Still technically active on here. Been meaning to be more active, actually (especially in the posting/reposting side of things). Either haven't had the time/energy, or simply... Forgot.

Nivanfield but while Piers is a professional merman, Chris is an *actual* merman. The first meet when Piers is testing out one of his new silicone costume tails in the sea.

Piers is surprised when Chris emerges from a nearby reef, with a look of clear concern. How is he talking underwater? And why does his tail bend so naturally like there were no knees within?

Meanwhile Chris is genuinely worried for what he thinks is an injured mer. His tail seemed to be broken in the middle, and it seemed he couldn't speak. "Are you alright? Can I help you?" he asks, but the other 'mer' replies only with confused gurgling.

The two can't help but stare at each other for what felt like forever, Chris' look of concern mirrored by Piers' look of confusion. Well, it lasts until Piers feels the familiar tug of the lack of air. Plus, Piers knew the lookout back onboard the boat was probably starting to worry about how long he'd been down here.

Pointing upward towards the surface, Piers begins to swim up towards the small boat he'd came out on... Only for Chris to quickly grab his arm and start swimming away from the surface (Humans are... Complicated for merfolk. Not many interactions between them). Eventually the two make it to a rather secluded beach where the two are able to actually introduce themselves.

Imagine the confusion (maybe a bit of horror) on Chris' face as this younger merman proceeds to casually peel the skin and scales off his tail in one go without any look of pain, only to reveal two very human-looking legs.

It takes a while to calm Chris down and explain the concept of 'mermaiding' to him (along with various back and forth questions between the human and merman). Piers agrees to keep Chris' whole thing a secret, and the two get to know each other.

Despite his partners' warnings, nothing stops Piers from returning to that same spot multiple times at least 2-3 times a month for another swim. Accompanied, of course, by his new 'fishy' companion.

Who knows what happens next. Maybe one day Chris decides to let Piers experience being a REAL merman for once? Or perhaps Piers tries to introduce Chris as a fellow professional merman who's just REALLY dedicated to the 'merman' bit?

Claire leans back on her hands as she looked up at the night sky, only the sounds of the waves crashing below filling the air. A 'splash' followed by a grunt caught her attention, a small smile appearing on Claire's face as the auburn haired woman looked over at the blonde man- well, merman- pulling himself up onto the pier next to her.

"I'm here, Claire." Leon says with a smile as he sits next to the human, water dripping off his hair and down his bare, slightly muscular torso. The end of his navy blue fish tail hung off the side of the pier, his fins dangling just above the waves' peaks.

Claire returns the smile and leans over to kiss Leon's cheek, resting her head on his shoulder as her gaze moves from the merman back to the night sky.

"So, what did you-"

Before he could finish, the merman flinched as a loud 'BANG!' filled the air immediately followed by bursts of color lighting up the night sky above the town. His jaw dropped in amazement as he watched the colorful explosions fill the dark night sky.

"Happy New Year." Claire said with a giggle, her hand resting on Leon's cheek she turns to kiss him on the lips for a few long seconds before parting.

"Happy New Year..." Leon repeated as a smile grew on his face, taking Claire's hand in his. He pulled the woman into another kiss, this one lasting much longer...

Au where Piers is a professional merman at a local aquarium.

Chris, who was babysitting Rose that day, ends up taking a day trip to the aquarium after hearing about a 'mermaid show'.

Let's just say, if Piers was a siren, Chris was the sailor captivated by his beauty. All throughout the show, he couldn't take his eyes off of the handsome young man doing tricks in the aquarium. The way Piers expertly swam in that blue and beige tail could've fooled anyone into thinking he was a real merman.

When it came time for an audience member to try swimming with the mermaids, Rose immediately volunteers Chris to swim (she was considered 'too young' to participate).

According to Piers, Chris rocked the whole 'King Triton' look.
