Neck Kisses
I got this idea for a short blurp and inspiration struck. I know it’s been a good two years since I wrote anything, but I saw that Criminal Minds might be making more episodes and I felt the writing bug. This story starts off a little spicier than I typically write, but it’s not exactly sexual. However, it does have some undertones, so if you’re under 18 or uncomfortable with that, read at your own risk.
Pairings: Spencer Reid x Reader
Word Count: 1,025
Warnings: Canon typical violence, fluff, hospitals, neck kissing
What was it about neck kisses that made them feel so good? Was it the tingles that ran down your spine through to the soles of your feet with every kiss? Was it putting complete trust in someone with such a vulnerable part of you? Or was it the feeling of love and intimacy clouding your judgment so your following decisions were just the right amount of stupid? Scientifically it was because of the large number of nerve endings on your neck releasing endorphins and dopamine with every carefully placed kiss.
Whatever the reason for why neck kisses felt so good, you weren’t feeling any of them. But maybe that’s because no one was kissing your neck. Instead, someone was choking it. And fighting as hard as you could to get them to stop. Who’s idea was it to use you as bait to get the unsub to come out of hiding? Oh yeah, that was you. But to be fair, no one else was coming up with good ideas and it was the only way you could get the guy. And you also would like to point out that it wasn’t supposed to get this far. “In and out. No biggie,” you told your team at the BAU.
So you put on makeup and a little black dress, and now you were pinned to an alley wall being choked by this scumbag of a predator. Hopefully, the team would get there before you went unconscious. You’d taken enough self-defense classes to know not to let the dude overtake you completely, but he was much bigger than you and had thrown you off guard when he decided to punch you and throw you against a brick wall, just for good measure. On top of struggling to breathe, you were also seeing stars from a likely concussion.
“You know, when I saw you walk into the bar, I knew exactly who you were.” The unsub grinned as he paused in his attempt to strangle you. “Agent Y/L/N of the Behavior Analysis Unit. I saw you talking about me on the news last night. You described me so well but you got some details wrong. So I just had to call your little hotline. Make sure you got everything right about me.”
His eyes were bright with desire. He was a classic narcissistic sadist. He got off on causing you pain and was proud of it. He continued in his attempt to strangle me, not giving me a chance to respond.
“I knew I would be caught, but I couldn’t help myself from giving myself one last joy ride. I’m going to be famous. The Bar Strangler. You know, it doesn’t have much of a ring to it. Do you think they’ll let me come up with my own name during the trial?”
There wasn’t a cue for when my team was supposed to run it, but damn, if they didn’t have good timing. The black Suburbans squealed to a stop at the entrance of the alley and suddenly you were being blinded by bright lights.
“Let her go, Jenkins! It’s over!” Hotch yelled, pointing a gun at the unsub. Unceremoniously, you were dropped to the ground and started coughing as precious air filled your lungs. The next few seconds were a blur as Jenkins was placed in handcuffs and Spencer came running over to you.
You put your hand up to let him know you were okay, but he knew you better than that. He was your boyfriend after all. “You know, I told you this was a bad idea,” he quipped, helping you stand up.
“Yeah, but we got him, didn’t we?” you responded with a grin. Spencer shook his head and leaned in to kiss you.
Your kiss was cut off as Derek came over and gently placed a hand on your shoulder. “Alright, love bugs. Hotch wants to make sure you're medically cleared before we get back home. So that means Y/N, here, gets a lovely night in the emergency room.”
You pulled away from Spencer just enough so you could face Derek, but not too far so you could still use him for support. A groan came out your mouth, already knowing you weren’t going to be able to get out of this. That didn’t mean that you weren’t going to try.
“Do I have to? I already know what they’re going to say. ‘Well, Agent Y/L/N, you have a bruised trachea, a concussion, and some bruises to the face and neck. We’re going to prescribe you some pain meds, don’t use heavy machinery, and get plenty of rest and fluids.’” After your monologue, you looked to your boyfriend for the support you knew you weren’t going to get.
“The only way you can prove that’s what they’re going to say is by actually going. Come on, I’ll stay with you,” Spencer quipped before wrapping his arm around your shoulder. He gently steered you in the direction of the waiting ambulance.
Once the two of you arrived at the hospital, Hotch came by to give you a lecture about how your actions were foolish, blah, blah, blah. You were pretty used to the lecture. You’d only been with the BAU for two years and had already received that lecture at least five times. It was amazing how you hadn’t been put on probation or fired yet. But you were also really good at your job and that was probably why.
Once he was done, and the doctor told you exactly what you thought they were going to tell you, you scooted over so Spencer could sit on the bed behind you. Once he was situated, he wrapped his arms around you and gently pulled your back into his chest.
