Saatchi and Saatchi knocks it out of the park here.
Pain Point: Kids always eat stashed away chocolate in the house. They’re like pigs to the truffle. Worst off, the parents are left with nada.
Solution: Show kids hating the bitterness in dark chocolate due to their underdeveloped tastebuds. Splendid is basically calling themselves an adult dessert.
Tagline: “When you grow up you’ll get it”  - easily a 9 in my book.
Originality: While kid’s reaction videos seem second only to Cat Vines, the title’s concept alone draws you in. Why would kids hate chocolate? - That’s what was going through my mind, at least. Saatchi calls out a simple truth: immature tastebuds. We instantly get it.

An amazing example of advertising used for good. (Cheers to Grey) Here’s why it rocks:
1. Let’s get this out of the way, the spray helps saves lives. Fairly safe to call that one a win.
2. This is key, the spray doesn’t just save lives, it saves lives in a way that relates to Volvo’s universe. It’s not them developing a paint for some random problem like drunks pissing on public buildings (please for the love of god, watch this gem--http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2982683/Locals-fed-drunks-urinating-party-area-St-Pauli-Hamburg-cover-walls-hydrophobic-paint-bounces-covers-clothes.html ).
3. It’s crazy innovative, which led to the extensive press coverage (otherwise I wouldn’t be writing about it, right?).
4.  Because the spray’s invisible to the naked eye by day, it solves a pain-point of the spray ruining your clothes. There’s little to no downside for the user.
5. I’ll keep it short and sweet on this one. Rarely do we see great examples of synergy between advertising a brand and truly helping the world. Personally, it’s why I got into the business. Here, Volvo gets to have the cake and eat it too.

Alright, before I start getting all over Krispy’s Kase (heh heh heh), let’s just take a step back for a second, even if it’s a half step.
What’s the one knock Americans typically get when we travel abroad? We’re ignorant. We flash our money, we ask for American toppings on foreign food (thanks Heinz), and I’m sure our dress wear can stick out like a sore thumb. Bottom line? Many times we’re disrespectful because we don’t take the time to do background research on culture nuances and common practices of other countries. I’m not saying all of us are like this when we travel, but I’m sure that the stereotype holds some truth.
Hell, I moved from Virginia to New York City six months ago and I am STILL clueless on what most the traditions and acceptances are here.
Here’s my point, this was Krispy Kreme UK who tweeted this big mistake. Can we really expect them to know another country's terrible/sensitive history moments? It depends on what event and how far back it was, but not a resounding “yes”. Don’t get me wrong, this was terrible. And if it was an American agency or social media group who had posted this, they’d be fired. If this was Krispy Kreme North America? It would’ve been catastrophic.
The silver lining? They quickly took it down and more importantly, they gave a semi-extensive apology. I’ve always been a firm believer a brand can show true worth by how they handle their mistakes, rather than the mistake itself. Now, it’s up to Krispy to tighten up future social audits and to turn this error into an opportunity.
My advice? When, (not if) people start tweeting negative comments towards Krispy’s handle, respond to each and every single one with an unique answer that demonstrates that this doughnut company is actively listening and gives a damn about the issue.
Social media’s a double-edged sword, it brings a sense of immediacy and intimacy to the world that wouldn’t be otherwise possible. But it will force you to do your homework on a post to the point of overkill.
Actually, being forced to learn another’s culture and history to gain a better understanding and respect? Wow, what a Koncept.

With the so-called sharing economy taking off not only in our country but all around the world, saying to somebody, “I’m going to call an Uber” is becoming as commonplace as saying, “I’m going to catch a cab.”

#my(god)calvins
If you've been residing under that rock for the past week, you would've missed Calvin Klein's new poster child for 2015. I can't emphasize the child aspect enough. They chose pop star and part-time philosopher, Justin Bieber.

No doubt Calvin Klein wanted to get someone who was relevant. I get that. Love him or hate him, he is relevant. And on a very small level I applaud them for going bold.
But did they not think were going to get by without parodies galore? There had to be internal discussions on how the Biebs is polarizing. And by polarizing I mean it's the 6-15 year-old girls vs. everyone else. Even my nieces (5, 7, 13)  think he's overrated. But I digress. Even with the extra press they're getting, the risk/reward wasn't worth it.
Also, this was another loss for our overdosing photoshop culture. This country has such a warped idea of the body's image.
One more?

"This is a list of 100  excellent R&B (and R&B-rooted) albums released from January 25, 2000 through December 15, 2014."
I used to think R&B was my strong suit, but I haven't heard half of these albums. Without a doubt this will be the next audio journey after finishing Lou's Top 40 2015.
I will say that putting Back To Black and Channel Orange that low gives me some caution.
