okay so. story board? how in life there are infinite parallels and there is infinite grief but also joy. and that grief and joy are parallels of each other. sarah was the sun, ellie is the moon. something cheesy like that. joel is a good man. joel is a bad man. joel is a father. a father is supposed to protect his kids. can you really begrudge him doing whatever it took to accomplish that?

right soooooo the narrative i created here is between ME and iMOVIE.

but i'll share some of my thoughts anyways..: uh. joel teaching ellie how to defend herself. joel taking care of ellie. anna is her mom (obvs). sarah is her sister (rip, sarah and ellie would have the time of their lives terrorizing joel together). joel is her DAD. if only this song was called "Joel Lessons" but we can't have everything i suppose

anyways this idea was stuck in my head forever and i never really make edits but my brain was nagging nagging nagging until i gave in. and here we are

The point I’m trying to make is, you taught me how to be strong and independent. How to navigate myself in a world full of treachery and prejudice. You are the reason I understand how imperative it is that I never lose sight of myself. So as far as fatherhood goes, I would say you’ve been more than adequate.
