Quick Disclaimer
I just wanted to say that despite being on Wegovy for weight loss, I have been working with a registered dietitian for a few months now.
In the last couple of years I have also worked with a therapist specialized in eating bahaviour and a registered dietitian that also focus on the same.
I have dieted for a years, have lost weight twice and right now I am just focused on bringing everything together. I think the problem with obesity is not a question of discipline and motivation. The obsession with food is very real and the food noise is non stop. This medication offers some silence and allows to focus on what needs to be changed long term.
I would not have gone into this weightloss drug without a support system. I am in the UK and I buy my medication from the pharmacy. I have spoken with my GP.
I am not interested in a quick fix and figure out maintenance while I despair with my weight crawling up after I stop taking the medication.
I am using this oportunity to really do a 180 on my life. Everyday is an opportunity to change my habbits.
I have a meal plan to follow that will allow me to lose weight in a sustainable way. I am not interested in being skinny, I want to be strong and healthy.

Day 3 on Wegovy
Or should I say, day 3 of some fucking mind peace.
Not having to worry about staying on my food plan is such a relief! I wish this could be forever... I honestly do.
I felt the effects of the medication the same day I took it, I got to dinner and was able to just stop eating when I was full. I could have eaten more, but it was easy to stop when I felt full.
I could have done it before, and have done before, but it was a hard decision to make and I failed more times than I succeeded.
I still can eat a lot but it is a lot easier to say no right now. I don't know how this will progress during the week and the work environment... but I can manage this way, I just need this bit of silence to be able to think about what I am doing.
I ate according to my meal plan during the weekend, missed one snack only and it already had an impact. I am no longer bloated. I can really feel it in my hands.
I am looking forward for a week of eating well. I always feel so good when I stick to my meal plan!

Went to Leon this morning and spotted this book. Perfect timing I must say!
I have been on a journey to improve my gut health these past few months. I am not a protein fanatic and don't understand why people are so obsessed with it. Protein is so easy to eat enough... but now fiber... that's a completly different conversation.

I had a Green Shakshuka & Halloumi, which is two poached eggs topped with cumin-spiced green shakshuka, grilled halloumi cheese, aioli, and fresh herbs.
Got it down with a slice of buttered homemade sourdough bread.

It has been a year...
I absolutly forgot I created this blog last year.
Many things have changed since then! I am back to work and moved countries!
My mental health is in a better place but I am sad to report I have not been able to make much changes to my physical health.
I am still stuck on the same problems I was before. Trying and failing to lose weight while feeling guilty about it.
Last year I did start to run! I successfully completed C25K but then I moved countries and I've not run since. I watched a lot of good tv shoes while running, it was great!
Since I moved, I have started exercising with Kettlebells as my strength routine of choice. I have been doing a lot of 15min ENOM and to be honest, it makes me feel like I run 30min everytime it's over!
I think that what brings me here again is what happened this week...
I got my first Wegovy injection yesterday. I never thought I would jump into this stuff but here I am! I want to keep a bit of a diary about it and connect with others that are also on Wegovy/Ozempic/Mounjaro or other similar medication.

Prep for nutrition appointment
I've tried many professionals inn the field with little result. Not a reflect of their skill but my own motivation to follow through with their recommendations.
Since I've free time to focus on my diet and hit the gym, I'm working with a dietitian from tomorrow. She checks all the credentials and I've worked with her in the past, although I was not in the right mind frame.
I'm trying to get ready and think about what I want to work on with her.
I've done some blood tests over Christmas 2022 and my GP was horrified at the results. And right now, I'm also terrified at my lack of care for my health. I 100% have a difficult relationship with food, so I kind of go in circles between wanting to lose weight, and stress eating because I'm not losing weight.
I'm quite tired of running in circles!

So my health problems to address are:
Reduce colesterol
Increase vitamin D to normal levels
Increase iron to normal levels
Get to a normal healthy weight - 154lbs
I know that losing weight is not a proper health concern, but I'm super unhappy with it right now; I lost a lot of mobility, flexibility, my chest has doubled in size, it has affected my sleep...
It needs to go!

Hi!
Here we are again, not my first blog about this subject. I think I've had a weight loss blog here, on and off since I was 18. I'm now almost 35... what am I even doing?
Anyway.
I'm currently unemployed and not worried about it, so I've decided to focus this time on getting my health under control.
Let's see how it goes!