He carefully gathered up your hair and pulled it to the side so he could place kisses along the bruises on your neck. “I’m so glad, you’re okay.” You closed your eyes and leaned into him as exhaustion started to take over. “I love you, Y/N,” he whispered against the skin of your bruised neck, causing a shiver to go down your spine.

heat of the moment {spencer reid}
Tumblr media
summary: They don’t always get along, but have to put their differences aside when assigned to go undercover. What they didn’t expect were for things to go right and wrong.
warnings: angsty as hell, some swearing, mentions of violence (abduction, murder), mentions of death
word count: 4.6k
a/n: To write this, I combined parts of this request & a request from @umlvk, hopefully, I was able to fulfill what you requested :) Writing angst super fun and kind of therapeutic in a way (am I crazy?) so I hope you all enjoy it. Feel free to leave any messages, feedback, or requests in my inbox <3

The stakes were extremely high, and the weight of it all was starting to shake me in a way that I have never experienced. I would like to think that I’m able to collect myself in high-stress situations, compartmentalize even, but this time felt so different. The pressure was on as I stood in my hotel room, JJ zipping up the cocktail dress that was tight in all the right places but I began to feel self-conscious about my colleagues seeing me in this way – definitely not my normal work attire.
There were five women dead, all within the past two and a half weeks, two of them under our noses while we’ve been stationed here in New York City for the past four days. They were abducted in environments that exuded wealth, stripped of any lavish possessions, and left as if they were trash. Something we have all sadly seen before in this line of work. But, the identities of the partnership between the dominant and submissive had been the most difficult to narrow down.
After many hours of rearranging the profile, revisiting the dumpsites with fresher eyes and an altered profile, we came to a conclusion. We learned their tricks and intimate details of their sick game; the blatant narcissism of the dominant and how his power of manipulation forced the submissive to do all the dirty work. I thought the hard part was over, but it was far from.

The Love Language Series Part 5
Quality Time
Part One Part Two Part Three Part Four
I am both excited and sad to make it to the last part of my Love Language Series. This has been a fun series to write for and I’m so happy to see all the love it has received since I’ve started it. Let me know if there are other topics like this you would like me to write on. The Deadly Sins would be fun, or maybe the five senses? Hmmm 🤔
Pairings: Spencer Reid x Reader
Word Count: 782
Warnings: Mega fluff, mentions of murder, torture, but no details
“Father always said that money doesn’t grow on trees. Well, time doesn’t grow on trees either.” Richelle E. Goodrich
It was your anniversary weekend and you and Spencer had been planning a getaway to a resort and spa. But, of course, duty always called when you didn’t want them to. It was another case and this one was a bad one that both of you needed to be in attendance. Reluctantly, you called the resort to let the staff know that there was a chance that you and your boyfriend might not make it back on time. You understood that it was too late for a refund and reassured the staff that if you couldn’t make it, they could give your rooms away to another couple.
The next two days, you poured your focus into the case. You couldn’t afford to focus on missing out on your anniversary so you didn’t. You and the team worked hard and together, you figured out who the unsub was and led the team to arrest him just before he torture and kill another person. It was an exhausting extraction both emotionally, mentally, and physically. You’d been the one to talk him down from shooting the victim and that always wore you out.
But soon enough, everyone had made it back onto the jet. While everyone slept, you finally allowed yourself to think about your anniversary and realized that you were going to miss check-in for the resort. With a sigh, you pouted and looked out the window. It sucked that you couldn’t spend your anniversary at a fancy hotel, but at least you were with Spencer and that was enough for you. Plus you liked getting to work so closely with Spencer. You got to see your favorite side of him. The side that was dedicated to helping people in need.
When the jet landed early in the afternoon, you told Spencer to head home without you. You’d meet him there after you finished your paperwork. He hesitated, knowing that you were disappointed, but then his demeanor changed and he agreed to head home. You knew he was planning something, but pushed the thought back so you could focus on your paperwork. You hated paperwork so you quickly finished it. It still took the rest of the afternoon, and by the time you were done, you were so tired the words had started to float off the paperwork. You ordered an Uber and impatiently headed home.
Upon arriving home, you noticed that it was dark inside. You figured maybe Spencer was having a migraine so you quietly walked through the house. You slipped your shoes off and carefully set your house keys down on the counter.
“There you are!” Spencer exclaimed, walking into the hallway.
You quirked an eyebrow up when you saw he was only wearing a thick fluffy robe and a pair of slippers.
“You look comfy,” you commented as he walked up and kissed your cheek.
He pulled back and you could see the childlike mischievousness gleaming in his eyes. Without a word, Spencer stepped behind you and covered your eyes with his hands. You protested at first, but he just shushed you and gently led you forward. You had no clue what was going on but had an idea of where he was leading you based on the changes in the floor.
