I believe I might me raccoonkin, so I'm going to give you info because that's what the pinned post told me too do!

Noises: Adults: Purring, chittering, growling, snarling, hissing, whimpering, and apparently they can screech like owls Babys: Mewling, whining, and basic crying

Foods: Fleashy fruits (Tomato, grapes, strawberries, olives, etc.), mast (Acorns, hickory nuts, & beechnuts.), grains, rodents, birds, and fish

Habitat: The live in forests near a water source, near humans. they build their dens in holes in trees, fox burrows, rock gaps, brush piles, attics, & etc.)

Predators: Cougars, bobcats, coyotes, and dogs.

This isn't very database related but more so an opinion!

I wanna make a subtle therian candle set! I just need 2 more animals (even though it's bad to be "generic" I do need 2 more animals and want them sorta generic for a therian!)

My two first ideas for this four candles candle set is:

Like a wolf: woodsy, line, tree

Like a fox: light bakery scent, maybe cinnamon-y?

(Logo will have a consistent wood bg with text saying: "LIKE A" at the top and then at the bottom the scent "fox" or "wolf" with the animal of that scent!)

I am gonna list scents I have so you can brainstorm bc ik ur good at it!

Nature sents (wood/forest and rainbow)

Fruit scents (guava, pear, apple strawberry, cucumber, etc)

Bakery scents (coming in today Aug 16th! Will dm u)

Beach/coast scents (also coming in today and will dm u!)

Anyways here's some ideas:

Like a sloth: tropical, fruity scents, with some woodsy ones mixed in? (Guava, strawberry, cucumber, wood/forest)

Like a cat: probably bakery vibes, some woodsy scents, def feeling like a honey scent would go well! ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

Like a shark: beach vibes!! Salty, fresh scents that make you feel like ur underwater! Maybe some cucumber in there?

Like a dragon: campfire scents, anything that feels spicy, like nutmeg or cinnamon scented candles, and wood/forest :3

Like a bear: woodsy scents, maybe a salty beachy scent, some bakery scents!

hey therianblr, ive decided im gonna make a conlang just for therians. and im only going to let therians or alterhumans learn it. if youre interested, dm me (or if you have ideas on how it should sound) :3

the concept is similar to things like pig latin, its a language for a certain group of people, and that group does not want outsiders to learn their language so were gonna basically have our own language to ourselves! but that also means well have to regulate the resources used to learn it since its not meant for non alterhumans

Hi!! If you were unaware, I am [a part of] an osdd-1b system! I see many different websites and apps and tools for systems and I love it! I love knowing that my people have resources. However, because of how many resources are already out there for systems, system resources are pretty low on the list of app priorities. I'm hoping that eventually we'll be able to get up some good system resources, but for the first few updates there with not be a lot specifically tailored to systems/alters. Keep in mind that this does not mean the app will be void of system accommodations, and we will do our best to make it nice until the more in depth accomodations and resources are added.

some stuff about therians [please read!!]

I keep seeing a lot of discourse about therians, "physical" therians, fictionkin, etc. etc. I'm here to say that

1: I know the bare minimum about lycanthropy, but I do know that those who live with it do not deserve to be ridiculed and hated or pitied.

2: therians *do* think they are animals. that is what being a therian is. it is a belief that in certain ways, (whether that be physical, mental, spiritual, etc.) you are not human. While *most* therians maintain the knowledge that they physically are human, even I (as someone who does not experience many physical shifts) question why my body looks human sometimes.

3: not every therian has gear, and many therians cannot do quadrobics. Please be mindful that some therians do not have the money to purchase or make gear, and some have disabilities in which they are unable to do quadrobics. Even if a therian is able-bodied, they may not want or feel the need to do quadrobics and that is valid. Therianthropy is not based on gear or quads, it is based on a deep personal spiritual experience.

4: otherkin, plantkin, fictionkin, etc. etc. ARE VALID!! their experiences are different from yours, but you need to realize that when you ridicule them you are just as bad as the people who ridicule you. I'd love to educate y'all (and possibly myself) on some different terms too :3

I remember years ago I dreamed of opening an alterhuman cafe. I imagined a little paradise where all species could get together and just chill. We would serve drinks and snacks for specific theriotypes, there would be a little gift shop selling tails and stuff, a lounge area upstairs where you can make a den out of pillows, an outdoor quadrobics course etc. It’s not something that’s really possible, but it’s a nice idea I think.

I, a burnt out autistic highschooler, want to create an app for therians (as a therian myself).

Here's the basic features:

A database full of information on as many animals as possible (that can and will be updated!)

Blank templates for otherkins!

Each user has a profile- public or private- and can add theriotypes and notes about those theriotypes!

A journal feature where you can add pictures, drawings, and notes to a digital journal, similar to a glorified notes app lol- and you can make certain parts of your journal public or private!

Packs!

What are packs?

Have some word soup as an explanation: Basically if you want to create a pack to either make friends or add your friends, you can submit a pack request, where you explain why you want to make a pack and if you have specific people in mind to join, and I'm thinking that I don't want it to be like everyone has their own pack or whatever so that's why it has to be approved and stuff like I don't want too many different packs. Basically it's like a discord server or an amino thingy it's a big group chat and the pack creators can set up virtual events and send out pings like "hey! Join this zoom call if you wanna do some arts and crafts!!" Or smth like that

It's a database and a community!! If you would like to help out, please please please send an ask!! I would love all the support I can get!

Hey therians? Can we please stop throwing each other under the bus? I keep seeing things saying "therians are people who identify as an animal on all levels except physical" and stuff like that. There are multiple problems with that definition.

Some therians do identify as a nonhuman physically

Some physical therians only identify as nonhuman physically

Some therians only identify as nonhuman on one level

Some therians feel uncomfortable being referred to as "people" because, by definition, it refers to humans.

You need to specify as a nonhuman animal, not just an animal. Humans are animals too.

"You are born a therian"

There are many different reasons why someone may identify as a therian such as neurodivergency, mental illness, trauma, etc. Trauma and mental illness (and other reasons/causes for therianthropy) develop over time, they aren't something you're born with. Therefore not all therians are born therians. I myself was not born a therian or a therian when I was a kid.

"Therians know they're human"

Then why the hell are you a therian???? If you're a therian then you identify as a nonhuman animal. Why are you identifying as something you're not????

Hmm nullhuman is GOOD but it does leave out those who are, say, demihuman or overhuman/humanmore, bc they're not NOT human they're just human and also alterhuman/nonhuman/etc! If I'm understanding correctly this is for the app name? Which, you've been doing your best to clarify is for everyone who's not exactly human! But you could call it Alterbeing or Alterbeings? Or something adjacent to or playing off of those! Because they're terms that have been getting enough circulation to be in the neocities alterhuman dictionary, and alterbeing is specifically noted as a less human-centric alternative! Sadly the nullhuman idea can't transfer over with it bc nullbeing is saying not existing, and we definitely exist, but you could tweak it in a similar vein like giving it a latin prefix in place of alter!
