don't get me wrong i love silverborn a lot but SO many of the hollowpox cliffhangers were left unaddressed. I don't think this is because of bad writing though, i think morrigan was just. unaware. we saw something similar when holliday wu tried to get morrigan to go out and speak to the crowd during hollowpox; the museum of stolen moments was largely forgotten amidst the new plot, and morrigan is left to think that there were hardly any large-scale repercussions. but holliday knows better, she was left to clean it up, and morrigan was (rightly) shielded from the backlash. in neverfive i wouldnt be surprised if it was revealed riots and anger and protests all raged on in silverborn, but morrigan was too (again, rightly) caught up in her own issues to notice it. we saw how angry the concerned citizens were when their perceived villains were UNCONSCIOUS and unable to respond to accusations. now they are alive and left to deal with the consequences of the attacks they weren't even in control of, and the people they attacked and their families are angry, so very angry, and they don't have answers for them. there have to have been huge debates as to whether or not the hollowpox victims should be imprisoned for their crimes, or if they should be absolved. if wunimals were treated badly beforehand, imagine what they're treated like now.

hear me out on this i think the museum of stolen moments was one of the most traumatizing moments in the series. she got kidnapped by a mass murderer (again) after thinking she'd been outed as a wundersmith, which would have destroyed her and her unit at that time. she killed a ton of people in front of her best friend (indirectly but survivor's guilt is real). she saw her friends chained to platforms dangling in air while people bid on them like cattle, and she knew that she was the cause for it. when israfel started singing it signaled to her that there was no hope for those horrible people, and sure they were definitely horrible but did they deserve to be doomed to die in such a horrible way???? this is also the only time she's ever heard ACTUAL angelsong, so if she hears it again, SOMETHING is getting triggered im telling you

i love the amount of real-world parallels in hollowpox. obviously there's the sort of covid-19 reference and the clashing of two sides fueled by racism, but the thing im thinking about the most right now is Gracious Goldberry. we are repeatedly told that she is a horrible person, and yet we are also told that she is extremely impressive in regards to inferno, and a wonderful example to learn from in that respect. both of those things are true at the same time, and sophia, one of the people who has the strongest reason to solely focus on the racism and throw that talent away, actively acknowledges her skill and shows it to someone else she knows will benefit, also encouraging her to understand that one thing does not cancel out the other. time and time again i see bad, wicked people who are rightfully defamed, but then people also insist that they had/have no good qualities either. if a singer does something bad, by all means dont support them, but it's okay to say that they were good at singing.

Actually, most society members probably have C-PTSD actually. Not only are several of the trials extremely traumatic and potentially life-threatening, it doesn't stop there. These children go through repeated life threatening situations throughout their time in the society, as children and as adults. They have immense pressure put on them from a young age.

This is also an excuse to headcanon Jupiter with C-PTSD. He's just gotten very good at masking (like most society members; they're trained to, after all) but will sometimes have the occasional breakdown if he's triggered by something.
