"I'm quitting the shop!!"
“I’m quitting the shop!!”
I hope I didn’t scare you! This was actually an email I sent to my VIP club about a month ago. I had so many people write back to tell me that it was a help to them, so I decided to share it here as well. While I’m not closing the shop, not too long ago, I said those words while sobbing heavily on my husband’s shoulder. You see, I finished out 2016 with huge goals & dreams. I picked the word…

Posting this sunny yellow throwback photo, just because it's been raining off and on here in Georgia for the last three weeks and we need a little cheery. . 💗 . #throwbackthursday #plannertassel

The trials and tribulations reading list...
The trials and tribulations reading list…
Tumblr media
Do you remember that time everything was falling apart, and just when you thought you couldn’t take any more… …it happened. The car stopped. You got the pink slip. Somebody gets sick. Life can be so ridiculously hard, and sometimes we just need a little encouragement. Sometimes it’s a caring text from a friend, a verse that stands out and speaks to us in our quiet time, or maybe it was someone…

On Memorial Day
On Memorial Day, have you ever stopped during the national anthem and suddenly felt tears welling up in your eyes and an overwhelming gratitude in your heart? I wasn’t born or raised in the United Stated, but as someone who came to live here as a young adult, and have close family members going all the way back to WWII who have served this country at some point… the flag, our anthem, their…

When Mother's Day hurts...
When Mother’s Day hurts…
“Julie, I think I’m going to sign off of social media. Mother’s Day hurts too much…” I was talking to someone recently, and they were telling me how difficult it was to see all of the ads, photos and posts leading up to tomorrow. As we scroll through Facebook, it doesn’t take long to realize that there are so many different emotions going on this weekend. There are everything from blog posts…

Faith not fear...
Faith not fear…
Today, I was sitting down to fill out the ‘reflection page’ in my Brilliant Life Planner, and I was thinking about how I don’t always see huge progress from week to week. That being said, when we look back a few weeks, months or even years, we can see how much God is teaching us and growing us.     One area that God is really working with me on is learning how to trust Him more. I don’t know…

Unconditional love...
Unconditional love…
Yesterday my baby brother married one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met. The ceremony was beautiful and Christ centered, and God far exceeded my prayers and hopes for his life. There was a short devotional given about unconditional love, and while that’s often thought about and talked about at weddings, it applies to every aspect of our lives. God gave us the ultimate example of unconditional…

Are you a worry wart?
Are you a worry wart?
I know this is kind of a personal question, but are you a worry wart? I’m going to be very honest with you… I am. And with all of the health scares that have happened to my family in recent months, let me tell you… I’ve lost a LOT of sleep. But I came across this verse that really convicted me the other day: It is folly to think the Lord provides grace for every trouble but the one you are in…

Light at the end of the tunnel...
Light at the end of the tunnel…
*Phew* This week has been a whirlwind! If you have been following along over on Facebook or Instagram, the week before Christmas, my hubby was rushed to the hospital for a gallstone induced, pancreatitis attack. From there we found a mass on his pancreas that required a biopsy (which came back benign!), and we have been in and out of the emergency room, never knowing when the next gallbladder…

Do I love God's word?
Do I love God’s word?
Cherry Blossom Planner Clips   This last week I had the unique opportunity of getting to meet someone who has recently come to know Jesus as their Savior. As they asked questions and had them answered with verses from the God’s Word, they clung to every word, wrote in the margins so they wouldn’t forget what they learned, and asked what other passages they could read to learn more. Guys, I’m…

Smart girl's guide to colorful eclectic decorating.
Smart girl’s guide to colorful eclectic decorating.
Until recently, I didn’t realize that colorful eclectic decorating was even a thing… All I knew was that I LOVE whitespace, with happy, pops of color. And because I had to do everything on a slim budget, I would often rely on random pieces that I would spray paint to match my favorite colors, or hang a screen printed freebie that Scott got at a conference to my wall. I thought, “Hey… maybe this…

Relaxing when there's too much to do.
Relaxing when there’s too much to do.
No matter what season of life we are in, I think it’s safe to say that at some point in our lives, we feel like relaxing is a luxury that we can’t afford. If you’re a full time career woman, you are probably working long hours, sitting in traffic, waiting to get home while trying not to let the stress of crazy drives get to you. If you’re a stay at home mom, trying to find a second to get a…

Planner charms going live tomorrow!
The planner charms are going live in the shop, tomorrow at 12pm EST, and I can hardly wait!! I’m always excited when I get to launch a new product and get to share it with you. I feel like I’m getting to share a piece of my own personal journey every time that I do. The ‘It Is Well’, ‘Be Still’, and ‘Grace’ that you see on these planner tassel charms are three things that God is constantly…

Why you need intentional self care
Why you need intentional self care
We got some snow over the weekend, and everything got cancelled, so my family and I spent a little extra quiet time together and time catching up around the house. Aside from a few shop things and catching up on laundry I really spent some intentional quality time in with the family and time to do some deep thinking about 2017. I mentioned before that my word for 2017 is ‘Intentional’, and there…

New goals, new year, new words.
New goals, new year, new words.
Am I the only one that struggles all of January to not write in the previous year’s number?? I’ll go to date a letter, check, or get ready to journal about my new goals, and I can guarantee you that I’ll still be writing in ‘2016’ for the first little bit! 😆Despite my yearly mixup, I really am excited every time we see a new year. New dreams, new goals, new victories… Last year I tried something…

The hardest letter I had to read...
The hardest letter I had to read…
I have so much to tell you about!! I had an amazing time at the Business Boutique conference I went to this week. It encouraged and inspired me to use the gifts and talents that God has given us to bring Him honor and glory. Everything that was said made me want to do more than make my business better. It made me do some soul searching and want to be a better Christian, wife, mother, and friend……

Guess what starts tomorrow!! I'm cleaning out all of my violet, royal blue, and emerald green products because my supplier will no longer be carrying these colors after this. So sad about it, but that means that I will have a 'Christmas in July' tab set up in my shop starting tomorrow, where there will be a lot of things in those colors marked down to 50% off! Those of you who know what kind of work goes into each piece know that I NEVER mark things down that low, so put the Christmas records on, make a cup of cocoa and join me for a little, early Christmas shopping tomorrow through Tuesday! 😍🎄❤️🎁 #Christmasinjuly www.tokyoblossom.etsy.com