When your feet hit the tile, he stopped you and pulled his hands away. He’d completely transformed the bathroom. The bathtub had been filled with steaming water, bubbles, and rose petals. There was a soft rug on the floor and the counter was filled with face masks, feet masks, hand masks. Basically any type of mask there was, you were pretty sure it sat on your counter.
You weren’t speechless very often, but you were at that moment. Spencer moved so he was standing next to you and smiled at your shocked expression.
“I know you were looking forward to our spa weekend and that you were disappointed that we couldn’t go. So I asked Penelope for some help and brought the spa here. There’s also cheese and wine and I’ve ordered take out for later.”
You were still so surprised and speechless that all you could do was turn towards Spencer and press your lips into his. He quickly returned the kiss, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you into him. The kiss continued to deepen until the two of you finally pulled back so you could breathe.
“Do you like it?” Spencer asked. He was breathless and was leaning his forehead against yours.
“I love it, Spencer. Thank you so much. You are absolutely amazing!”
“I’m so glad. Go change into your robe and meet me back in here. The night has just begun.”
“The best gift you can give anyone is to spend quality time with them.” Laurence Overmire

The Love Language Series Part 4
Gift-Giving
Part One Part Two Part Three
Hello everyone! I am so so so so sorry for the delay in continuing this series. As some of y’all know, the plan for this series was to write a part every night that I was traveling while I moved. Well I made it two days sooner than I thought I would and have since been without a wifi connection. I know tumblr can be finicky about posts so I wanted to make sure I had a good signal before continuing. But here it is and I plan to get Part 5 up very soon. I also have a few other ideas for stories I want to post including a multi-part fic, but I’m not too sure on that. It’ll be kind of therapeutic so I’m not sure if I’ll just write it or if I’ll post it. Let me know if that’ll be something you’d want to see. Or if you have ideas, let me know.
Pairings: Spencer Reid x Reader
Word Count: 997
Warnings: Sickly sweet fluff
“No one has ever become poor by giving.” Anne Frank
Everyone on your team always noticed how much you liked to give. It was as second nature as profiling was. It was more than just being kind. You were incredibly thoughtful and always seemed to know what your team would appreciate if not love for a gift.
At first it had been obvious. Bringing everyone their favorite coffee in the morning, by clothes for the kids, or giving Emily your favorite brand of eyeliner that she just had to try. At first, the gift giving kind of irked Spencer. He thought you were doing it for attention or to kiss everyone’s ass as the new girl. But it quickly became clear that that wasn’t the case. Especially when Penelope had mentioned how she always loved egg drop soup when she was sick. You must have kept a notepad in your head or perhaps on your phone because the next time she had a cold, you had spent all afternoon whipping up homemade egg drop soup. You’d made sure to save enough just for Penelope, but everyone got to taste it and raved over how authentic it tasted.
When you too started to date, he began to appreciate it even more. Even found it endearing. He’d always been under the impression that the guy was supposed to give the girl flowers, but then you started to bring him flowers to his apartment after every case. And they weren’t just designed by a florist, these were handpicked and always related to the emotions of the case. You’d leave a card explaining the meaning behind each type of flower in the bouquet.
One day, Spencer had just gotten back from a lecture to hear a knock on his door. It was a unique knock that only you made, so he hurried to answer.
“Hey you!”
You had a pile of bags looped around your arm and Spencer already knew that there wasn’t a single thing in them that was for you.
Maybe the gifts would one day become annoying, but Spencer hoped it never ever would.
With excitement in every bounding step, you walked into his apartment and threw your arms around him.
“You will never believe what I found at the thrift store this morning! I saw it and it immediately made me think of you, so I knew that you had to have it. I also found things for Henry, Michael, and Jack that I know they’ll love!”
Spencer laughed as he kissed your cheek and led you into his apartment.
“I can’t wait to see it. Do you want something to eat first, or do you want to show them to me now.”
Your stomach gurgled on cue, indicating that you’d spent another morning thinking of others rather than thinking of your need for nourishment. It sometimes worried Spencer, but you were in no way malnourished, so he didn’t dwell on it.
“I suppose I could eat something. Maybe, I can show it to you while we eat!”
Your excitement was contagious and Spencer chuckled as you hurried to place the bags in the counter.
“Hmm, I don’t know. You seem quite hungry. Maybe we should wait until after we eat to open them. That way you don’t get food on them in your excitement.”
His voice was light and teasing, but you gasped and placed your hand on your chest.
“I would never spill food on things that I’m giving to someone. Not even on accident!”
You then deflated some as you saw the clarity in his argument.
“So yeah, I suppose we should wait until after we eat to look at them.”
