unbearably, but she only makes the correct mistakes. She forgave a man who had risked her life and laughed at it because she wanted to be loved. Because she believed in the good she once saw in him, and because she wanted to know what that felt like again. Is she worse than any of us? She was the girlfriend (and little more than that) to a man who only saw himself. How could she possibly see herself without him? She deserved so much better.

Emma is funny, and sweet, and smart, and energetic, and worth so much more than any of you could ever believe. I would kill for her. I would kill for her to have something better. You don’t deserve to speak about her.
