If your Nerve, deny you— Go above your Nerve— He can lean against the Grave, If he fear to swerve— That's a steady posture— Never any bend Held of those Brass arms— Best Giant made— If your Soul seesaw— Lift the Flesh door— The Poltroon wants Oxygen— Nothing more—
If your Nerve, deny you - by Emily Dickinson
I'm wondering today how to find the wit to continue to pull myself up by the bootstraps. The Oxygen I have found is this: perhaps Emily is saying inspiration is the master.
How else does one go above their nerve when nerve (strength/will), deny --fail? I need an idea, an insight from one who has gone before, so that I may take ownership of my next step into the chasm of daunting creativity and the advocacy required.
What is pretense, and what is undeniable? How does one solicit chances, opportunities, when doors slam all around? How does one eek out time to do the work that greatness requires when mental energy and resources drain into the plates of shifting economy?
I am challenging my weariness, I've been beaten to the point where Nerve denies me. And so I lift the Flesh door to give my cowardice the Oxygen of inspiration. I allow my emotion to drift from will, to humble wonder, as I am forced to focus on the task of livelihood at hand. And as I starve, I dream.
Objectivity is stronger than the Nerve that denies me. And "what is" becomes a parallel realistically challenged by "what has not" yet appeared. I shift the emotional weight to instead be inspired, and in that moment I recover faith that had departed.

Collaboration, Baby. Check out the downbeat @ 3:18. 'Critical acclaim'. Word.
The slightly more experimental ‘The Other Side’, featuring Cee Lo Green and B.o.B., has had a lot of critical acclaim, and was co‑written by a whole swathe of people (Mars, Lawrence, Levine, Brody Brown, Mike Caren, Patrick Stump, Kaveh Rastegar, John Wicks, Jeremy Ruzumna, Joshua Lopez, Bobby Simmons Jr.), but was produced by the Smeezingtons alone. Levine explains that “‘The Other Side’ was also written to somebody else’s track. We redid the sounds and then added things on top of it. Then we found out that there were all these writers on the track, and we went OMG! In general, we find it easier to write songs to an existing track. We approach writing songs almost like remixes: anything can change at any point in time. There’s nothing set in stone." -Ari Levine