Spencer chuckled as he proceeded to get the fixings out to make dinner. He couldn’t cook, so you always made sure to send him home with make-ahead meals that you had made and they were always delicious.
The teasing continued as he slowly reached into the freezer to pull out the casserole dish and slowly started to preheat the oven. He was even slower as he pulled out the fixings to make a salad.
You started off waiting patiently but as it became clear that he was teasing you, you became more antsy.
“Ooooh,” you groaned as you shifted from one foot to the other. Spencer only smiled as he slid the dish into the oven and then turned to.
“Now we just wait 30 minutes for the food to heat through. Would you like wine to go with it?”
You stomped a foot and started opening bags in desperation.
“Dammit Reid, I can’t take it anymore. I need to show you what I got you!”
Spencer laughed and shook his head as he followed you into the living room.
“I suppose we can look while the food cooks.”
It was all in good fun, and Spencer loved seeing how excited you got to show him what you had spent time looking for and deciding would be the perfect gift for him. It may not seem like it, but it was clear that you did it out of love and he felt honored that you loved him so much that you took the time to think of him in such a thoughtful way.
You had made your way to the couch and looked up to see Spencer standing in the doorway staring at you. You’d arranged the bags so that his were on the coffee table and the things for the kids had carefully been placed on the floor.
“What?”
His stare was kind of intense and it made you nervous. You loved giving gifts, but still had anxiety that someday, the ones you loved would find it all annoying and start rejecting them. Or you.
Spencer shook himself out of his thoughts when he saw the look of anxiety flash over your eyes. He quickly sat himself down and pressed his lips into yours before squeezing your hand.
“Nothing. I was just thinking about how much I love you. How much I love this.”
“Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.” Booker T. Washington

The Love Language Series Part 3
Acts of Service
Hello everyone! Here is part three to this series. Sorry that it is so short. I was pretty tired when I wrote it and had trouble piecing something together. I think this came out cute though and I hope you all enjoyed!
Pairings: Spencer Reid x Reader
Word Count: 599
Part One Part Two
“There is no such thing as a simple act of compassion or an inconsequential act of service. Everything we do for another person has infinite consequences.”
Caroline Myss
Every morning you found a cup of coffee on your desk. It was from your favorite coffee shop and your favorite drink on the menu. It only took you a few days to realize that bringing your own cup of coffee was futile because it would just get cold. Then like clockwork, you would find the stack of files that you had been planning to finish since the night before, already done. They even managed to organize the files the way you liked them. All that would be left to be done is inputting them into the computer. It was like clockwork and had been going on for weeks.
You never found it creepy. In fact, it was incredibly endearing to you. You just wish you knew who in the office was paying so much attention to you. It couldn’t have been Morgan. He was in a relationship and you’re pretty sure Penelope would spill the beans if he was sweet on you. Hotch and Rossi were too old (although you supposed it could have been a paternal thing but doubtful). And you didn’t think Prentiss or JJ rolled that way. Maybe it was someone from a different department. Maybe Payroll or IT.
It finally became obvious to you when a certain Doctor in the office offered you a ride home after a late night. You gratefully accepted, not looking forward to taking transit back into the city. As he opened the passenger door for you, your profiler eyes immediately fell on the full punch rewards card from your favorite coffee shop. When he sat down, you held the card up with a raised eyebrow.
“Hey! I didn’t know you like this shop. It’s my favorite,” you commented. Your brain was starting to turn and you couldn’t help but pick on him for it.
“Oh yeah?” Spencer asked. His eyes were focused on the road, but you could tell he was trying and failing to be subtle.
“Yeah. They have the best coffee. And they’re banana bread is so good. It’s weird though. I never see you with one of their coffees, but your punch card is almost full.”
Spencer glanced over at you and then down at the card. “Yeah, I guess I drink the coffee before I get to work.”
You dropped the subject, deciding to test your theory at a later date. Instead, you and Spencer struck up a conversation and you realized how much the two of you had in common. You both loved reading, learning, and Doctor Who. Maybe you didn’t quite have the intellect that Spencer had but you two both connected on a level you hadn’t even realized was reachable with him.
When he finally pulled up to your apartment building, you were a little disappointed. You took a moment to sit back and look at Spencer, studying him for a little bit.
“Thank you for the ride. You know, you’re a lot of fun to talk to Spencer.”
Spencer smiled wide and it made your stomach flip with butterflies.
“Thanks. You’re a lot of fun too. Maybe I should give you rides more often.”
You nodded and agreed with him. With a round of goodbyes, thank yous, and see you laters, you finally made it into your apartment.
