People that haven't played Alan Wake: This Control game is pretty cool. Should I play Alan Wake, too? It seems weird, and I remember hearing some not good reviews about it.

People that have played Alan Wake: Everyone on Earth should play Alan Wake. Alan Wake is not just the greatest game ever made, it is the greatest story ever told. This is not an exaggeration or satire. This is true.

ok but like. there are two different types of privilege. there's type a "everybody should have this, but some people don't" and type b "nobody should have this, but some people do"

there's having parents who can pay for your application to any college, and then there's having parents who can bribe your way into any college. there's owning your own home, and then there's owning 50 houses and getting rich off hoarding a vital resource. there's not fearing for your life whenever cops are around, and then there's being the cop and being allowed to murder anyone at any time.

idk i just feel like that's an important distinction to make.

This is what it comes down to for me. They ruined AI as a damned concept. They built the tech off the works of millions. It's ruined.

Relate to this a lot. There was a point in my life where I was very much suicidal, but one of--emphasis on one of--the reasons I never did it was because I thought, "what if Alan Wake 2 comes out and I don't get to play it?"

There's something really nice about organising my AW2 Alan cosplay- Alan Wake was what first got me interested in cosplay but I was a teenager with no money so it went nowhere. Back then I didn't plan to make it to 25, and now I'm 30 and living.
