One of the largest wrasses, the Asian sheepshead wrasse is an extraordinary pinkish-grey fish with large, swelling-like protrusions on the ‘forehead’ and ‘chin’.
Like its close relative, the California sheepshead wrasse (Semicossyphus pulcher), the juvenile is starkly different from the adult, being a vivid yellowish-orange with a white stripe from the eye to the tail, black patches on the fins and tail, and lacking the bulbous face protrusions of the adults, for which the species earns its common name.

What is the smallest aquarium size to keep guppies in a species-appropriated way?
Depends on a lot of factors.
I will go with an assumption of 3 guppies and a 5 gallon tank.
Keeping 3 with proper filtration in a 5 gallon would be just fine, I would recommend males only as they are generally the sought after ones for their coloration. Although an all female tank would be just as fine as well. If you wanted a trio say 1 m 2 f that would be ok as well but you would have to plan something for the fry after a week or so after being born.
On the other hand you could easily run a nice sized colony in a 10 gallon tank, again with a nice filtration to bioload ratio. I do most of my raising in 10 gallon tanks and keep about 25 fish in those with simple filtration but I do water changes 2x a week at about 20% water change .
If you have any more questions for me feel free to ask. Try and make them more specific.

Hey friends, so, I’m not generally one to send you off to email senators in a tizzy. But if you are at all interested in exotic pets, this is a *pretty big* potential threat to the community that is getting absolutely no coverage right now.
The amendments to the Lacey Act would, essentially, make it illegal to transport *any* exotic pet across state lines for any reason- including if they are a pet and you are moving. An unspecified “white list” will exist, rather than any kind of “black list” ( a black list would absolutely make sense. Many exotic animals should be regulated better, especially particularly dangerous or invasive ones.) A whitelist however would effect so so so many more species, with no evidence that this would actually achieve the stated goal of the act at all (to limit the spread of potentially invasive species.)
I honestly have no idea how this would impact *zoos* and animal rehabilitation centers, but as it is worded right now, it could crumble the reptile, amphibian, and invertebrate owner communities. (Also AQUARIUMS. This applies to FISH too.)
Again, I’m a strong advocate for better regulation in the exotic pet hobby. Randos shouldn’t be keeping tigers and king cobras and crocodiles in their backyards. Proven invasive species, like green iguanas and lion fish, need to be better regulated. Wild caught imports should be curbed as much as possible. But this kind of slap-dash ban is going to impact a lot of people and a lot of animals for no benefit.
So.
Ya know.
If that’s something you are passionate about. Email or call a senator.