If you hadn’t been sure before, you were almost positive now that Spencer was your office admirer. Especially the next morning when you found your coffee. Next to it was a slice of banana bread with a sticky note. The sticky note read, “Maybe next time we can get coffee together? -S :)”

The Love Language Series Part 2
Words of Affirmation
Hello again! Here is part two in my series on Love Languages! I was so pleased to see everyone has loved on the first one and I really think everyone will love this one too. It’s almost sickly sweet.
Pairings: Spencer Reid x Reader
Word Count: 635
Part 1
“It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” Edmund Hillary
You were probably one of the kindest people in the BAU if not the entirety of the FBI. You always were quick to say something genuinely nice to someone. Whether it was complimenting their outfit or giving words of encouragement to a victim’s family, kindness was definitely one of your best personality traits.
And it was because of your kindness that everyone always assumed that you were as happy as your words made you seem. But Spencer Reid knew better. Of course, at first, he was like everyone else. You always seemed so upbeat that it took him a few weeks of dating you to realize how depressed and discouraged you could get.
So Spencer took it upon himself to be the person who showed you the most kindness. Not just because he was your boyfriend and he cared for you, but because you deserved it. Your kindness helped so many people that you had well earned some kindness in return.
At first Spencer was subtle about it. He would send you short texts from across the cubicles about how beautiful you were or how well you’d done at the round table meeting. He’d leave sticky notes on top of files with words of encouragement or even short poems that alluded you how awesome he thought you were. They never failed to make you smile and feel better.
Soon the subtleties went away though and Spencer made sure to be more open with his words of affirmation. It took you a while to notice until one day when Strauss had been on the war front. She’d been critical of everyone but it seemed to have affected you. You were the youngest of the team and always had a feeling like maybe you didn’t belong and Strauss had done a great job of confirming your anxieties. When she left you at your desk near tears, you waited until she’d shut the door to her office and quickly excused yourself.
You were just about to escape to the bathroom when you felt a hand gently wrap around your arm.
“Y/N…” the voice was soft and you knew it belonged to none other than your boyfriend.
You turned to him and for the first time, Spencer was seeing you cry. You still tried to cover it though, blinking back tears and smiling weakly.
“Hey Spence. I heard you did really well on the lecture today. I’m proud of you.” It amazed Spencer how even when you looked so beat down, you were encouraging him.
“Nothing that Strauss said was true,” he said quickly. As he spoke he pulled you into a hug.
It was like a dam broke and you finally allowed the feelings of inadequacy and anxiety to flow out in silent tears. Spencer stayed with you, rubbing your back as you cried. After a few minutes he pulled away from you and cupped your face in his big hands.
“Listen to me carefully, okay?” He waited for you to nod before continuing. “You are an amazing woman. You work so hard to make everyone happy that you forget about just how incredible you are. You’re so so kind but also intelligent and brave. Everything Strauss said was wrong. You are an asset to the BAU and you have been since the day you joined. Everyone on the team loves you. Including me.”
As he finished he pulled you in for a brief but passionate kiss. It was over too soon, but only because Spencer wanted to wipe your tears away.
You smiled up at him amazed at how he was making you feel. He’d only used a few words but you immediately felt better.
“Thank you,” you whispered, turning your head to kiss your hand. “You’re pretty amazing too. And I love you too.”
“A word of encouragement after failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success.” Unknown

The Love Language Series Part 1:
Physical Touch
Here it is my lovelies! Part one of my five part series on the different love languages. To start off is physical touch. It might be a little rough because I was pretty tired when I wrote it, but I hope you all enjoy nonetheless.
Pairings: Spencer Reid x reader
Word Count: 796
Warnings: Cotton Candy sweet fluff
“your hand
touching mine.
this is how
galaxies
collide.”
Sanober Khan
This was a particularly hard case. For everyone, but especially Spencer Reid. All of the victims had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and it just hit a little too close to home. The two of you had just started dating and while you wanted to comfort him, you didn’t know how without touching him. And you tried to avoid touching Spencer. It’s not that you didn’t enjoy hugs or cuddles, you just assumed Spencer didn’t like to be touched.
He always turned down handshakes and occasionally when Morgan or Rossi would slap him on the shoulder—affectionately, of course—or hug him you would notice him flinch. So you didn’t touch him. It was difficult for a budding relationship, but you wanted to make Spencer comfortable with you and figured that was how you should do it. The two of you hadn’t even kissed yet which was weird to you, but manageable. You cared for Spencer enough to not want to trigger anything by touching him.
So when you found Spencer’s thin body crushing yours into a hug, it took you by surprise. One moment he was standing outside of your hotel room, near tears, and the next his arms were wrapped tightly around your body, his face buried in your neck. The shock wore off quickly and you wrapped your arms around him, letting him hug you for as long as he wanted too.
