That sums it up pretty well, I do wanna clarify that Remus is not blind to Janus's sneaky nature, he just thinks it's hot.
Victorian era au where Remus is the stereotypical rebellious royal kid and Janus is the unfortunate noble kid who ended up getting dragged into his shenanigans. Remus knows he's the spare brother and knows that he can get away with anything with just his title, and Janus knows that even if Remus is never put in power, just being his close friend is a massive power move. Roman of course figures out that Janus is a untrustworthy person, but he does have to admit that Remus is a lot happier now that he has a close friend.
#this is so dumb#i didn't read all the tags#it was so sweet and I ruined it🫠#>prev tags#no you didn't#you nailed it exactly#remus thinks Janus's lying is hot and roman just cannot comprehend how low his brothers standards now#question where do u think patton would fit into this au#i think logan would fit in as a courtier#and virgil as another noble kid like janus#but im not sure where pat would fit in

They're saying it's gonna be free on Gamejolt, which is incredibly cool and neat and noble of the team to do.
Programming: 100% completed! There is nothing else for us to do programming-wise for the demo!
Voice acting: Completed! For the demo at least! We still have one character left to get the voice lines for, but they will not be making an appearance in the demo.
Art: As of right now we have yet to complete any of the character sprites or extra artwork. However, this is the final step we need to complete in order to release the Connected demo, so we're hoping to have them finished as quickly as possible!
Keep your eyes peeled for the demo to come soon!
#i do wanna say that i completely understand why they don't have a friendship opinion planned#its a indie fan game with a very small team#im sure they're swamped as it is#its very much just my aroaceness wanting to just be friends with everyone#its not realistic for the project and that is understandable and respectable

EXACTLY!!! I get so much shit from my family for being on the aroace spectrum, and idg what the big deal is! Okay so what if I realize later down the line that I do in fact want to fuck, that doesn't change the fact that current 15 year old me doesn't want to fuck. That doesn't change anything. 15 year old me should not be fucking anyways, this is a safety measure that they should appreciate.
tbh it doesn't rly hurt teenagers to incorrectly id as ace like... what's the worst than could happen? they don't have sex till they're older?? lol
#they aren't homopobic necessarily but they dont get my labels and im just kinda accepted that they're gen x and they're not gonna get it#i seriously dont get whats so confusing to people when i say im ace#i dont wanna fuck simple as that#fuck is in fact icky and sensory overloading and my brain doesn't register people as fuckable#its the autism#not me#seriously though i do wish people understood me when i try to explain my sexuality#i know im young but hear me out maybe i do know my own brain#if a 15 year old told you their type you wouldn't tell them they were too young to understand#so idk whats so different about being queer

My idea for how they met is that Janus snuck out of a ball and was just walking around the gardens trying not to be noticed when Remus, who also snuck out and was hiding in a bush, scares him and they keep bumping into each other after that and Janus just has to accept he's friends with this guy now, then realizing that being friends with the Duke and very much potential heir to the throne is a great plan. Roman does hate him though, he never misses a opportunity to remind Remus that Janus is the type of person who would figuratively and literally stab him in the back. Remus could not care less though.
#also yes demus#so much demus#remus has never had someone who genuinely stuck by his side and actually wanted the best for him#and janus has never had someone who saw through his crafty front face and sees the guy who just wants a escape from the suffocating pressure#they see through the lines of red tape and social expectations and see the people underneath#roman might be a little jealous of that and that might be a small reason why he hates janus so much#that and the fact that janus's family has a reputation for being sneaky and going around the royal family and roman knows janus is not above#his family's underhanded tactics and that janus has and will use the other people in the court as pawns#because he watched janus use and manipulate another noble kid years ago#and hes seen how on edge and untrusting that kid is now and doesn't want the same thing to happen to his brother#the kid was virgil btw

Granted I don't think Remus is more mature than Roman, I do think they're both more mature than they act but not more mature than each other. Roman as more of a defensive mechanism, he lashes out when he feels scrutinized or attacked and pretends that its just immaturity when its insecurities. And Remus as a ace up his sleeve, he uses it to get under people's skin and to hide his true cleverness. Like how Virgil acted rude in s1 because he thought they'd take him more seriously but Remus doesn't want to be taken seriously, he wants them to underestimate him.
History nerd rant here: I really like that Roman and Remus are specified to be a prince and duke. In a royal family context, a prince and duke were equals, the only time a prince was specifically over a duke was the crown prince or heir to the throne. The thing is that Roman is never specified to be a crown prince, he's just a prince. Which means that he and Remus are, in terms of royal titles, equals. It's a really clever way of messing with the audiences perception of them.
#i think logans caught on to the fact that remus is purposely acting stupid in order to trick the others#which is why he treats remus like the mature person he knows remus really is when he tries to confront him during wtit#i do think they're both a product of their environments#roman living with patton and logan who are the polar opposites in terms of maturity so roman feels like he needs to be the in between#and remus who lives/lived with janus and virgil who both conceal their true natures for their own gains so he does the same#they both morph their personalities to fit who they're around because they want to belong and the easiest way to belong is to fit in and#match other peoples energies but they've both lost part of their own identities in the process#roman wants to be expressive and emotional but logan and patton constantly scrutinize him for being overdramatic and loud#and remus who wants to be original and profound but janus treats him like a pawn that he can force into any role he wants and#virgil is scared of him and makes him tone himself down to be quieter and less grotesque#the twins are a lot to handle and they deserve to be taken at their full value including the chaos and loudness and expression that comes#with that but the people in their lives tone them down into more digestible versions of themselves for their comfort and never consider how#much it hurts the twins in the process

Remus strikes me as the older one, mainly because I'm a older sibling and he just gives off those vibes. Also I 100% vibe with the idea that the twins "woke up" from the spilt at different times, and yet again I think it'd be neat if it was Remus.

#remus 100% uses the fact that hes the technically older one against roman#hes 100% called roman is younger brother just to watch romans reaction#remus just has older brother vibes#he has trial run kid vibes#thats the vibes he gives off#but i think he has even more older brother vibes based on his reactions with virgil#1 because i like the theory that virgil is younger than the others but 2 because remus picks on him the same way i pick on my sister

I think part of it's because of the way they showed that they cared. '92 Jack goofed off with them and teased them but he wasn't mature in the way that the fandom views broadway Jack as being. And part of that is the fact that 92 Jack is played by a 17 year old and bway Jack is played by a 30 year old, they have completely different tones and body language simply because they're a decade apart in age.
i hate how badly ‘92 jack is misinterpreted ESPECIALLY when people try to bring him down so they can bring broadway jack up
like please he did infact care for those boys n their safety!! he isnt the selfish ignorant brat people think he is!!
#are yall happy newsies moots#im still in this fandom#im in fact not that easy to get rid of#92sies#newsies#jack kelly#toursies#livesies

#since they are brothers then that means that they're both a apart of the same “royal family” so to that one person whos gonna come in and#yap about how “actually no the prince was always above the duke” no you are in fact wrong and i in fact want you to shut up#anyways i was just thinking about that#i doubt it was the teams intention and they just wanted to separate the twins and giving them different titles was a really easy way to do#that but from a narrative perspective it makes the audience have this superior view of roman that doesn't actually exist#and i think thats really neat#but that's just me#ts sides#roman sanders#sasi#sander sides#ts roman#sasi remus#sasi roman#remus sanders#ts remus
