For some personal reasons around a year ago I left this blog for a new blog, mostly a FFXIV blog called @lizarddiary

i’m sorry i phoned it in but this is how i do literally every single shiny metallic surface. another tip is to add surface detail to something just so that you can pin highlights to it, that way you’re not faced with a big blank space to fill up

and to be honest, you can bullshit 99% of these armour embossing designs. i mean look at them. i didn’t even make them symmetrical. their only purpose is to help define the form

my last step is usually to go ham panting over the lines. most of what u see in a finished image is me having painted over the lines (u can see that clearly on the pendant). u can see in this one that i disregarded my lines in a lot of places and just kinda freestyled it.but u can also see that i place the highlights right up against the dark bits. this armour was very shiny so those dark bits are reflections rather than shadows (i guess?)

Believe it or not, this right here is Nara. As a herb bride, from Pathologic 2.

This is where her name comes from, actually. When I was first creating her, the only thing I knew about the xaela was that they where a steppe-dwealing tribe. Much like The Kin from Pahtologic.

So I decided to name her like the only named herb bride from the game, Nara. As a little homage to one of my favourite games of all time.

A quick guide on how I draw sleeves. Especially oversized ones. To figure out the arm’s direction, I’ll divide the arm into three sections by drawing two curved lines. I use these lines to figure out how to draw the end of the sleeve. Works every time!

My OC Vincent, a non-binary GNC millionare obsessed with collecting all sorts of ancient and occcult artifacts.

Their promouns are he/they, with no preference over one or the other.

Those two drawings belong to different moments in their life, the first one being when they where on their early 20’s and the second on their current state, at 42 years old.

They used to be a quite polifacetic performer, both a singer, dancer and actor. They where a celebrity back in their prime. But in their 30’s they had an accident that put them, in a wheelchair for quite a while and even when they recovered enough to be able to walk again they now need a cane with them at all times. With their performing career now ruined, they formally retired and used their money to pursue their other, more secretive passion: the collection of occult artifacts with weird powers and properties.

Vincent is not a hero, nor are they the villain either. Think of them as more the shady shopkeeper, the wizard you really can’t be sure of their intentions until the very end. The Happy Mask Salesman from Majora’s Mask.