You knew it was because he was hurting, but you admitted to yourself that finally hugging Spencer felt nice. He was warm and his hair tickled your nose and he held you tightly. After a few moments, you reached your hand up and ran your fingers through his hair.
“Do you wanna come in and talk about it?” Your voice was soft as you continued to play with his hair.
Clearing his throat, Spencer straightened up to look at you. His eyes held so much sadness and it broke your heart. He nodded once, his lip trembling.
You smiled softly and held your hand out for him to take. He hesitated before placing his hand in yours and allowing you to pull him into your hotel room. The two of you sat on the couch and you turned so your legs were folded crisscross and you were facing him. He did the same and this time without hesitation, he took your hand and started playing with your fingers.
“Sorry to wake you up,” he mumbled, staring at your entangled hands.
“I wasn’t asleep. There’s too much that needs to be done to sleep,” you commented, trying to hide your shock. This was the most time that the two of you had ever spent touching each other and you had been dating for almost a month now.
You looked up at him and knew that it was the case that was bothering him so much. You wondered if he had called his mother recently, but decided to let him dictate where this conversation would go.
He stayed silent though, just continuing to run his fingertips over yours, the light sensation tickling you. It made you sigh in content and he looked up at you.
“I needed this,” he stated, holding up your hand. “Did you know that hand-holding and touching can make your brain release endorphins, the same mood-boosting chemical that's released when you exercise. It also releases oxytocin, aka the “cuddle hormone,” which makes you feel more bonded to your partner.”
You raised an eyebrow and decided that you might as well bring up this conversation.
“I thought you didn’t like to be touched. That’s why I haven’t touched you before.”
“I don’t mind it. I’m not big on handshaking is all. I honestly thought that you didn’t like being touched.” His smile was small and shy, and it made you chuckle.
“I guess we’ve learned something about ourselves then. I love being cuddled. As you said, it makes you feel good.”
You paused in your conversation, looking down at your hands and again at your boyfriend. For two brilliant profilers, you two sure had missed the ball on this.
Slowly, you inched closer to Spencer and placed your free hand on his knee. You leaned into him and placed your head on his shoulder. You couldn’t see his face, but you could feel his smile as he situated the two of you so you were cuddled against him and his back was leaning against the armrest of the couch.
He placed his hand on your head and started playing with your hair. “Thank you for this,” he whispered.
You smiled as your hand grasped his shirt. “Of course, Spencer. Let’s do this again sometime real soon.”
It was his turn to chuckle as he propped his chin on top of your head. “Anytime.”
“If I could touch anything in the world right now, it would be your heart. I want to take that piece of you and keep it with me.” Jessica Verday

Spencer Reid x Reader Blurb 1/?
A/N: I think it’s safe to say that this is my shortest story ever and officially qualifies as a blurb. I was inspired by the Fake Redheads Writing Prompt No. 339 and decided to write something around it. I quickly realized it was going to be short and I’m okay with it. It was super fun to write, but all too short. I will probably have a story coming out tomorrow. Next week I’m challenging myself to a five day writing challenge and I’m writing a series about the five different love languages. This should be a cute series and if you wanna be tagged just let me know. :)
Writing Prompt: “You know how to unlock handcuffs with a paper clip? Teach me!” “Absolutely not.”
Warnings: None really. Major fluff but it’s cute
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Reader
Word Count: 425
“This looks bad doesn’t it?”
Your boyfriend shook his head, not surprised at how calm you were. Especially considering you’d just been kidnapped by the unsub and was now handcuffed to a pole. For some reason, you didn’t get scared in these situations. If anything you thrived in these types of situations. Which is why the BAU team had used you to bait the unsub. You hadn’t been captured for very long. Only an hour or two. But Spencer Reid had spent the entire time worried for you.
“Did he hurt you?” Spencer asked as he stooped down to unlock the handcuffs. He paused as his eyes looked over your face and carefully ran his thumb over a bruise on your cheek.
You rolled your eyes before shaking your head.
“No. This is only superficial. I’m fine.”
And you were. Besides a bad headache and a bruise where the unsub had slapped you, you were going to walk away without a trip to the hospital. Pleased with your response, Spencer patted his pockets looking for a key that would unlock your handcuffs.
“Dammit,” he muttered when he realized he didn’t have any keys on him besides the keys to the FBI car. He continued looking before his eyes lit up.
“Ah, here we go.”
He held up a paper clip and you raised your eyebrows as he got to work.
“Really? You don’t keep handcuff keys but you have a paperclip in your pocket?”
It took you a few seconds to realize he was picking the lock with a freaking paperclip.
“Wait. You know how to unlock handcuffs with a paperclip? Teach me!”
“Absolutely not. That is not a skill that you need to know.”
