THIS!!!! THIS!!!! THIS!!!!! Sweet little moments like this make the couple perfect for me, flesh out the relationship. Domestic fluff is my jam. A good kiss and fade to black is great but quiet intimacy makes the relationship so authentic.

Bonus points for Haode complaining about them being interrupted, all the awards, chefs kiss.

This scene where he’s trying to back track now he has his memory back but they have already consummated… a lot by the sounds of it, is so funny to me because then later on he’s like, I have no memory of our time together recently so then she offers to help him with his case files because of his memory and he’s like, no need,I remember and then Hao De basically tells him, you remember reading the case files but you don’t remember returning my kiss and carrying me to bed in a manly fashion where we made love… numerous times and Shen Hui Zhao can’t say shit about it because she’s caught him in the lie. 🤣

Annnnd I have a new favourite couple in perfect match. I thought Hao De was just the nice passive sister that I would root for but not be interested in, this girl be outwitting her older judge husband, winning her upper class in laws over, saving the common folk left right and centre and killing some nasty bitches.

And don’t get me started in Hui Zhao, that boy is sooooo fucked up but such a good man, he doesn’t want the marriage because he doesn’t want to see her turn out like his sister or mom, what the noble idiot fails to comprehend is that he doesn’t get to make this choice for Hao De, as she so eloquently puts it she could end up marrying a complete asshole or get run over by a carriage tomorrow so this girl is going to fight for this marriage, even if hubby says no. Episode 25 was traumatic, episode 26 fire, I can’t want to see if her dangling the carrot is going to break his resolve tomorrow.

Awesome sister award goes to Leshan who isn’t so proud that she won’t kneel to Wang Xian and beg for his help in saving her sister, little petty asshole, though you did see him get uncomfortable when all his asshole friends started jeering at her. Le Shan is going to roast him alive the first chance she gets, he’s definitely going to end up in HIS knees by the end if their arc.

THIS!!!! A billion times this!!!!!! Do I love drama’s with a modern view during period times YES! Does that stop me from enjoying and understanding dramas that maintain the world view of that period? Absolutely not, have the men been trash goblins at some point during perfect match? Freaking YES! Does that stop them from being 1000% in love and dedicated to their wives? NOOOOOO.

People just need to enjoy it for what it is not not impose the beliefs and morality of today on it. You can watch a modern for that or google search a forward thinking period drama.

I’m just here for the Li ladies bagging their men,keeping them in line and the laughs it inevitably entails.

It's making me laugh reading how much people hate the men in Perfect Match because I'm telling you, they feel a lot like real men. Not even historical men, like dudes I met yesterday. There have clearly been too many Marty-Stus in fiction recently because those guys are fine.

Like Chai An, he's arrogant, competitive, and does pranks as "lessons to ignorant women." Does he suck to some extent? Yes. Does he have any concerning vices to a woman in historical China? No. Women marry men just like him all the time today and do just fine because he's intelligent, driven, and motivated. He has a job and he's good at it. He takes care of his mother and now his wife. That may feel like a low bar, but it is one that many do not clear...

Pathetic Husband #2 (Fan Lianghan), he is a man child, but he's also the one most clearly there for comic relief. However, it seems like he's a bit of a coddled trust-fund baby and he has been growing up as the series goes on. He's fine. He's manageable.

Du Yangxi (Scholar Husband #1). Do I like him? No. Is almost everything bad he's done driven by insane circumstances and not his traits? Yes. Also, he's 20 freaking years old and all he's done his whole life is try not to starve and study for a test. He will improve with time!

Shen Huizhao (#4) may need to update his fundamental morality (it's a bit too concrete and inflexible), but there is nothing wrong with this man that having his child sister murdered in front of him doesn't explain. He would benefit from therapy but that's not going to happen so let his wife figure it out.

Now Insane Boy #5 will probably need some serious work, but his future wife is feral so I'm sure she can handle it.

Anyways, I know dramas are wish fulfillment to some extent but honestly the way people talk about these guys you'd think they are serial killers when they just are flawed.

Patiently waiting for the scene where he tells her to stop calling him brother and go back to calling him “husband,” then they ravish each other. I’ve seen the previews for ep25 and it looks like Hao De is going on the offensive.

He might aswell just stick chuck her in a sedan and marry her again for real. Boy is a goner, he just hasn’t realised it yet. How this is going to translate when he gets his memory back I do not know.

I’m usually a bit dubious about the amnesia trope but it WORKS so well here, I’m enjoying this more open emotionally available Shen Hui Zhao and glad we get see what his character could have potentially been if all the bad shit with his Mom and sister didn’t happen.

He’s clearly suffering from the guilt of losing his sister and feeling responsible and even worse that his mother also blamed him. He definitely feels like he either doesn’t deserve to love someone or that he is protecting himself from further heartbreak by trying to limit emotional connections. Probably both tbh. Hao De definitely has her work cut out for her.

I’m excited to see their development once his memory returns. Let’s see how long that austere mask can last when he’s constantly reminded of how loyal, sweet and dedicated she has been to him during his amnesia.

This scene was fire, the wedding was beautiful but their easy intimacy and the way he’s a squishy trash goblin for her just makes it chef’s kiss.
