This article was so great:
“It can be difficult to understand a person we are in relationship with, especially when we may not even understand ourselves. Why do we feel good about ourselves one moment and bad another? Why does a person change their attitude toward us from one day to the next? Each human is a complex creature whose behavior is driven by emotion, beliefs, point of view, and how much coffee they had that morning.
Combine that with another person who is driven by different emotions, beliefs, point of view, and how much they drank last night, and we have an opportunity for emotional drama and chaos. Some call it a roller coaster of emotion. Others are calling for relationship help."

But haven’t we known this for a while now? “People obsessed with grammar” aren’t our smart, eagle-eyed friends we ask to read cover letters NOR our friend in marketing who follows grammar rules for a living. THESE are the people who correct grammar in the comment sections of Facebook posts. OR who judge character based on proper use of who vs whom. Teaching ESL kids for a year in Slovakia taught me 1) my own grasp on English grammar is very weak and 2) it doesn’t fucking matter. It just doesn’t matter. That’s what’s beautiful about the English language. You can go to North Dakota, Louisiana, New York, Australia, Wales, anywhere and the language is different and flexible and beautiful. “People obsessed with grammar”need to focus MORE on what they’re saying and LESS on how it’s said. That is all.

This song works magic when I’m in a crabby mood. Especially if my mood’s been soured by someone(s). I officially feel better.
As Big Sean says, “She’s a bird brain.”
Thanks, Big Sean.

I’m cleaning out my closet. I realized last week I haven’t bought new clothes in almost a year. This isn’t a good thing when you’re a grown woman. I need to kick out the stuff I don’t wear to make room for the new! I am selling LOTS of great midrange brands. Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, J Brand, 7 For All Mankind, J Crew, Free People, Calvin Klein, Elie Tahari, etc. Click over and check out what I have!

My Oscar Predications
Let’s see how well I do tonight:
Actor in a Leading Role: I think Leo will win, and I want Leo to win.
Actress in a Leading Role: I think Brie Larson will win, and I want her to win. I’ll be annoyed with J. Law wins.
Supporting Actor: It’s gotta be Mark Ruffalo. Maybe Christian Bale isn’t out of the question.
Supporting Actress: Probably Kate Winslet.
Animated Feature: Inside Out will probably win, but I want Anomalisa to win.
Best Picture: I just don’t know. The Revenant, Room, and Spotlight are all real contenders in my opinion. But I’ll guess The Revenant.
Cinematography: The Revenant
Costume: Carol
Directing: Room
Film Editing: The Revenant
Foreign Language Film: Son of Saul (I”m guessing this because it’s Hungarian)
Makeup and Hair: Mad Max
Production Design: The Martian
Sound Editing: Mad Max
Sound Mixing: Stars Wars
Visual Effects: Toss up between Martian and Revenant. But that bear, right? The Revenant.
Music (original score): Star Wars, because John Williams
Original Screenplay: Ex Machina. THIS NEEDS TO WIN.
Short Doc: Body Team 12 (wild guess)
Feature Doc: The Look of Silence
Animated Short: World of Tomorrow
Live Action Short: Stutterer
Original Song: Fifty Shades of Grey because how awesome will it be if this movie wins ANY Oscars?
Adapted Screenplay: Room

I like to imagine what I’d wear on the Red Carpet on Sunday. I’m obsessed with Zuhair Murad. This gown is from his 2016 Spring Couture collection. I mean, I’d probably line the bodice (you can def spot some model nips in this photo), but really gorgeous. Right?

Thee 4th Annual* Academy Awards LIVE Blog!
I haven’t been blogging. AND I couldn’t watch the Oscars last year. BUT I’m gonna restart my tradition of Live Blogging the Oscars THIS Sunday!
Join me on Sunday February 28th at 6pm ET for the Red Carpet and 7pm ET for the Big Show.
Visit http://thee-a-word.tumblr.com/ to join me! In the past, I have been moderately funny, but I always welcome commenters (YOU!) who are much much wittier than me.
* I skipped covering the 2015 Osars because I was in Slovakia.

I might be the wrong person to have a strong opinion on this topic. In my household growing up, you went to the hospital if a limp was torn from the body. We waited 2 days to go to the hospital when I broke my elbow. Once I pinched a nerve in my neck and my head was tilted to the right for a entire day. Hospital is last resort. So it would never dawn on me to bug my doctor for antibiotics.
Also, THIS:
“For one, the drugs don't help: Antibiotics treat bacterial infections. Colds and flu are caused by viruses. So taking antibiotics for these illnesses is an entirely futile and wasteful exercise. But even more importantly, the more we take antibiotics — particularly when they're not necessary — the more we increase the chances of helping develop antibiotic-resistant bacteria. These "superbugs," as they're known, have become a huge public health threat around the world, killing thousands of people every year and, researchers expect, many millions more in the coming decades.”
Just stop. You’re all annoying me. Drink fluids. Get some rest. And stop contributing to the development of superbugs. I hate you.