You pouted as the cuffs finally unlocked. Spencer took your wrists in his hands and gently started to rub where the cuffs pinched the skin.
“How come you get to know the incredibly useful skill?” You continued to pout. Your eyes let him know you were teasing but you were definitely going to bug him about this for a while.
“A magician never reveals his secrets,” he teased before pecking your lips.
You rolled your eyes again as he helped you stand up. “Well, thanks for letting me out, even if you are keeping secrets from me now. I will find out though.”
Spencer laughed as he pulled you in for a hug. He kissed the top of your head, grateful that you were safe and only inconvenienced from all of this.
“I’m sure you will, Y/N. I’m sure you will.”

Poker Faces & Mistletoe Kisses
A/N: Wow! Two stories in two nights! I am officially on a roll! I wasn’t planning to write a Christmas story, but I got a lovely anonymous request to write a Secret Santa story. So without further ado, enjoy!
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Reader
Word Count: 1,686
Warnings: None really except for some almost cotton candy sweet fluff
Request: Hey, could you do a Spence request? Since your masculinity one was sooooo gooooood. It's Christmas at the FBI, and the team has done Secret Santa and you got Spence, your best friend. Presents are exchanged at Rossi's mansion, and you end up being under the mistletoe with Spence when he asks you out on a date. 🎅
“One thing even a poker face cannot hide is love.”
― Tapan Ghosh
“Alright my lovely crime-fighting superheroes! Gather around the Christmas tree! It is time to open our Secret Santa gifts! And this year we’re adding a fun little twist!”
Penelope Garcia couldn’t have been more excited for the annual BAU Christmas party and it was infectious. You’d only been going for two years, but they were amazingly fun. It helped that the BAU team was such a tight-knit group, but they were also just a lot of fun. It was a good distraction from the otherwise dark world that tended to surround the team weekly.
Everyone slowly made their way to where Rossi had set up the beautiful Christmas tree. (You were fairly positive he had paid for it to be set up, but you weren’t complaining.) The room was cozy and warm, exactly how Christmas should be. It smelled like a mix of mulled wine, apple cider, and the Italian spices Rossi always used to make his traditional Italian Christmas meal.
You carefully balanced your cocktail on one knee as Spencer sat on one side of you and Derek on the other. It was the perfect you sandwich on pretty boy bread and you couldn’t have been more pleased with your couch buddies.
You smiled to yourself as you noticed that Spencer was particularly close to you. It was how you normally sat next to each other. Whether it was on the seats in the jets or each other’s couches during your bi-weekly Doctor Who marathon. It made the cozy atmosphere that much more cozy knowing he was sitting close to you.
“So what’s the twist this year, Baby Mama?” Derek asked a flirty smirk on his lips. “I know it’s going to be fun if it came out of your beautiful mind.”
Penelope practically bounced with each movement as she paced in front of the group who had all sat down on various couches, chairs, and floor cushions.
“It is going to be more fun than bingo night at the Rotary Club. Which is quite fun if you believe it or not,” she quirked. “So, the rules are each person will be presented with their Secret Santa gift. Once it’s been open, everyone will try to guess who’s gift it is. If the group is right, the gifted drinks. If the group is wrong, then the group drinks. Makes sense?”
Everyone nodded in response so she turned and started to rummage through the pile of gifts under the tree.
“First up is none other than Boy Genius, Dr. Spencer Reid himself! Here you go.”
Carefully she placed in front of him a small Christmas stocking and everyone leaned in to see what was in the gift. An awkward and shy smile crawled across Spencer’s lips as he removed the tissue paper and pulled out a deck of poker cards and a tie wrapped in ribbon.
“Oh wow, poker cards! I’m guessing someone wants to try their hand at besting me,” he remarked. You could tell he wasn’t nearly as excited for the gift but was doing his best to hide his lack of enthusiasm. Everyone else however had already started profiling the gifts to guess who they were from.
“Both gifts have a certain whimsy, playful quality to them,” Emily said as she looked up at Penelope.
“Yeah, but the cards look vintage. Maybe even antique. Some thought was definitely put into them,” Morgan added on, reaching across you to grab the box. It did look vintage and you looked over his shoulder in interest.
After a few more seconds of everyone deducing who could have given the gifts, the conclusion had been made that they were from Rossi.
“Nope,” the older man said, popping the “p” and taking a sip of his scotch.
“Well, then who gifted them?” JJ asked, looking around as everyone took a sip from their drinks.
Everyone that is… except you.
When they realized it was you who had gifted the poker cards, everyone looked shocked and it didn’t surprise you. Traditionally you were ah-mazing at giving gifts. It was your love language and you had a knack for giving thoughtful and personal gifts. A tie and a box of poker cards didn’t seem like you. Especially after last year when you’d personally made Rossi a leather-bound book full of the recipes he’d taught you that year.
After shrugging it off, everyone wondered if maybe it had just been a fluke and continued with the game. You knew better though. You had an ace up your sleeve that you planned to play later that night.
Not too long after, everyone had been given their gifts and everyone was starting to get tipsy. You weren’t too bad yet but the vodka in your drink was starting to give you the type of warm fuzzies you generally avoided. After graciously thanking JJ for the beautiful pair of boots she’d given you, you quietly stood up and escaped to the kitchen for a glass of water.
While you were helping yourself to the iced water and a few cubes of fancy cheesy you felt someone behind you. Turning, you discovered it was exactly who you thought it would be.
“Hey, Spencer.”
Spencer smiled and walked up to you so you two were close.
“Hey. What are you doing in here?”
You shrugged and held up the glass with water in it.
“Just hydrating. Trying not to get too drunk.”
Spencer nodded before starting, “Actually drinking water doesn't prevent a hangover. In fact, studies have concluded, the only way to prevent a hangover is to drink less alcohol.”
He finished his little factoid with a quirky smile and it made butterflies erupt in your stomach. You didn’t know why, but sometimes you felt like you were the only one who actually enjoyed it when Spencer quoted one of the many facts that he knew off the top of his head. His intelligence and passion for knowledge and learning made him uniquely him and you loved it about him.
“Well, it’s a little late on the drinking-less-bit, but staying hydrated during a party has never hurt someone,” you responded with a shrug.
A comfortable silence fell over the two of you as you popped another cheese cube into your mouth.
“You know, I’m kinda surprised at your Secret Santa gift. It’s not what I expected a gift from you to be like.”
Spencer’s face turned red and you hoped your poker face hid the laugh you were failing to suppress.
“That’s because it’s only part of the gift, Spencer.”
“There’s more?” Spencer asked, raising his eyebrows.
Nodding, you put your glass down and took his hand. “Here, come with me.”
With your best sneaky, flirty smile, you slowly led him out the backdoor and to a spot you’d scouted when you’d first arrived at the party. Rossi’s property was massive, but you’d taken notice of the invasive plant covering a tree near the garden and knew it was the perfect location. Christmas lights had been strung throughout the yard and it held for quite the romantic ambiance.
Once you’d gotten settled under the tree, you turned to Spencer, pleased to see he was oblivious to what the two of you were standing under.
This was it. This was the moment you’d been planning on. You were going to reveal to Spencer your feelings. There were some anxieties about if he didn’t like you back, but you were confident Spencer reciprocated those feelings. His poker face wasn’t nearly as good when it came to relationships.
“That deck of cards is more than just your typical poker set. Yes, they’re vintage, but they’re more than that too. Open the box and see for yourself.”
Spencer tilted his head in confusion as he pulled the box out of his jacket pocket. Carefully he pulled the lid off of the tin box and read what you had written on the first card.
“52 Reasons Why I Love Spencer Reid.”
His head popped up and his eyes went from confused to bewildered to shocked to pleased to uncomfortable in a matter of seconds. It was a whirlwind for you to watch and try to interpret his emotions.
“You love me?” he asked as he took the cards out of the box. Slowly, he shifted through the cards which listed the various reasons why you had started to fall in love with Spencer over the two years that you had been working together.
“I think I do. Yeah. I don’t know if I actually know what love is, Spencer, but the feelings I have for you are more than just attraction.”
When you didn’t get a response, you started to panic.
“I’m sorry. It’s a stupid and unprofessional gift. I shouldn’t have done all this… especially if it’s going to ruin our friendship. I just needed to tell you how I feel and—“
You were cut off by a pair of lips pressing into yours. You could feel yourself practically melt but as soon as they were there, they were gone.
You opened your eyes and looked up at Spencer.
“I think I have feelings for you too, Y/N. I have for a while now, and I’ve wanted to ask you out on a date, but I didn’t want to ruin our friendship if you didn’t feel the same way,” Spencer explained as he tucked a piece of hair behind your ear.
His hand came to rest on your shoulder and you hoped the smile on your face was cute and didn’t feel as big and goofy as it felt.
“So you like my gift then?” You asked hopefully.
Spencer chuckled as he nodded. “I do.”
“That’s good then. Otherwise, I would have felt awkward placing us under a tree full of mistletoe.”
Eyes wide, Spencer tilted his head up to confirm that what you said was true. Sure enough, the parasitic plants were covering the tree. Some of the branches were low enough to be right over your heads.
“Well, I guess we should kiss again?” Spencer suggested as he stepped closer to you and leaned in.
“I guess we should,” you agreed before pressing your lips into his.
“She was in the only place she wanted to be right now.
She was home.” Tilly Tennant
